They are earned simply by completing certain campaigns. You may have to win the final 'grant' battle to earn the medal. Also, medals can be earned based on the difficulty of the campaign.
Can we please get some kind of alert in this game so we know when we've received reinforcements? It could be something as simple as a bugle call or drum/fife cadence.
Most of the time I'm tunnel visioned on the troops on the field that I don't see the alert that I have reinforcements arriving....
All these responses are immensely insightful and appreciated. When forming new divisions, I always have a hunch in determining; should I create a skirmisher unit or a dismounted cavalry unit.
Dismounted cavalry are essentially skirmishers with the same weapons as skirmishers. Is there a point in using dismounted cavalry? I find that I have more luck and success using cavalry as shock troops to dismantle routed enemy units.
I'm currently preparing for the battle of Fredericksburg and was wondering if I should have ALL shock cavalry?
Thanks!
Which artillery piece do you prefer? For whatever reason, my 10LB Ordnance cannons seem to do more damage than the 10LB Parrott's. Perhaps I'm deploying the Parrots incorrectly? And also, is it just me or do the 20LB Parrott's seem useless?
Can I make a suggestion? I would love to see the ability to CHOOSE our avatar prior to the start our campaign. This would be a welcomed addition, in my opinion.
What is the most efficient way to level up my Officers & Generals? Is there some kind of formula that would expedite the promotion process? As of now, I have a three star brigade commanded by a Brig General. I always use the three star brigade in heavy combat around the VPs - but other officers around him are getting promoted faster...
Already at the battle of Antietam. Some big name Generals were killed in the fight including; Hancock & McDowell (both Major Generals). Losing them was a tough pill to swallow. Name a few Generals that you've lost already that you miss having in your OOB.
