Perhaps a little bit of history is of the essence to put things in perspective. Remember in alpha when the pirates were totally crushed by the USA in the Caribbean? I was part of them at the time and within a few weeks, we had lost most ports, Mortimer was being camped 24/24 and it was pretty much impossible to play pirate.

Well we organized, picked one of the few very far initial pirate ports (namely, Aves, which wasn't a Free Port back then) and from there we launched attacks on the French and pretty much took all of their ports. We then moved against the Brits which had several ports north of the French... Then the Swedes, Danes, Dutch, etc. Nothing could stop us!

That said there were lots of clans, most of which had different opinions on what to do next and eventually the great pirate alliance folded on itself, over half the active/bigger players left for either the Dutch or Great Britain and within the span of a few days, the pirates were almost dead, unable to even defend shallow ports.

The takeaway here is that the bigger a nation becomes and the more aggressive it gets, the more likely people are likely to defect or simply not work along towards common objectives and eventually it all comes tumbling down.

Russia is the biggest but they won't be forever. At some point another nation is going to pick up steam and the sheep will flock to the new herd then everyone can bitch about the new world order.

If there is one suggestion I'd like to make that was already proposed 3+ years ago is to allow National packs, let the smaller nations form alliances allowing the alliance members to participate in battles. This would allow the struggling nations to ally with bigger or other smaller powers to ensure their survival/protection.

Big difference is that now it is quite costly to change nations, and upgrade your shipyards and buildings and stuff again..alot of people cannot be bothered to do that and just stay..

  2. Seems that atleast REDS and BF didnt wamt to steamroll the entire server, and had the intrest of the game at hearth, the other russian clans not so much it seems..(many of them defaulters from other nations)

Seems They are just gonna conquer without regard for shipbuilding ports/ other players.

If shipcrafting ports fall, people will quit simple as that..

Gb lost many 1th rates now and can only muster AI 1th rates atm..so easy picking for pb ships..

But hey well see, playing with 200 again is fun too right?

Oh yes, because weak crew space capped ships will always work against full port bonus ships right? Allowing people to cap lineships is only going to make things worse

Yeah now we will have gank squad with 1th rates outside kpr, as is already being proven..1th rate has been around kpr for days ganking newbs now.

Also well have people scared of losing stuff entering pb with crap ships faking and saying " no its my fully upgraded pb wo/wo one" whilst being in an oak/fir grey one

Ppl are not Selling ships at a prober Price. The Price for a ship is so outraged High, I simply can’t afford them. Lower your price closer to your actually cost and you will see them going in record time.

Yes but if you want to.make  a profit on a ship it should be high , caus the dubloon cost of an aggy is already 500k reals...(2500 dubloons x 200 reals is above 500k reals) so anyone selling an aggy below 500k is already loosing money..

  5. Why not keep it way simpler? @admin

    Spy mission

Same as passenger mission but you have to do this with a warship, deliver a spy to enemy coast or port. Just have a small countdown 10secs or so to deliver in front of port or area in ow..means more warships sailing everywhere..instead of empty tbrigs as is now

    Trade fleet

Few indiamans with small escort sail an announced route once a day or twice a day, people can just get a small group together sail there fight them and others that come to take the fleet.

    Small pvp raids.

Have a random port raid you can pick up, sail to that port attack the mission destroy a few harboured (sails down ships near the harbour) take chests from them..defending nation can jump in and fight you getting pvp and some rewards.

    Small pve raids.

Have a group of ai 5th (or different rates) attack players near a port, not by a port battle but just by sailing there and attacking any players near that port..they can carry rare upgrades or rare guns as rewards for players sinking them.

Tadaa Easy to make content that doesnt affect players that much when they fail aka upgraded port gets taken, makes people quit the game as its gonna be now.

Anyway nice to see you communicating and implemting new stuff

  6. Maybe the 1th time a raid happen people will be curious and defend, after that they wont and will be annoyed by it happening agaim, after a while there will be only a few defenders and the port will get taken, then everyone will say f#ck this and leave the game..it will be fun once, but after that it will be annoying, people wont be bothered to defend and when the port get taken it will lead to people leaving the game..

Why so drastic again? Why not start with 10 5th rates attacking everything near te port? Let them carry good rewards for example.

Why 20 buffed lineships?..why a huge chance at the port being taken by AI..people want content, not a crafting port taken by AI and loosing everything, people will quit because of this..

