  1. Mormegil thanks for your exceptional post.

I think it's the best explanation of our reaction.

We might seems like little brats because we complain about a free 5th rate but in the actual meta of the game (pvp mostly) in the last few months people were sailing snow when they want to annoy others or Endymion when they solo (or small group) hunt (so they can escape if needed) everything else will be some 4th but mostly 3rd rates from the Constitution to the Redoutable.

  2. Good morning,

I'm still a little bit confused.

Is the Trincomalee the promised 40-50 dollars gift ship?

Major. Cheaper edition launch (could happen a week later due to valve approval)

    • All current edition owners will receive a free DLC ship
    • New price will be set at much lower levels
    • DLC will be then set for sale for new buyers.
    • This is going to be basically a 40-50 dollar gift for current version buyers

Its working extremely well. It should have been done long time ago.

    • We see what community wants
    • Individual players see when their idea is popular or not

We will provide responses for first batch of voted proposals soon.

We said above we are in this topic for conversationalist purposes. we don't take ideas in conversation threads. Nations wont change and more might appear. + judging by votes nation number is not a high priority on the community's mind.

What about doing surveys ingame to reach a bigger population and get a better idea of what the players like and dislike or would like to see improved/changed?

Not everybody is coming to the forum, and even in the forum not everybody reads everything.

  4. I guess some questions that some of us have is...

Beside having people coming from a particular country, did they or did they not come with their ships and some kind of mandate? (which would make that nation relevant to the historical part of the game).
And if they did is in the time scope and geography of the game?

So yeah sure there was some Russian presence on the West Coast... but what about them in the Caribbean?
Yeah sure there was some Chinese migrants but what of them having a military fleet?

    etc...

If the main goal is to attract more players, why not. But then let's go all the way and make the game Clan based.

We did not see positive spike in reviews after we added Implacable as crafted and tested De Ruyter in event. We consider that nobody cared for crafted ships anymore. Perhaps those who care about new ships did not update the reviews should do so if they are interested in de Ruyter as crafteable. If they stay silent they give the reviews to be ruled by vocal haters who just circle jerk each other. Positive reviews always get less likes, while haters group up always favoriting negative sentiment.

I guess since it was supposed to be an event... we were waiting for the following events to tell you if it was worth it.
I found the De Ruyter to be a beautiful ship... I killed one and no note came out of it.. then  I capped one... and lost it after being retagged and not bringing enough repairs to repair the one I had caped.
My feedback after the 1st event wasn't good enough to change my view of the game. I was waiting for an improved event to be able to do so.

I have now a gray De Ruyter (given by a friend who was more lucky than I) that I barely get out because I can't recraft it and I haven't heard of any new event coming.

Most of all, if you want this game to be event driven, it would be good to have a calendar of those events (without specifying which ship would be available) to keep us interested.

  6. Proposal: New ship crafting system based on XP gained while crafting same kind of ship.

    What is wrong now?

we have no control of the quality of the ship we build.

What would be nice to have?

The proposal is to have a crafting system based on past experience building similar ships.
Be able to choose cramped, speed, or any other trim and specialize in it by adding crafting XP for the trim and after enough XP get some consistency in the trim.

For example if I want to specialize in Speed trim, I select it when I craft my first ship and then I get some XP every time I build with Speed. after a certain amount of XP I'll get more chance to get "fast" most of the time, to the point where I'll get fast all the time, and faster once in a while... until I get faster all the time and it goes on until we get the ultimate very fast.

That knowledge of the Speed trim would be usable for all ships of 7 and 6 rate, then 5 and 4 rates, then 3rd to 1st rate.

But if I acquire the knowledge starting with a 5th rate I won't have the same success with a bigger ship. But if I constantly build newer ships in 3rd rate I will be eventually able to get a very fast 1st rate.

This proposal would make crafters certainly more interesting and enable them to specialize to some high level trim. And specialization in one trim wouldn't stop them from learning another one.

Global died because it was global. Regional server survived and thrived because it was a regional server.

I'm not arguing for a return to the "global" server, it's a dead idea and it was still-born from the start. I'm advocating regional servers, simply because they work. They work in every other MMO and they'll work in NA too.

As it is: You don't get any content. It's no fault of your own, and neither of the EU base. It's simply the fact that the world is round.

lol your head is as hard as a nail.

The ONE server works because we have American, French, English, Spanish, German, Russian, Ukrenian, Chinese, (etc...) based players.

As for the players complaining about losing port because they didn't put a timer (which is there to prevent any surprise outside of your time online) that's their problem.

End of senseless conversation for me.

  8. I think some players are not willing to lose their ship and others don't really care :D that's about it.

Beside that I don't try to extrapolate who they really are because some players are known to be very toxic in game and are angel when met IRL.

So we might act as we would in real life but nothing is in stone.

Nah.. I think my disdain of cowardice has been well-documented.

That always make me smile. Cowardice is for me a difficult concept to understand in a game.

Imo deport all NA players back to their shitty global server :D

    So much love...

Maybe you were not there at the beginning but let me remind you: we started with 1 server... then the devs opened a second one (at the release of the early access in January 2016) and then that one was abandoned at some point... We all played on the same server until someone decided that we needed to have a global for the majority of the players and one for the EU players who were crying a lot... That one became a failure when it was realized that the majority of the non EU players stayed or moved back to the EU Server.

So now we are all on the same server. And a system is in place to avoid any night/day attack. If you don't want to be attacked during the night just pay for it with a defense window tailored to your need. Otherwise don't complain...
