  1. i have a macintosh laptop. ox 10.6.8. i installed the new patch after installing the game. i can enter the tutorial, the main menu comes up, i can enter all the main menu topics (except gaming as described below) and i can adjust all the options, etc. however, when i try to start a new game or when i try to continue an existing game my screen goes green or olive. no maps appear, no farms, no fields, no terrain, no troops, nothing. what does this mean? the wrong video card? the game btw works fine on my desk top mac, for the most part. advice?

    new patch

i installed the new patch today, 2/24/15. after installing, several issues came up. first, i could not continue any previously saved games. when i hit continue all that came up on the screen was the map. fields, farms, orchards, roads, etc. no data. no units. no anything else. second, after trying two times to continue a game i initiated a new game. after playing the new game for about 5 minutes the entire screen went black, then i had to hard restart. third, after trying a second time to start a new game, i played that game for about 5 minutes and same thing, black screen, no response, hard restart. this game has so much potential if all the bugs can be worked out. until they are, it's very frustrating and perhaps not worth playing.
  4. i agree with aggressive kunst. it's a bug. this can't be deliberately coded into the game. to have units flee like flying geese, never to come back again? or never to reload again? it's a bug. if it's not a bug, then it needs to be corrected in the code.
  5. is it a bug when a brigade breaks in its morale and ends up flying like geese off the entire map, into oblivion, never to be seen from again, even though a corp commander stays next to it the whole time trying to rally it? this has to be a bug. to have an entire brigade flee off the entire map can't be what a programer coded into the game. in real life, brigades never fled entirely out of the theatre of operations. fix it please. it really takes away from this game.
  6. in the gaming industry, there is an old saying. do you want accuracy or playability? skip differentiating between smoothbores and rifled canon. next thing you know you'll differentiate between .69 and .57 caliber rifles for infantry. in the spirit of playability, i would suggest for artillery that when you click on the battery's icon that you get an overlay that describes the field of fire, and within that field of fire it's either red (for being within the line of sight and elevations, etc) or it's black (showing areas where you cannot fire). that would help to determine whether a battery can fire.
  7. i hope this patch does away with the game's propensity to make a broken unit run all the way across the map and into oblivion, never to be seen again. the unit simply runs away from the battlefield. this would never have happened in reality. a broken unit might not be effective but it doesn't cease to exist. this nasty habit needs to be changed.