Just make fun raids from small ships to larger squadrons attacking random ports, make it defendable for smaller player numbers..now we just have a portbattle against cheating AI...

With a sad try of a convoy in there with the indiamans thrown in..

Just have the indiaman fleet with escort pop up some times in OW routes, and sqUadrons of different rates ship attacking ships round a port, boom, 2 simple methods of content without huge influx of people.leaving the game when a crafting port gets capped

  7. And i thought raids would be that a group of players got some random raid assigned to attack/raid a port without capturing it..i guess i was wrong..

This is not a raid, this is cheating AI capping ports aka a pve portbattle..

@admin what will happen with te pb when a port gets capped? Will they be back if we take it back?

I swear if my crafting port gets taken by cheating AI, im not gonna retake and rebuild it im just gonna quit the game.

As will a lot of players, takes ages to fully up crafting ports, if people lose it most wont wanna invest all that time and effort again, they will just quit, and so will i

If players cannot united for kick Russian Empire from Caribbean then players will fight against NPC.

I think it is more correct.

All topics can be rephrased. We are so lazy, let the developers do something with the Russian Empire

Could you do a graph of population % per nation again? See if its roughly the same as at release, or if we have many folks who went to the easy side

Exactly :), personally i used to play another game or watch a film when sailing.... until i realised i may as well cut the processing power used by NA as i got more fun from whatever else i had been doing.

This! Game is a job and a boring one with sometimes a fun fight, how can the devs not unserstand watching that something is wrong if players are looking netflix or playing other games whilst playing naval action.

  10. Also better explanation/tutorials..

Trading is nowhere explainend everyday i read in chat " why cant i deliver passengers?"   Beacuse You need a trade ship

Port bonusses/crafting/wood typed is nowhere explained.

    Port battles/hostility/frontline nowhere explained.

And many other things are not explained at all.

  11. Great stuff, and now we have al those modern day tools, navigation, safety precautions etc, i can only imagine how life must have been on a frigate 200 years ago..damn hard life for sure.

    Its called the Peace Server.

An with attitudes like this, the war server will be pretty peacefull soon aswell, population numbers are already dropping again.

Almost all MMO's have no-pvp area's, there are alot of players who lile to do a bit of everything, just like me..

Sometimes i like to pvp, sometimes i like to fight AI to get away from the gank squads, sometimes i like to craft and trade..

A nice middleground with a safe no pvp area must be possible and it will do only good for the game, and raise player numbers.

I cannont understand why you sealclubbers are so incredible stubborn, the only reason the previous safe-zones didnt work was because it was some lame - half hearted attempt.

The sealclubber way doesnt work for sure either, and will surely get this game killed.

Well moving those bonuses from ports to crafters could mean more mobility between nations and less 'all is lost' moments when a port is taken..

    Exactly this!

Also more variety on the ship market, instead of "i only want 55point port ships, ill just make a russian alt to have acces to those ships"

And an even ground for solo players instead of now " youre not on our clan friendlists so gl with your non port bonus ships no-one wants..

Also more cooperation between in-clan crafters and specific roles of crafters instead of everyone can craft anything.

And more rvr because not to much happens when a big port gets captured where as now players will quit if their fully upgraded port gets capped, and countries refuse to do rvr because they dont want players to leave and refuse to rvr

Or simple remove ship upgrades and books and keep everything vanilla only with the wood stats besides this nothing else so no grinding needed for "special upgrades" for pvp

To be fair, upgrades and stuff also gives incentive to play and gather and craft stuff, also a bit of diversity, otherwise the game would get very stale and boring, there is already not much to do in this game

  15. Suggestion:

Remove port bonusses and let people pick a direction(perks/port bonusses) when they lvl up crafting, making crafters choose a specific few bonusses they can pick, you wanna specialise in gunnery and sail fine pick those perks and level them. But you cannot have them all.

This will give solo players a chance at the market aswell, and alot of crafters can make ships the way they want them instead of hoping that a clan will add you to friends and upgrade the port the way you like..and eleminating other nations who dont have a 55point port.

Clans will have to get specialised crafters, some craft pb ships(tanky and gunnery) while others can craft the hunting ships (sailing etc)

This will remove the silly port bonusses and level the playing field a bit imo..

    Thoughts?
