  1. I quit because the game is nothing more than alts tracking and ganking anyone who dares to pvp without a group. No matter where you go on the map teleporters are waiting to gankyou the minute you left battle.

Im sure they keep trying more bad ideas to stop the ganks but for me i found out pirates of the Burning Sea is back online with way more players and a overall better game so i am playing that now and actually having fun vs frustration.

If you thought the occasional flame or shout out "we don't help other clans" on the national chat was bad, wait until this update goes live, sit back and enjoy the ultimate bitch fights (excuse my language) amongst the clans of your nation. Probably even the saltiest of clan players will sourly quit this game leaving us behind with an empty RvR arena.

Please, add some story content to this game and simplify - simplify -simplify.

They made this game a clickfest game with so many exploits that they have spent 18 months trying to slow down character progression that THEY screwed up to begin with so they can never simplify it now.

Ive said many times that the game was better at ow launch than any time since then and it was extremely simple in terms of doing things but took brains and will to become great. Was a great system ruined by cry babies and people with no vision or ability to think ahead.

Oh. Nobody's playing the game? Told you they wouldn't. But ya didn't listen m8...

I told them word for word how this game would implode step by step over a year ago if the devs implimented the biggest game killer into the game. They along with the mods who control what is done laughed and mocked me.

A year later its like a page by page replay of how I said it would happen.

We have to face facts at this point , that they simply dont want this game to succeed and are using it as a blackboard for something else.

I know you where and I was more talking about the other players that didn't come from EU.  I'll be honest when 3.0 drops our clan will prob be gone off to SC and be done with this game.

If the devs care they would change the things we are saying killing the game now (the grind and xp rewards) which are only number changes and not major content.  Than come along and fix the rest of the stuff with future patches.  We are fine with RvR being dead for now, but we want the rest of the game to not be dead.

Nothing will save the game. The players who control what the devs do refuse to admit the thing that killed this game a long time ago. Nothing will save this game now. Pride cometh before the fall...the fall is close.

Will the servers be merged because at this point without something magically bringing the population back up all of this will be a moot with 50 players on Global at peak. Seriously unless we get population back up this is all just an excersise in futility.

No amounts of mergers is going to help population.  This game has a fatal flaw that the devs refuse to fix and the community who has thier ear refuses to admit exists.

You really only seem to chirp when someone dares to have a differing opinion than you - please refrain from the ad hominem attacks. If you disagree with my position figure out how to say so. As I say to my little Daughter - use your words.

Do you and her share the same safe space? Also be careful in your glass house when you are tossing them stones fella.

You sure get so upset when you can't get your way dont ya.

It seems the biggest "unforeseen consequence" of the PvP Mark system is seal clubbing gone mad. The newest Jr Lt.  in a Pickle is seen only as an easy PvP mark to the ambush predators of the game.

Way to retain new players .....

Some reward for successful escape from an ambush predator would be nice - as that was a BIG part of the reality of Age of Sail. Most fight ended with an escape in reality - captures were pretty rare and quite celebrated

The pve server has your name all over it. Its one big safe space.

This is going to stink of Alt farming at its best. I can see it now, entire clans with alts passing ports back and forth with themselves to farm conquest pension marks.

I do have another question, I thought that the wipe and map reset and change to all of the game mechanics was to promote very tight regional areas that nations could actually defend. The mantra was "Don't expand if you can't defend your ports!" I remember those posts very distinctly. Now you come back with this mechanic which is designed to hyper expand your areas in order to farm these pensions. No one is going to actually inhabit and build outposts in these far flung ports which will be swapped back and forth.

Please make up you minds of how you want this game to go. I want to really like this game again but for me it is starting to get exhausting. If you want senseless port battles everywhere I'm all for it! But you have to make it worthwhile and easier to build the ships and gather the resources to do this. Granted, I am more of a casual player lately and I am sure that there are larger and very organized clans who are working well to produce, but for a player like myself it is nearly impossible to set up an outpost to generate any sort of money to spend on ships without very long sails through unprotected waters. The entire east coast of the USA is only paying 1 gold for just about every craftable resource. If I harvest Iron Ore in Sunbury the payout is one gold per unit while it costs 80 gold per unit to harvest. Convert that to Iron Ingots and it was profitable for a very short time but now it pays 1 gold. Then convert that to Iron Fittings and you guessed it, 1 gold sale price unless I sail around the entire Florida Peninsula through pirate waters into the Gulf of Mexico to sell it for anything higher than 1 gold. There should be viable local markets to sell and trade. Not super high prices, but I should be able to survive. Save the extreme prices for distant foreign ports.  While I understand that there are more players on the server now than before, they are still low numbers. About 300 or so on average? When this game goes on sale what is going to happen to this economy when there are potentially 1000's?

I don't mean to rant or complain too much but the simple fact is the market is dead in the US. I'm not crying that I want to be a multi-millionaire overnight. I just am not going to be interested in working this hard for this long in a game that is supposed to be fun. I just no longer have the time available especially with Summer finally here to waste on sailing endlessly in a basic cutter.

