23 minutes ago, Sir Texas Sir said:
Let me ask you how many times do you sink when your playing? Why would they be more expensive for a ship that only has one dura compared to the current ship that has 1-5 duras? You think the ships you are normally in lets say Frigates with 5 duras will get cheaper as they will cost 1/5th to make. Which means in place of that old one ship you can pay for 5 ships.
I'm here to fight other players, not hide and trade So it stands to reason I have greater risk of getting sunk.
Why do you feel ships would be cheaper? Just because it might cost less to make something doesn't mean that the prices will go down.
-
1 dura ships only make sense for players who can spend 5 or 6 hours a day playing. Ship cost will be too high for anyone with a life outside the game to afford with the travel times and forced boring trading.

1 dura ships= final nail in the coffin of PVP.
Players will be too afraid to risk ships that they have to spend several weeks RL time with bland PVE to afford. That's not including crew cost.
-
And the march to a primarily PVE game continues.
-
Seems like this another attempt to restrict players, which I fail to see benefiting anyone.

You don't have 2 minutes to sail to port to refill your crew? Don't make people laugh funny sir.
I don't see how this has a positive impact on those who rely on captured traders and player warships with 1 dura.
This is a slippery slope we are heading down.

People want to sail 1st rates, push one button and get kills. If there is a risk they get uncomfortable and cry. How I see this game - once you undock and go on OS it should make you very very uncomfortable and force you to pay attention because now you have those 300 sailors you are responsible for. Stay careless and you will loose them all. Who needs to go search for more guys in taverns telling them you wasted 300 lives on your previous voyage? No one. Scout horizon for sails else you as a 'Skilled" Captain and your crew will be talking to Davy Jones and his team.
.
No, players who do not have 6-8 hours time a day to play don't want to be forced to micromanage every aspect of the game. This is the direction the game is currently heading.

Not had time to read the whole thing but how would this impact the use of captured trade ships and captured player warships?
Would it be worth using either now seeing you would lose crew if you lose them because of the single dura?
-
The open discussion of the crew is needed to make such decisions. While officers are definitely needed and will bring extra dimension to the game - crew if it considered too complex or tedious will not get done. But at least we will have a good answer why its not done for future players.
Fair point, but I just hope you guys are able to balance the opinion if the hardcore vs the everyday gamer.
I still think this will end up favoring the larger nations and clans.
-
What is U.S prime time anyways, given there are several time zones?
I'm all for encouraging PVP, have to think on OP's suggestion before I really comment.
-
I heard Ruthless might have started his own clan, seeing no one here wants a mostly deaf player which he claims to be.

All games die at some point, why people treat Eve like the immortal holy grail of gaming is beyond me. One day too it shall fall.

Not like you can buy flags in free towns. Besides what would happen if a faction losses everything but it's capital, limiting warships to capitals in that case would make it even harder for a faction to recover.
-
Sometimes I put up ships at very high prices when I want to dry dock them long term. The problem is, someone usually comes along and buys the ship that I thought I was putting up for a ridiculous price.
I'm betting that's what ruthless did with his Renome, might buy it just to tick him off lol.
-
Lol ruthless is selling an exceptional Renome in key west for 650k, looks like the redeemable he got at launch.
Man what a rip off that is lmao.
-
lol, just lol .... sorry for the outburst but what in the name of the carronade size chested mermaids does that even mean, hardcore pvp and standard pvp ?
Needed that laugh today lol.
-
One of the three Corvettes of this poll because small is beautiful too.
I think adding 3 ships 1small, 1 med, 1 large would be viable and possibly have something for everyone.

Unfortunate consequence of having nation specific ships at this stage of the game incredibly tedious given the lack of ships available.
-
I was not talking about current ships, but what will be the priority in ships added over the next year -24 months or so.1st rates: 2
2nd rates: 1
3rd rates: 1.5
4th rates: 1
5th rates: 6.5
6th rates: 4.5
7th rates: 3.5
They added 1 3rd rate and 1 5th rate. Truly - such top heavy.
Sheesh.
-
My concern is the game will become top heavy with a focus on 1st,2nd, and 3rd rates only being added. More variety on the higher level ships to reward the " grind"

I tried to engage Pagan today off Sunbury, but it seems he was more interested in escaping..... the dog!
Seem our friend is only capable of attacking unarmed traders.

Well at least the game didn't cost me anything, other than a few thousand rewards points.
PVE Server and PVE zones - Preliminary announcement.

From my understanding there is going to be a ship/assest/port wipe so why all the concern with moving stuff?
As far as PVE server being removed, no offense to the devs but there at least currently not enough PVE only content to keep a PVE server viable. If you doubt this, just look at that servers numbers.
