Diplomacy and Loyalty

Recommended Posts

Hard for me to translate whole idea properly, but I'l try to share... This is solution of rebels problem I purpose looking on DRUNK and other similiar clans, who doesn't support peace agreements. This is solution also for few other things, more or less highlitened by some guys here on forum.

Lets bring diplomacy to level of Clans, not nation. We have 8 nation, but I'm not sure we should have chaos in relation between them.

1. War between nations must be set randomly and it must be one or two wars for fixed amount of time.

Example:

King of Denmark declare war to Britain. If you wan't more, then King of Swerige declare war to Spain also. Kings isn't real players and they will generate randomly. Now we have 4 nations involved in war. Other 4 nations is neutral. War will last for one month, for example. Rules of territory changes should be also slowed down for sake of remove such epic port jumps. Win in this war should motivate pvp.

Random war will give more patiens and tolerance for community, because your enemy can be your ally next month.

2. Now, when we have 2 or 4 fighting nations, lets give each clan, who belongs to other 4 neutral nation ability to choose their Loyalty to any of nation in war, if they want to, or stay neutral untill next month. If your clan wan't to stay in pvp, being one from neutral nation, you choose Loyalty by pressing button or making some agressive act like current forced Pirate roll looks. After some clans from different nations will choose their Loyalty they all doesn't count neutral anymore. They become friendly to their own neutral nation, other neutral nations and to side in war, which loyalty they choose. All clans with opposite loyalty, including nation in war and her loyal clans, become their enemy despite nation, they belong before. At the End it looks like mass of players, working around win of they choosen side in war vs opposite side.

3. Forbid free enter for ships of "loyal" clan to own neutral nation ports. Let them use only those ports, which belong to their lead nation in war as base. This restriction could include or not trader ships.

What we get:

1. No democrasy with forcing minority to do as majority said. Each clan is free to choose what to do, except maybe those, their King declare war. Well, at the end all nation could get in war state sooner or later and this is equal for all.

2. No rebel clans. They could get war in legit way facing enemy as intended, instead of striking back, while tribunal topic flows.

3. Noone push you to war, if you are lucky being neutral and want peace for some time.

4. Full outside of game diplomacy with talking between clans as main tool of coordination. What you do in game - just formalize results by choosing Loyalty.

5. More friendly community.

6. One or two big transnational wars. We got it anyway just now.

Its not perfect in this state, but all could be solved here to give us nice Diplomacy, without ingame votes, polls, or councils. Easy Breazy.

Can't say this is ultimate answer, but it can be usefull anyway.

Thoughts?