As a casual player myself I feel your pain. Im content to play in small ship and realize ill never have the best of anything because I don't sink enough time into it.

Just playing now i feel like i will have to take a vacation just to be ablento grind out the stuff necessary to make cannons.

  9. Dont ships already have a lookout ? Isnt the player the lookout? I think what you are asking for in a clever way is a warning signal for all you afk players so you can do other stuff till the computer gives you an audio alarm.

Leave it the way it is, its one of the fee things left that rely on player skill or alertness rather than just special abilities rewarded for time sinks.

Yes im aware my view isnt popular since most players seem to have ADD and have to afk sail.

It is forcing people to spread out and if they want the fight they can go to the "front".   Or they can continue to hide in the rear relatively safe far behind the lines.

Unfortunately this is only because of wipe. Once everything is reastablished it will be exactly like before wipe. It simply has to because nothing really changed to affect the end result.

As someone who just restarted from scratch i can see its already setting up to be the same. Give it 4 months and revisit this thought.

As a Frenchman, i see the two largest factions dividing half the map and swimming in conquest points.  Then another faction in another non aggression pact with the British.  That's three factions owning over half the map not attacking each other.  You guys worried that some pirates and french might help each other?  Funny.

You might not call it an alliance but saying Cuba is the dividing line IS an agreement in cooperation.

Its exactly what happened last time so why wouldn't it happen again. Thank God the pirates finally broke up the love fest but it still is inevitable that it will just happen again and again.

I eventually agreed with the others: just bring something like a Lynx with you. Maybe a Trader's Lynx, actually, so you can also move small amounts of goods in and out. They are almost impossible to stop, if you put some rig repairs on board. None of the upwind ships have forward chasers so they can't really even stop each other.

Another option would be to just keep trying to run out in a Basic Cutter. Zero cost to you, zero reward for them if they sink you, and they still aren't that easy to catch.

I have no doubt we will be hearing from trapped people, but I do agree the solution for this particular problem is there for those who plan ahead.

Something tells me since " so many" people bitch that they dont have time to even sail to battle or sail from one port to another without teleports and fast speed ow travel that when they are faced with your guys option of " well just keep making a run for it in a cutter" and maybe some hour you will get away after 40 retags , will just not sit well with that crowd.

They will all quit. Its going to happen with the crowd that plays this game.

    remove freeports...not only TP.

actual game mechanic lets vets player open an op in enemy homeland killing everyone expecially newbs because they don't know how defend themselves.

so newbs will lose their few money/single ship, once, twice...third time they left game.

again server pop goes 100 players only.

let nations be able to grow up their player, and PVP on frontlines

maybe introduce a ''rest in port'' cooldown: when a player goes in enemy waters like now, he can kill how many people he wants until he goes back in 1 port for repair. entering enemy port starts a cooldown of 1 hour where he can enter how many times he likes for repair/sell/trade, once timer expired he cannot enter anymore for 24hours...so if he needs to repair he musts go back to homeland

You will never have "front lines" when entire nations can teleport at will back and forth and and attack wherever the other guys are not. Happened pre wipe and will happen again. This time things have chaged a little to slow it down but it will start again.

  14. Every time i read all the drama Europeans have on thier special server i thank God we rebelled and left and i thank God we havea server way far away from them.

Ive played this game is ow started and there has seldom been a day when the server and this clan are notat odds or the clan is being punished for yet another exploit.

Thank you so much admin for not forcing us to have to all be on that server !

  15. Well they need to do something because once a player is being camped in a freeport there is nothing they can do but log off. Even letting the campers kill you does nothing but send you back into the camped freeport.

So unless the game mechanic is finding ways to make people log off then something should be done because this will only get worse as the dominant 2 or 3 nations take over the map leaving people no other option than freeports.

Imagine being a small nation whos only real access to resorces needed is freeports but every time you sail into one your day is over because you cant leave.

Having teleports everywhere at will exept freeports is going to cause massive issues soon.

As I was sailing my trader around last night, happily trading and making a lot of money deep in French territory, I thought, "this would be a great time for someone to gank me" and "why isn't anyone trying to gank me" and "these neutral ports around here should have people based there who want to gank me".

    Then I realized the problem.

If you base yourself out of a free port deep in enemy territory then you've really trapped yourself. You show your face, gank a couple people, run back to port and now you're camped. They're out there waiting for you and you have no way out. You are done playing Naval Action for the night unless you like alts.

Maybe we should allow captain teleporting between outposts, regardless of if they are Free Ports or not?

    Another option might be:

    * You can teleport from one nation outpost to any other nation outpost
    * You can also teleport from one neutral outpost to any other neutral outpost

In this case, our intrepid pirate only needs 1 other neutral port anywhere in the game so he can teleport out and play somewhere else for a while. Switching from neutral port raiding to nation defense involves a little sailing time, though.

