  1. this isn't technically true HMS Rodney sailed alone the Prince of Wales and repulse never had escorts when they were sunk and there was the Bismarck who only had one heavy cruiser with it for protection there was many more instances in ww2 where battleships would sail alone usually because of lack of escort ships or through arrogance but it did happen fairly often.
  2. I was wondering if its possible to add buttons in designer so we can adjust the barbette, guns and tower sizes when we build a ship. at the moment we have a middle ground with the scale of the ship components and they are far from historically accurate but look ok on all size hulls I just thought that being able to customize the sizes would give us the ability to build more accurate ships.
  3. I'm loving the mod so far. there's just a couple of minor issues I have noticed Greece kingdom should be changed to Kingdom of Greece Brazil Republic should be Brazilian Republic although Greece can be difficult to play financially I find that with the tiny starting funds you Can not build enough ships to upset the ottomans and as a result your relations improve and the threat from a larger nation disappears possibly giving the player a little more starting funds may fix this.
  4. completely agree with how anoying the Ai is when selecting guns. is it possible to add a separate tertiary line of guns for the 2-3 inch guns with there own separate ammunition slider possibly even a smaller model of a 2 inch gun so that we can add .50 and 20mm guns to the ships.
  5. I know your limited by the code you have access to but is it possible to change bulkhead positions to be more realistic? at the moment we have bulkheads dividing ships from top to bottom and from bow to stern but there's no bulk heads separating the ship from port to starboard, if this could be changed then sinking ships would be far more difficult and I think it will aid the ai survivability even When there building ships with ridiculously thin armour schemes.
  6. would the slow down in loading times be down to the game only running on a single core and adding more files increasing the work of that core
  7. i play on legendary and GDP and GDP growth seem fine to me as for Britain being the most advanced and powerful nation in the early years of this game its historically accurate the US didn't catch up to European nations in naval technology till the late 1920-1930s maybe even later barao has done a good job with how each nation unlock technology and there GDP/GDP growth it gives each nation there own set of challenges even when playing as Britain you can have a difficult time balancing the hundreds of ships needed to protect its empire against the naval budget build to many super advanced max sized ships to soon and you go bankrupt very quickly but if you don't build enough ships your land army suffers and you lose transports everywhere when war starts so to me the economy and technology seems to be well balanced.
  8. hi Barao i don't know if this is an issue anyone else is facing but in my latest campaign the AI seem to be really struggling to build a decent BB they seem to be fixated on using as many 17 inch guns as much as possible but are only using 9inch of belt armour and deck armour is usually under 1 inch. in 1890-1900 this amount of armour is adequate for a bb but I'm now in 1927 and they are ridiculously easy to sink, i was thinking that maybe the bb hulls need to have there minimum armour raised by an inch or two to help the Ai when they are designing ships or even having the minimum belt armour set to what these ships historically used for example a dreadnaughts minimum armour in game is 7 inch but if its raised to 10 to 12 inch thick that way the ai will already have an ok amount of armour when designing a new ship and can only increase thickness if it wants to and not make paper ships as for other ship classes the ai seem to be making ok ships there DDs and cruisers seem to be decent enough to overwhelm and destroy bigger slower ships that don't have adequate protection from lighter ships this could be an issue that only I'm facing and the Ai has just decided that it doesn't need armour in this campaign overall the mod is great and improves the game massively
  9. i don't think it had anything to do with the British pounding them in the dockyards people seem to forget how much more advanced British guns and armour were at the time and for the Graf Spee to compete with a British 8 inch cruiser it needed to have a gun that could match the range and penetration although the 11 inch couldn't match the fire rate of the 8 inch it made the Graf Spee capable of going up against other cruisers and ships of her size it was the same for the Yamato her 18.1s were equivalent to the British and American 15/16 inch guns but with a far slower reload rate
  10. im going to have a go at editing gun sizes to suit my personal use i like to build my ships to historical size and weight and i know you edited gun size to a happy medium where they look balanced across all ships but for me they are still much to big what just wanted to know where to find the gun sizes
  11. Great mod i am really enjoying playing dreadnaughts now because of this mod but i do have a few questions/ ideas im not any good at mods so i don't know if its possible to change the single 7 inch British gun to a more realistic open turret by using an upsized 5" or 6" gun model and if its at all possible to give/use both unarmoured and armoured secondary turret designs and being able to keep all different primary gun designs useable just with increased stat to match the mk of gun unlocked thanks for the great mod keep up the hard work its much appreciated
