  1. I had almost the exact same idea when i heard about the mystical event and I was disappointed to hear that it was just a ship wreak hunt. We have these massive AI fleets that just sail around. Make some new massive treasure fleets, by adding 1-x Indiamans into those fleets. Then we need to board the Indiamans to get the loot. The letters can still drop with intel on the last port the treasure fleet left/where sighted and it's BR. And the the nation (and their allies) the treasure fleet belongs to could also get a notice when their treasure fleet is attacked. 

      
    I don't know how attacking AI fleets works after the diplo patch, but would be nice to force us to gather a big treasure hunting fleet and sailing into enemy waters. That would provide us with some decent PvE and PvP action. If we have the option of sailing into our allied nations water and attacking their treasure fleet, it we will use it that will just be PvE. So i hope that in the future we can't attack allied AI fleet's or at least allied treasure fleets.  

     

    I also feel like pointing out that if we manage to gather 10 1. rates ++ and go into enemy waters and successfully defeat a massive enemy treasure fleet, we need a decent reward each time! Considering the risk involved and the effort it takes to organize something like this fine ropes and block is just not worth it.

  3. As it is now I'm experiencing that 80% of the PvP battels I'm in are ganking battels, and for me that's just not the right stuff. Port battles are still good, but rare. I also prefer fighting in big line ships and I have not been to a single regional capital port battle after the 4. rate patch. So I'm having withdrawal issues from lack of 1. rate battles. 

     

    I'm argumenting for having an option to start a battle that will continue to let players enter the side of the outnumbered team, not a game changing mechanic for all players. For me and hopefully others, it would sort out the bad quality PvP issue instantly. Then we could get a good skilled based fight, and not the ganking stuff we have now.

     

    If I where to start a equal BR fight right outside a enemy capitol I can understand that it's not very realistic right then and there. But if I actually won that battle, there will be 20 players outside the waiting for me. So l will loose..

     

    This is imo a bit off topic but I also think the timers are to short and every time I see players crying out in nation chat for assistance I miss the reinforcement option we used to have in our home waters. Also imo duels does not count since it's one vs one and no risk involved. I need to feel fear and I prefer to play with teammates.

  4. I like pvp, but my nation don't do a lot of port battle anymore (lack of players, dicky-timers & alliances are the main reasons for that) so I realy miss something close to fair battels. We go out looking for a good pvp battle in ow, but we alwasy end up ganking someone or getting ganked and it sucks. It's not fun to be 5 against 1, and it's worse to be 1 against 5.

    I rely like the idea, and it could be implemented as a 2. attack/tag option. We have a button [Attack], and we could have an button [Attack - Equal BR]. So those of us that wants a fair fight with close to equal BR can choose to attack players with a different attack button. That way the gankers can still gank, and we who are looking for a good fight can choose that instead. 

  5. I do not see the need for this at all. I seriously think it's a waist of time an developer resources. Why do you even bother with a small annoying details as this when you have so many needed content patches on the way!? If you want to add stuff just because you like to add stuff, give us new ships! Focus on the big picture and stop adding stuff that do not give a fun bonus. The developer that came up with this idea should only get cold coffee for the rest of this month!

    Yes this escalated a bit, but I would like to see that you are still focusing on the other aspects of the game, like for example the boring port battles, the need for diplomacy or the massive pirate nation.

    Sorry if this was to harsh, but i doubt that food supplies will help the game right now. Food supply sound's to me like something you can save for when you are doing the last finishing touch on the game.   

    • Yes 9 an 12 need a buff, but please do not reduce 32 and 42. Or at least wait a bit! I have been using Connie and Ingermanland against Connie and Ingermandlands a lot lately. And I think it's a good and equal fight. I also think 32's and 42' should be lethal to smaler ships. Imo if a smaler ship is caught in a SOL's line of fire it should result in instant death. In that way attacking ships bigger than your self is reserved for skilled captains.
    • I disagree with mast buff. I have not lost or taken down a mast after the patch. Considering that we also have reinforced masts upgrades in this game, I don't  see any reason to make the masts stronger. 
    • Tweak raking crew losses is needed. Imo raking should be the number one tactic to disable/neutralize a enemy ship efficiently. Especially after the tank-armor patch. Right now it's not rewarding at all to rake. I think crew kill in generell was nurfed at the same time the armor was buffed. So please consider that by the time you have shot down an entire broadside and rear armor of a Connie, it should have lost most of it's crew as well. As it is now they go down with more than 350 crew left. I don't want ships to sink faster than they do, but I want them to be neutralized a lot faster.      
    • Tweak marines strength and preparation growth

      Yes, nerf, nerf, nerf.

