This was me last night.  I did a circle around KPR area starting from the north.  Clan mates had been raiding on the south side of the island and was heading back.  I was late to the show so decided I'll just circle the island and head back.  Sure enough just south of Savanana La Mar I run right into a Mercury with a Trader Brig in fleet. Tag him.  I Go right after his Trader Brig. I figure it's prob empty on the way to go get something in Dutch land or south Brits holdings.   He takes off.  I do a quick cap, no cargo.  Scuttle ship and escape.  I head south.  Same path he was going.  His invisibility goes off and I'm set on course with him.  Tag....battle goes on and my surprise sinks him, get some repairs.   Noticed I"m out of sail repairs so better get home.   I head back after a nice run.   Two less British ships on the OW and the trader brig prob hit hard on his econ.   We catch these guys all day long making these runs.

Bitches about never getting PvP and such, than admits he never leaves port.  I'll be bluntly honest with you man.

Sounds like this might be the game for you.....if you don't get out you won't find something.  You have to make that first step. Bitching about not getting PvP and sitting in port is not the games problem, it's your problem.

*SNICKERS* Is i it WO?   Yah they hit us pretty good the first week.  Just glad they our out bugging some one else.  Though we watch for ya'll and Brits making that run all the time tagging solo guys most of them don't even escort with a war ship,  just a solo Trader Brig. Easy pickings for a Pirate or Privateer.

@Mrdoomed I figure your having a field day with the easy targets.

Yes i am loving the easy prey.....my concern is the inevitable power creep that means people have outposts everywhere and a revenge gank squad awaits after every kill. Till then its like a turkey shoot.

Thats because you are not looking for one. October patch killed solo hunting, killed trader hunting, killed conquest pvp. Hence why so many people left.

After this patch I find 1000 timer more pvp than I could in Feb. Go to high populated areas. Ask around where those areas are. If you dont like KPR go to freshly taken territories. They took them for a reason.

you are correct. and clearly highlighted the issue from my side,  i have to do these things for the RvR game and cant actually PVP which i would prefer to do because a stupid god damn hello kittying timesink with this population......turn it back on already turn it off later but atm its hello kittying annoying.....people are not sailing to KPR even with goods but a comfort feature is off because they are masochists.

I'm trying to move my ships from one outpost to another and I cant tow to harbour.  So i have to waste my time in the game not PVPing because the world is too big and under populated and the devs are constantly trying to get players to quit the game by remove comfort features that led to players seeking PVP instead of sailing around tab out playing other games, watching tv  and having a wank.

I want to play pvp and will but cant because i have to sail all over the place doing the RvR thing...its not risky its just annoying...i'd rather devout my time to PVPing and just wait for the ship to arrive in a day for the rvr thing......they are distracting me away from action.

MY COMPLAINT IS I CANT GET AWAY FROM SAILING PLACES.

age of snorefest more like. i see why the trope of sailers being gay exist now(i mean who wouldn't want to pass the time ), i played for 2 hours and got nothing to show for it due to sailing about looking for ships to attack and didn't find jack shit. if the devs are so sure they want a real "experience" of the age of sail maybe they'll add diseases so i can hurry up and die <_<

guess what no one attacked me....that makes zero OW engagements since wipe but plenty of hours sailing the open seas........and 9 movies watched.

My underlined emphasis above.

What we do not realize is that Netflix secretly underwrote the last patch.

not really, some are trying to play the RnR game which isnt going to liven up for a while because empty ports and conquest mark resource farm grind.  and some stay in kpr to get their ships stolen by pirates.

this was caused by day 1 issues where GB didnt have coal and had to sail to cartagena or conil to get a port with it or run the gauntlet to road town. effectively making GB spread while others could just arm.

4 days later they give us a port but the damage on forced spreading was done.  Not that KPR is a good starting spot anyways.   The map doesnt work for RnR the way it is on global.  even with the resources now.  in fact, i'd go so far as to say the design is fatally flawed as a RnR game.

I have seen almost all of the evolution of the game and although i think the devs have made some bad decisions along the way i think the premise has to change from every port being a conquest idea to having it as pirates vs nations on building trade routes and protecting them etc.

it just doesn't work this way and even if it did its never going to work with unbalanced nations.....I wish it would and I am going to keep trying to get the RnR game to work but really i think the best we can get is organizing clan vs clan based alliances with trade being the method of owning land with people trying to trade and people trying to stop the trade.
