  1. I have a very frustrating issue with the game.

I've built a ship that's very heavy on torpedo launchers. 25x 24-inch torps per side. Year: 1950.

In combat my ship was 1.5 km away from the target.

    Target was selected.

All launchers ready, not destroyed, loaded and pointed at the enemy. Torpedoes set to aggressive launch.

The ship just refused to launch whatsoever.

In this battle I had 7 of these ships. Most of them flatout refused to launch.

And before you mention it: yes, there were friendly ships in the way at times, but that never stopped the AI from launching anyway.

Extremely frustrating, especially since this was for a competitive video.

  2. Hey guys,

Do you think it's possible to make a fog of war mod?

Right know you as a player have perfect information on enemy ships. From fuel to crew complement down to the exact number of shells. It makes the game too easy, at least for me.

Would it be possible to create a mod that removes this information for the player? This could make the game more challenging.

Not a modder myself so no idea if this is possible.

    Cheers,

    Stealth

The person that did the most videos and post popular CC posted this yesterday:

Stealth17 Gaming with 575 Videos on This Game Said This:

Hey guys, I've just recorded my last video for Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts.

It will be airing on Monday.

    "Last episode?!" Yes.

The game is a complete mess right now with a ton of game-breaking bugs that make it entirely unenjoyable for me to play and for you to watch.

I simply cannot make good content with the current version of Dreadnoughts. Over the past 2 years I've had a lot of fun with Dreadnoughts but it's time to move on as the game is not worth playing/buying right now.

With that, what comes next? I'd like your input on that. What game would you like to see me feature on the channel?

I hope this gets approved by the moderators, this speaks volume for feedback of 1.09, one of the most biggest CC's besides people like Brother Munro at 505 videos, is just straight up quitting creating content for this game due to the issues.

You look up on youtube and just type in "ultimate admiral dreadnoughts" and see Both Brother Munro, and Stealth17, with one or two other content creators sprinkled here and there with majority of "front" page being Stealth17, with even his CHANNEL being the first thing that comes up, even on a vpn and a "incognito" tab to remove all the cookies, and location Stealth17 is there on the front page as if he was the only CC there.

With Stealth17 having 38,881,705 views on his channel, while the second place with amount of videos being again, BrotherMunro at a smaller size of 3,474,750, it is clear that Stealth17 was a large CC for this game in total, while BrotherMunro, even if his content was great, and almost as large as Stealth17 in amount of video, a large content creator leaving due to bugs, and overall disappointment is going to leave a large amount of free publicity, and aswell youtube content removed due to the issues.

I purchased the game due to Stealth17, and now he is just quitting the game due to issues..

It speaks alot about how 1.09 is at.

Stealth had an extremely damning video posted today. Short version is he is done with the game.

I am very sad it has come to this. I've been a big advocate of Dreadnoughts. I've hopefully shown how good the game can be and how far it still has to go.

When a lot of game breaking bugs are resolved (I always write bug reports) I might return to the game. Therein lies the caveat: throughout the two years that I've covered and followed the game I've seen a lot of "we've fixed X bug" in patch notes and more times than I'd like the bugs simply weren't resolved. Victory points being misattributed, ships fleeting battles, the formation system: I've seen they were fixed or improved a lot of times only to be disappointed.

I hope the devs will surprise me with a complete turnaround of the game and its bugs.

  4. I feel this is a bug that's been reported time and time again:

When my ships enter a battle in a damaged state, the AI always get victory points, as if they damaged them.

Even when you win the battle and don't take much/any damage, the AI still gets the points

Please, fix this, as it's just plain unfair to the players.

    Thanks

I present to you the mighty HMS Inflexible, the latest capital ship of His Majesty's navy! Featuring twelve (yes, twelve!) 14" guns in three quadruple turrets, in 1923, and absolutely nothing in the way of armour, internal subdivision, or secondary armament, these blisteringly-fast battlecruisers will surely show the Boche what's what in the name of the King. Britannia rules the waves!

As predicted, they had absolutely no armour, piss-poor module selection, and minimum bulkheads. All four were sunk within the opening stages of the match, and the newly-broken formation system prevented my Queen Elizabeths from forming a cohesive battleline before the German dreadnoughts smashed them to pieces.

Oh well. I guess I'll just go back to waiting for modern British towers.

The 30k ton battlecruisers going along were far more threatning with their 3x triple 33 cm.

Jokes aside, Im pretty sure this will be the absolute worst nightmare of any light/medium ship, its a somewhat fast for a 90 thousand ton battleship, its armor is decent, and that is a strong 24" torpedo armament...

But I dont think lots of butterflies can destroy a tank... especially one with 55 cm of side armor...

Also, the AI used huge barbettes for these tiny guns...

And, if you are ever in this situation, make sure to add a 17.8 cm double to further increase the accuracy penalty.

In this parallel universe, the US Navy's famously competent Bureau of Ordnance takes one look at the truly awful Ise-class carrier battleship and decides "I want one of those! But we're constitutionally obliged to add MORE GUNS."

This was since justified by the ship being so front-heavy that the aft deck can be used as a ski jump in heavy waves.

We round out this month's clown ship appreciation post with What In The Cinnamon Toast Shrimp F--k Is That, a conceptual sculpture by an anonymous 1940s American artist. In fact, it works exceptionally well.
This stupid design I came up with at 4 AM after having only a Mountain Dew for breakfast preforms better than most of the BC's the AI throws at me in campaigns and custom battles.

  6. I've been doing testing with high explosive and I've been finding it too effective. In my opinion it deserves a nerf.

HE is always more effective: it does more damage than AP. Sometimes I get pens and flooding with HE whereas AP just bounces off, even when I'm running the highest end AP type on massive guns.

Even a destroyer can kill a battleship with HE, so long as you give it all the bonuses to HE fire chance, or even just enough time to kill the BB's crew.

This is making the game a set-and-forget game for me: I can tell my destroyer to just stay with the enemy and HE spam it. If I use a destroyer that's small and fast I can just go AFK and I know I will win. It requires 0 skill or strategy.

Please, nerf HE. Make AP more important. Make angling and positioning mean something.

If I wanted braindead HE spam I'd play World of Warships.

  7. Hey guys,

In all the campaigns I've completed I've sunk dozens and dozens of convoys.

It's like the AI just doesn't care. It certainly doesn't seem to criple their economy.

I wasn't serious about submarines being added. I think this person saw my Battleship Submarine video and thought they're adding submarines. What I did was edit a save file and reduce the draught by 90%.

Last I know about submarines is that they're going to be a strategic asset on the world map, not a playable unit. That's based on my interview with the devs from way back.

  12. Thanks for the patch @Nick Thomadis. Really appreciate it :)

Afraid I've already spotted the first bug. The Austro-Hungarian fleet in 1940 has 7 battleships, 1 battlecruiser and various cruisers. Their total tonnage says only 25.000 tons though, which allows me to blockade them.

Their battleships are 98.000 tons, so not small either.

I am also getting warnings for Admiral Dönitz a mere 3 months into the campaign about his excessive naval spending, even though their naval budget is fine.
