Treasure hunt

Would be nice to have some extra events something like treasure hunt.

 

Maps could be looted from AI or dropped in PB's. Using it would activate event somewhere in the sea in unused waters far from islands. 

Event would be active for lets say 24 hours. So players have to team up and act fast.

 

You would need to fight 3-4 first rates which is escort for 3-4 trading vessels that carrying expensive goods.

Good income for clans or big groups.

 

Once event activated enemy nations can enter too. 

More pvp and big ships(money) sink system.

 

Maps would be possible to trade so it could be sold on auction.

 

 

 

 

 

Anyone is free to add something else to this idea.

I do love the idea but with a slight change.

The escort you're going to face should auto-scale to the group that's attacking.

 

I mean 3 to 4 first rate ships is end game play for sure and not everyone will be able to participate. I'd like these missions to open up to anyone. 

Well you could say that the escort will be made up of 3 ships minimum to make it almost impossible to do solo but those 3 to n ships will have their class adapted to the highest rank ship that enters the instance.

I would say instead of writing more complicated codes they could use system that already in place.

 

Maps:

Basic

Common

Fine

Master Craft 

Exceptional 

 

Accordingly when 'Use' map events would spawn.

Small ships (Escort)

Less/smaller trading vessels

and so on...

 

Events already in game . Ships already in game. trading vessels and loots already in game.

All they have to do is add 'Maps/Journals' and link them all together :)

Just add something similar to missions, kill and an NPC get a chance to find treasure map. Open it, get a map with treasure location and try to find it. 

Admins was asking for some big event that could be added to the game.

I think group of 20+ players trying to get a treasure from few AI uncapturable 1st rates while other nations  trying to sink them too on the way back or right inside the treasure battle seams like pretty big event :)

Looking/searching for treasure also good to have in game but this would be for single players. More for those who like to spend time exploring.

How about this idea:

 

Combined with a new system of orientation.

From beginning we have no worldmap.

We have to paint it by ourself with some tools the devs implement into the game. So there wont be an 100% acurate map of the world like it was in real.

We will be able to buy parts of maps with gold other player painted or spawned by the system. We would always have to work on to complete our world map.

And now we will have to depot/save our Gold in diffrent kind of chests crafted by others and also bought.

This chests we have to bring to some kind of bank/place where it will cost gold/time.

"Treasurefleets should be born by big clans to bring the most gold away to their countries in Europe."

Saver but that would costs Ships for NPC and Time to bring that Gold back when needed"  The treasure fleets also had to be escorted by Players.

That would also give some chance to make booty.

 

The other possibility would be to find a good place where we can bury it, especially as a Pirate.

Now we would have to paint our own map with our own riddles,puzzles,marks. That would cost nothing.

That would cause a treasure hunt like it was in  "Pirates" on c64.

 

The game also would need a system of bountyhunting.

We all know player we dont like, because they stole our booty like ships.

Now we could go to the gouvernor, harbourwall, pirateking or scumbar and write a "dead or alive" letter on the head of the player we want to.

We would pay a part of gold before or after we get some item as an evidence that he was hunted. This Item could be the maps or his Treasuremap :) or the key for his chest.

That would mean he would lose all his maps.

The maps would be gone but the treasure belongs to the person who will find it first. So it will be a race from now to find the treasure.

 

If the prey doesnt have a treasure, he should get another malus depending on XP or gold on his Bank,or biggest ship he owns.

 

That just an idea and i hope that there are other good or even better ideas which fits together.