I guess the counter argument is:
We don't want raiding to be too easy. If you go to raid British shipping out of a neutral port, this is a serious commitment and only dedicated raiders will do it.

...but I don't like the idea that you could simply trap raiders in a neutral port. To my eye, it overly punishes that playstyle. I personally would like to go setup a raid base out of a neutral port deep in enemy territory but I don't want to have to live there or get camped in.

People cried tears for months how bullies like me picked on them from freeports. Solution = let anyone teleport anywhere any time exept for the true pirate and privateer players... golf clap.

Again I say put a cooldown on tps and allow tp wherever you want freeport or not.

Irony= teleports are put in to game to stimulate pvp exept at freeports because to many people where using them for pvp. Hahaha.

    @admin

I'd like to see some limitations put onto Free Towns.

For several days now, the Dutch nation has been plagued by certain Pirate players, that enjoy hunting in the area between Coquibacoa and Fort Zoutman.

The hunting part, i have no issues with.

The part i have issues with, is that when we chase them, they just run back to the Free Town, and then pop back in and out for a few minutes until it's safe to start hunting again.

For the Dutch players, this just becomes an unending game of whack-a-mole, and there's nothing we can do to stop that.

I'd suggest some kind of timer on leaving and re-entering the free port

Another option is a port battle-like mechanic that allows a nation to blockade the free port for x hours.

This would allow only ships of the blockading nation to enter and leave the free port for the duration of the blockade.

Hahaha you mean to say you wish to make it so people cant attack you. Gees dude either block them and sink them or deal with it.

How much hand holding to people need? No matter how easy they make stuff its never easy enough.

  18. As a casual player without a big clan to help me it took me about 5 days before I got a drop item worth enough gold that i could outfit abd buy a brig class ship.

That in itself i can live with but what is the killer for me is even in the most remote place on the map ( an hour from closest) capital city ive already been revenge ganked comming out of a battle. One time I was chased to a port but lived AFTER about 40 minutes of retags. The other in a differentremote spot i lost my ship because the revenge fleet kept retagging me till i HAD to log off for work.

Players will not stay for that. This will quicky be back to 40 hard core gankers per server just regenge ganking each other.

If they could somehow work something in so where the battle ends is where you spawn on open world, and not where the battle started.

Anything to throw off the fleet waiting to gank you would be great. Or you get to pick where out of a large circle that you want to leave battle then get your invis.

Anything is bettee than what we have now.

  20. I dont mind the grind so much i guess. Its definitely alot of stuff now to work toward but ive got nothing better to do and i dont need to have "everything " right now. One thing that is very frustrating and causes me not to playis when I finally get a decent ship and finally got some skills in it and i into battle and when i come out 11 guys have teleprted in and are waiting for me.  Whats worse is i outrun them in battle but they just retagged me and kept doing it till i had to log off for work.

Guess this game is only ment to be played by the unemployed and moms little basement dwellers.

Enemy can TP to me but I can't TP out? Makes sense.

I want to play pvp and will but cant because i have to sail all over the place doing the RvR thing...its not risky its just annoying...i'd rather devout my time to PVPing and just wait for the ship to arrive in a day for the rvr thing......they are distracting me away from action.

MY COMPLAINT IS I CANT GET AWAY FROM SAILING PLACES.

Lmao buys an age of sail game, bitches he has to sail.

  22. 15 minutes ago, Sir Texas Sir said:

This was me last night.  I did a circle around KPR area starting from the north.  Clan mates had been raiding on the south side of the island and was heading back.  I was late to the show so decided I'll just circle the island and head back.  Sure enough just south of Savanana La Mar I run right into a Mercury with a Trader Brig in fleet. Tag him.  I Go right after his Trader Brig. I figure it's prob empty on the way to go get something in Dutch land or south Brits holdings.   He takes off.  I do a quick cap, no cargo.  Scuttle ship and escape.  I head south.  Same path he was going.  His invisibility goes off and I'm set on course with him.  Tag....battle goes on and my surprise sinks him, get some repairs.   Noticed I"m out of sail repairs so better get home.   I head back after a nice run.   Two less British ships on the OW and the trader brig prob hit hard on his econ.   We catch these guys all day long making these runs.

Bitches about never getting PvP and such, than admits he never leaves port.  I'll be bluntly honest with you man.

Sounds like this might be the game for you.....if you don't get out you won't find something.  You have to make that first step. Bitching about not getting PvP and sitting in port is not the games problem, it's your problem.

*SNICKERS* Is i it WO?   Yah they hit us pretty good the first week.  Just glad they our out bugging some one else.  Though we watch for ya'll and Brits making that run all the time tagging solo guys most of them don't even escort with a war ship,  just a solo Trader Brig. Easy pickings for a Pirate or Privateer.

@Mrdoomed I figure your having a field day with the easy targets.

Yes i am loving the easy prey.....my concern is the inevitable power creep that means people have outposts everywhere and a revenge gank squad awaits after every kill. Till then its like a turkey shoot.
