  1. I couldn't find the topic about "somewhat big battle with shitty results"

But here we go, yesterday evening at Baracoa... It wasn't Saturday night fever but the closest we could get for it...

    F02098EA5658691BB6C5261D5D6424238A2D39DC

We were waiting for the Pirates to come out an fight and they came in number... twice... but ran away twice.

Our main problem with this battle was to keep them in the fight as you can see they escaped. So we will have to bring the Buc next time.

  2. We were in a fight yesterday evening Swedish vs Brits and at some point of the battle one of our ship exploded. Most of us were on brace so we were OK.

One brit was caught by the explosion and then was sinking and burning slowly I think (please anyone who was there please add your version to get a better picture of what happened). But it seems that a second ship exploded and kill all crew on a ship and that one blew up a little after that.

I got killed on the last explosion as I was trying to get the doubloons and repairs out of the killed.

Is it something new those explosion in chain from a dead ship (no crew) or is it a bug?

Nope. It concerns all of us.

Notice that I am not the only PvE player writing in this thread. If even my colleagues don't necessarily ride the same horse and differ from my opinion.

maybe coming from someone else will help you understand see below:

I understand that you were replying to others but ship quality is not important in pve. It is to a certain extent but in a competitive environment a 2% difference in stats can have a significant impact especially with multiple repairs. It's why the repair "meta" has made the game very inconsistent.

Very unsurprising, the usual complaining started, as it always starts with things being new, like there was a wave of complaining about port boni introduction ("oh our meta ships become obsolete!"), about seasoned woods introduction ("oh our meta ships become obsolete!") or when this or that DLC ship came ("oh our meta ships become obsolete!")...

you're playing in PVE... this discussion has certainly more to do with PVP server... I don't understand why you still comment on it.

Fighting AI fleet can be challenging but the wood change won't make bid difference on your server.

People assumed their ships would lose the buffs and started panicking. Noone said old ships would turn into trash. How I see it:

    a) Only new crafted ships will have new wood stats after the patch. Old ships remain as they were thus creating 'legendary' ships from the 'previous era'
    or
    b) Patch with new woods will go live with other meaningful changes after the wipe.

That's what happened when players invest their time and resources to gather the Teak(s) and other useful (s) woods in the game.

I know some players who try to sail mostly purple ships with optimum upgrades and woods with the perfect trim (very fast or whatever their meta is) and that takes a lot of time to get.
Then people like me don't really care much. Sure I'll complain if I have to face a ship with one of those exotic woods but I'll do my best. But then also I'm not the king of PVP.

All I can say to this, we also have different playstyles on PvE server (something the raging bunny also does not understand). While some may strive for the best gear possible, others get their satisfaction from fighting with handicapped equipment, or simply not-so-perfect. It's the same as fighting uphill (against higher rank enemy ships) - the challenge is larger.

I can't really comment on PVE server. I'm not there. I only know what PvP players like.

The real PVP fighters like speed, an escape wind (in case of gank or fight turning bad) and fire power.

I don't even know what will be the availability of the new wood but even if it's rare I know that the best pvp players will have it.

Why does your ranting sound the same each time I find it? You really resemble your avatar more than is good for you...

    Pointless claims across the board.

At least few hours later you always seem to have triggered your brain again, each time. And come to other conclusions.

Maybe the impact is greater on PVP server than PVE...
That's why people are more on the edge when they realize that their optimum ships are not anymore.

Think of it only as an “honorable use of flag” mechanic instead.  It’s easier to wrap your head around.  If you are the one actually making the tag, at least it’s “honorable” and acceptable to gentlemen of the period, even enemies.  If you “join” an already started battle and take on a flag other than your native flag, that is seen as “dishonorable” to gentlemen of the period and your reputation will suffer.

Yeah but.... there were alliances at the time... The French were not alone at Trafalgar vs the Brits... :D:D

We can see in the game now the predominance of clans over nations. That would make more sens to me to have alliance system, it would give us a more dynamic pvp.

  8. I'm trying to understand the Karma thing...

I can initiate any fight against any nation and it doesn't affect my karma

But if I join someone else battle I'll change my karma toward the "victim"? And then clean your karma with money? It sounds like the Catholic Church when they were selling Indulgences to sinners...

Why not have something simpler: let us see who our enemy is in open water and allow alliance to clans.

  9. Yesterday night we went back to the event.

While the first night was a De Ruyter notes.... yesterday it was a bunch of loki in battle and wooden chest.

I came back to port with 4 chest and no notes of De Ruyter. So of course I like the chests but I was excepting what we had the day before.

The loki thing was kind of funny. One of my mate was even lucky to get a loki who surrendered immediatly (and then a note).

I honestly put my money that majority assumed something, and when reality didn't meet expectations they threw a fit like kids :)

Would I be happier if Connie DLC would be the gift ? You bet I would. But it isn't. Is the Trinc DLC.

Well it's not really about the Trinc... It's about the fact that admin announce something (DLC $40 to $50) then deliver something else (Trinc official price $39.99)  -that we can all craft or buy in game for a very low price- and tell us that we can ONLY believe what's in the patch notes.

The only proper information is in the current patchnotes. Even announcements can change and cannot act as a future promise of anything.

I know the game delivered is way more than what it was at the beginning... We heard that many times... But we also bought multiple DLC to support the game along its development, that what costumers do when they believe in an independent developer.

I would really appreciate if a real Community manager/PR person was in charge of communications at Game Labs. Someone who would only tell us what is coming up. And if they are not sure they tell us that too.
Right now we go from one miscommunication to another then the reaction from the costumers which is not good for Naval Action or Game Labs.

I'm going to sound like a broken record but I have stopped to buy games from the company. And if I have the Redoutable it's only because one of my clanmate gifted it to me.
