Black Screen in Combat

I was in combat alongside honorable fellow French players fighting off a swarm of pesky accursed redcoats this past weekend - when all of a sudden my screen turned black after a few minutes of action (it must have been from the blood dripping from my brow and all of the smoke - as I was in tight quarters when this event occurred).  There were only French ships on my side - but there may have been an American runt or two in the opposing mix (which goes to show how much they really value our aid in helping them get rid of the reds - pfff).  I could hear the cannon shots and shouts but could not see a thing.  Thus, after a couple of unsuccessful ALT + Tab, I had to CTRL + ALT + DEL to kill the script and restart the game.  I rejoined the battle after a couple of precious minutes (just in time to get a few more shots off before sinking). 

Do we know if that's a graphic car issue?  I have not had this kind of problem before.

Make sure you have the latest GPU drivers, check intregrity of game cache (right click on NA in steam lib->properties->local files). Also for a while monitor GPU temperature when you play the game to make sure your GPU is not overheating (programs like GPU-Z).

Thank you sir - I will check the integrity and drivers.  I am confident it was not a temperature related issue, as when that happens the fans goes into jet engine like overdrive - which did not happen.
