What Sveno said is correct.
You cannot (preemptively) find a clan and click somewhere to join it. A clan must extend an invitation to you and then you can click to accept their invitation.
How do you find a clan to get them to extend you an invitation?
There are several ways: (as Sveno said), ask about a specific clan, or clans in general in your nation chat or in the national teamspeak channel(if there is one); some clans have recruitment threads in the Guild/clan section of national news. Find the thread of a clan that you might be interested in and then post your interest in that thread or PM one of the listed clan contacts.
Many (but not all) clans may have some sort of a probabtionary or interview period where you and their members can chat/sail/interact with each other to see if you are a good fit for each other. Some clans will just issue you an invitation sight unseen.
Clans offer a social component to the game where you can sail and work together with friends. You can help each other out (with Econ, with trading, with crafting & shipbuilding, with PvP and missions).
Your enjoyment/satisfaction of the game is what you make of it.

Claims of an empty server.....
I find it odd then that a friend of mine who is playing on the EU server asked me last night (i.e. during North American primetime) how many people were logged into the Global Server. I told him the number....He sighed and told me that the EU server at the time was slightly more than half of what was logged into Global. He said that he might have to check out the Global server. :-)

You might not call it an alliance but saying Cuba is the dividing line IS an agreement in cooperation.

The Developers have repeatedly stated that if you see a bug, F-11/report it. As long as you have reported that bug, you will not be punished should you experience that bug again.

For you to have a XP redeemable on the Global Server you would have had to have had a character on the old PvP 2 server AND played one battle. And you would have had to do this prior to the server changes.
Did you have a PvP 2 character and did you do a battle before the server changes?

On the iPhone's world clock you can save UTC time zone. Probably other smart phones offer this as well.
On the NA map, server time is displayed in upper left corner.
In Microsoft Outlook and probably other calendar software, you can make an appointment for any time zone. Enter port battles in UTC and it will display for your local time... makes it easy to remember to show up for PB on time.
I found an App in the Apple store that not only gives you Zulu time but also allows you to add additional local time zones (it then does the local time adjustments for you).
The app is called ZuluTime. It is a

While I think some people have DISCORD set up for text chat, most utilize TeamSpeak for voice comms There is an app for TeamSpeak that you can download from the Apple App store (and I presume that there is also one for Android phones).
If there are any specific questions or items that you would like to have included in the meeting, please PM me here beforehand, or I can probably provide you a summary after the meeting.

Ah yes, they should come to a server that only allows port battles during Euro prime time.
Unless I am mistaken (feel free to correct me Sir Texas) I suspect that the majority of BLACK is based in North America. How will they find these "worthy opponents" if BLACK is not at home during the allowed PvP EU port battle window, and the Euro players are all snuggled safely in their beds when BLACK comes online?