    Sanity check questions

    1. Do you consider frigate battles fun (compared to older versions)?

      Using a Connie or a Ingermandland in OW PvP is more fun. Taking a Renomee or a Suprise out for a OW PvP not fun at all anymore. I miss going out and stern camping bigger ships with a Renommee. Taking out a Connie one on one that way was a epic challenge. Buffing the 9 and 12 pounders together with making raking more efficient might fix this issue. But I also like that 3 Renommee's can't pose real a threat to a 3. - 1. rate anymore. So I hope it's possible to keep this balance.     

    2. Do you consider ships of the line indecisive historical battles fun?

      Yes, yes, yes. Just give me back the 1. rate battles, I really miss them!   

    3. Should marines be tweaked?

      Not only marines. I had 3 golden boarding upgrades that could not be crafted, that I combined with 3 upgrades that we can craft. When you board a equal sized war ship or even a bigger sized war ship and you are using all golden boarding upgrades, it's like you are boarding a civilian Cruise ship full of old drunk tourists. They are totally helpless and you are guaranteed to win no matter what happens. Doing that to one ship is okay, but you can do that to many ships in the same battle, so it's not realistic. IMO boarding upgrades should  have more drawbacks, so you can't combine them all like some of us do.    

    What else did we miss?

    • Could you developers/gods please convert more deepwater ports into Regional Captials? I miss having my hearth pump with fear of loosing my 1. rate flagship and all the upgrades. The 4. rate battles is just not the same.. And I assume we also need to test how the changes effect the bigger ships, right? I haven't used a bigger ship than a 4. rate after the changes to to port battles.
    • Can you share more "intel" on new ships that are incoming and eta? It helps to keep the interest up. And if you need help testing out that french 1. rate Océan, just let me know :P

  6. I would really like to have a game function for sending/transporting ship's between ports, by just clicking a button and paying money. It should be like the free town delivery system, you pay money and wait for the ship to be transported between ports. We now capture ships to teleport our ships somewhere, and it's just a wast of time and it feels like an exploit. 

  7. Can the developers please just force survival on at all times. We now have way to much suicide griefing in this game. Imo it's more realistic with survival forced on at all times. If a captain tells his crew that they are about to commit suicide to awoid being captured, or to damage another ship by blowing up, there would be a mutiny in most cases! 

  8. All pirate nation players are partial, so if you remove their votes it's clear that most of us want the pirate nation reduced to a faction. That faction should not be able to build any SOL. They should be limited to the 2. shipyard. They should survive buy stealing and plundering. Being a pirate is to good now, it should be a punishment.  

  9. Port defense timers set in the middle of the night/morning is a bad part of the game for me at least. I don't know how many players we have on this server with that time sone, but I doubt it can be justified. The timers should be removed and a new mechanic implemented. 

     

    When defending a port we now need to stay in that port, an not play the game for the entire defense timer period. If we get attacked it's kinda worth it, but when we don't get attacked its a game-killer. And this defense timer also favors the nations with the most players, since they will be able to defend the most ports. That is fair, but please consider setting a player number cap on nations.

     

    Empty/undefended port battles are also a boring par of the game. You get the loot and stuff, but it's still boring.

     

    Ships on fire should lose steering and when they go into fire shock they should loose all their sails rapidly, like they were on fire! This to stop blowing up tactics a bit at least, and that they loose their sails is logical.

     

    Player who are online and playing the game should get crafting hours bonus. For example give a player labor hours for completing a mission and with a cap per hour, so it can't be abused. Maybe they need to complete missions according to the players rank also. In that way it will be more rewarding for the players who play the game, and not like it is now where all players are rewarded equal. Maybe give an option of labor hour or gold when capturing a ship and handing it over to the admiralty order.
