AI Fleet alerts

ok this is actualy 2 diffrent suggestions in 1.

 

currently our AI fleets seem to be there just to be attacked or as nice scenery on the high sea's.. i think they could be so much more.

 

 

1. when a faction declares a port battle on another the defending factions AI fleets in the area would move towards said port and begin patroling for enemies. any players of the faction that has attacked the port would be agroed by the AI fleets. it only seems logical that a national navy would react to a attack on there port.. the whole sitting around playing with themselves makes no sense. i would not be pulling ships from Flrorida in order to protect saint peire but any thing within say 50 nortical miles would normaly react to this sort of thing. you would also set all other fleets from both side to be agro aganist the other factions fleets during time of this port battle. after that they can go back to what they were doing when they got pulled away..

 

 

2. Motherland AI fleets. when a faction is on the ropes as is getting hammered that nations mother land would send a AI Fleet on a Fort assualt on one of that factions resently owned lands(taken in the last 24hrs). they would anouce it like a normal player assault as they got near it but would not be taken from the nationals limit on fort assualts. meaning why a AI fleet was doing a assualt a player fleet could decide to do another assualt. 

 

as you would only get say 30mins warning of impending fleet i dont feel any side would be dis-advantaged. would make it 5 fleets of 5 ships with the flag carrying fleet to have the bigger ships. would not over pop these fleets with 1st rates and 3rd rates but you would give them a hefy amount say min of 10 1-3 rates rest 4th and 5ths.

 

this would make the game so much more fun as those with higher numbers laying down the pain would suddenly have to be weary of being counter invaided by a ai fleet and they would get the extra enjoyment of taking down large AI fleets.

 

i see it in so many games they have the NPCs but they never use them effectivly. lets make use of ours :)

hmm i am suprised no one had any comments on this also i thought alittle more on the invasion fleet and i felt it was also inportant that a fleet of this type would have escort ships that would escort the 5 fleets to the the port i would say 4 groups of 5 6th and 7th rate ships. this would seem more realistic to have escort ships supporting a invasion fleet.

 

one of my clan mates has also suggested that once politics are setup maybe have it so the leader of a faction (or leaders) could some how effect patroling patterns for AI ships and setting up what agro levels fleets should have to each faction.

 

i think we can all agree AI fleets as they currently are are just eye candy and occasion source of ships to be broken up for blue prints and parts.
