Rollback?!? Just for a few lost ships?!? Ships have 5 lives, they are cheap. Just buy or craft a new one, if you cant craft it yourself find someone who can and give him the mats plus a little crafters fee to make him hurry up, wham you've got your self a new excep whatever with 5 lives.
Not all ships have 5 dura/lives

Will there be any kind of rollback, I lost my ship because the servers went down in the middle of a battle.

More important? I'm not proposing that at all. The PVP mechanics are relatively deep already. The trading isn't. As it stands right now, if you want to make gold and XP -- for the most part -- you need to engage in some form of combat. And it's fine if that's the primary focus, of course, as the game is called "Naval Action".
But wouldn't it be neat if trading was also an adventure of its own?
Trade and adventure typically don't belong in the same sentence.
About the only way to make trade interesting is if you were smuggling contraband/running blockades. Those are pointless if you don't tie in trading ship loss to a ports economy.

That's fine; many new games draw inspiration and mechanics from long-standing franchises. Appropriately so.
But I'm really more interested in ways to improve trade as a gameplay feature -- since I'm convinced that will draw more players to our game.
I know I'm likely alone in this, but if you make trade more important than PVP then you really can't call this game Naval action.
If I'm stuck spending 3x as much in game time trading as I am fighting then what's the point?

The intent here is not to compare NA to EVE Online.
How do we encourage risk/reward in trade while also making it interesting to execute?
Unfortunately there are more than a few people here that want to turn this into an AOS version of eve.

I only play since the EA launch, so this might have been brought up before. I personally don’t like the capture mechanics and their impact on the economy / PVP they have right now. For me PvP was always more meaningful, when you really had to risk something. (Like flying real expensive ships in eve i.e.)
In NA so far, I don’t even care if I loose my 3rd rate, it will just take me like 30min to cap a new one. In my opinion it would be better to only be able to capture ships in PvP not against AI. This would also boost the Player economy, since you actually would have to craft/buy ships instead of just using captured ships all the times.Captured AI ships should only be able to be sent to the Admiralty for some prize money.
While you might keep the AI capture in for lower class ships to pacify the casuals, I strongly would recommend at least preventing this for 4th rate and higher ships. This ships should be somewhat special and not spammable.
If this would change you should also change the Blueprint system, since you can’t just cap and break down dozens of higher class ships anymore to get them precious BP, but this is another topic.
So what do you guys think about this issue?
You do realize not everyone wants this to be an Economy only game right?

I will agree what I posted is a tad inflammatory.
But when you have your own " let's give them special treatment " topic started by the developers( the Spanish problem) then why should what I say not be?

Please dont generalice. If you combat whith spanish faction in some ocasion, you know the reality. your afirmations, are basic, flamers, etc. Please be carefull when generalice and adjust your comments to reality. In ALL nations are bad/escellent players.

So it's ok for Spanish faction generalize? As lies about U.S tactics continue to be spread? Must be some of that special treatment you guys think you deserve.
Been involved in 6 OW fleet battles with Spanish since beginning of Feb. 5 have had at least 6 basics being used by experienced players. This is not counting mission interference that happens with said cutters.

I agree.That´s a great idea !!... Devs can do the game more logical and historical if they control Europe resources. Europe is the key for the improvement of the game. Armies come from Europe, money come from Europe. Some fleets come from Europe. You can as well introduce some ships from Portugal, Russia, Austria or others nations as a visitors...Usa and pirates had not many resources in those times, so in this way Europeans nations would be a new chance. France and Spain help USA with resources for the American revolution because they are poors. (resources coming from Europe)
This is a very good way to do a best game.
Reduce USA and Pirates faction to give more trade in the game, and historical sense to the others. Dev create and control the reinforcements that arrives from Europe.
Imagine that, RAE proposing limiting 2 of the 3 biggest factions in the game.
Why not ask the developers to make your ships invulnerable and give your clan some courage while your at it.

Time zone balance is a very difficult issue simply due to no matter what you do someone is always left out of something.

Are you even aware what you wrote is zero-content fear-mongering nonsense?
How is it fear mongering? More people seem to be more interested in making this game more like EVE and POTBS than letting the developers make something unique.
As far as moving the Capital, it will not make a difference if the Spanish faction player base is too small and remains unorganized.
It will be like reorganizing the deck chairs on the titanic.

Go to discuss timers, bad diplomatics or decisions to another thread.
Spanish capitol was moved to Habana in the last world before this wipe, when only 100 people were online. Still people did not stay in habana and this problem didn't arised then. And that capitol didn't the only city changed.
British's zerg capitol was changed from Lesser Antilles to Jamaica and nobody said about mom or dad coming to help the others. Dutch capitol was changed to ABC islands and nobody said something about mom and dad coming for help them. All that moves were for fix issues and give balance and it worked. Now is time to fix the bad move spain is suffering, but people is complaining?
Second explanation for better understanding: Months ago devs quit the british zerg from the gates of Sweden, Denmark and Dutch. Dutch were given the "promised paradise" for extend for uncontested spanish ports in Venezuela, nobody complaint then... Now is time for save spain from the unified zerg from 3 big factions.
Devs believed that spain should be a strong nation based in the spain from POTBS and they were wrong, this need adjust and now is early access, a perfect time for fix bad stuff.
If devs change ports now (and we don't know what they want to do) is for fix that bad move NOW that they and us have seen now, not before. Nobody call "mom and dad" for help. Remember that is a test phase in early access.
Maybe the developers are spending to much time/effort on making the game like everyone else's instead of making it their own.

Even the term "economy centric" send cold shivers down my spine.
It's disturbing so many want a primarily Econ game vs PVP.
I could of sworn the title was Naval Action and not Naval Economy.
It does explain why it's so hard to find decent PVP. People would rather play markets instead of fighting.

If people find it too hard to be respectful to others, they're in the wrong game and the wrong time period. Your argument has no foundation.
What defines respect? Keep in mind this a worldwide player base and what is acceptable in one culture may be taboo in another. Especially when compared to romatized versions of behavior from centuries past.

Unfortunately as long as players have the option to choose time for defense there will always be complaints about time chosen being unfair.

I'm sure this will get shot down but anywho.
Have 72 hour time once a port battle is initiated for both attackers and defenders.
Anyone from respective nation on either attacker or defender can be involved but only once. If you retreat/sunk that's it you cannot enter again for duration of 72 hour limit.
Have clear objective(s) for victory/defeat. Not sure as of now but can be expanded later.

I just think a separate hardcore server is more viable for those (me included) who enjoy the real time sailing. Many people always say to me 'you do realize how long that would take?' and to be honest i dont care if it takes me weeks or months to get across the map. I am playing this game for the realism
Say that now, 2 months in looking at the same screen without anything to do might change your mind.

They do not replace duras lost to server issues to my knowledge. It may change after the game is complete and officially launched but might not even then.
