I will also add the real Dutch who had honor and never broke a deal was Q and ration s silvery. These guys knew how to do diplomacy and agree on land and not attack our ports in prime time and yet we agreed on one port to be attacked for pvp purposes.
funny how the Dutch have us and Brit re rolls and instead of making a reputation for themselves and do there own thing they are mere puppets for big brother US/Brit.
When I first started playing this game Brit and US camped Mortimer for 3 weeks straight and at the time US and Brit were allies. Then AUS clan showed some balls and decided it was time for a change of pace and went to war against US.
The picture I'm trying to paint is sometimes a change is good for a server and different diplomacy to keep things fresh. We the players make the community and game strong and if the big clans can't step up and man up then RIP server.

It's funny the Dutch seem to forget who gave them all their ports back uncontested so they could grow. Pirates did (BLACK clan) same as we did with the French we gave them ports back as per the server agreement to give small nations 5 ports to grow.
Who liberated Spain from the evils of the USA? BLACK clan did in the interested of server health. Yet instead of giving 5 ports we gave 10.
Yet the big power houses the USA and GB have done zero for server health or let new players or nations grow. When we Pirates assisted these nations the server was well alive. New people were joining and could trade and grow. I come back to the game after a break and think how hypocritical is GB and Cordovas own words we will never take a nation down to one port.
Now you might say we took GB down to one port and it's a bit hypocritical but don't forget we have them 5 ports back as per the small nation agreement. The picture is we as a clan have honor and have never lied to any nation or broke a deal. Yet we as a clan try to invigorate the server and make operations and go to war and yet people worry about history repeating. We have moved on the ones who worry about history repeating havnt.
Yet all I see is tears oh people are leaving or jumping ship. Guess what Pirates only have one real clan yet we don't come here crying about it that other clans have moved to pvp1.

Nationals have allliances and port battles.
Pirates should have port raids and no port battles.
that would balance it out, don't see why nationals need to raid as they can build buildings in captured ports and get resources. Raids would be a Pirates way to gather resources.

I played solid for 6 months in helping lead the BLACK clan with numerous victories. Had a break.
some entertainment to refresh your mind.

Joba you nailed it in that post. On the weekend someone said hey Loco what you going to do I said charge at them and ram them with my Santi they won't be expecting it. When I looked behind me I had 4 boats in a line following me. Was it planned. No. Spur of the moment seeing the US fleet sitting in the cap zone more worried about points and all I wanted was kills. Don't care if we lose a battle it's the tonnage I want.

Sadly, the 46 hour timing on PB's hurts when you have people playing on weekends - only to have PB's scheduled at very inconvenient times on a Monday or Tuesday.
You may not appreciate it, but you are not seeing 5am eastern USA PB's now - the last few are around 7am so more players could join.
I hate to admit the flag system was better we had more players on then. Just limit flags to 2 per nation/ alliance that can be bought or one flag per 3-4 hours would have been a better option.

But I will say much respect for the French sticking it to the other nations and standing up for server health. They are the real winners at the moment in my eyes.

The Dutch are just an extension of US and Brit players who have re-rolled thus keeping the freedom of the carebears pve environment stable.
if the Dutch wanted to make a name for themselves and prove they are worthy they should go to war with US and Brit and liven things up on the server. More players will come back.

Ive said it time and time again, your carebear alliance limits pvp. This is a pvp server, these guys leave on there own accord and no one grabbed them. Want PvP come pirates and fight everyone, want to limit your fun and sail around with no fear join carebear united.
Your big power hungry leaders who love to flip the pixel on the port do not see the bigger picture. When BLACK clan painted the map black, you all cried server health. Please give nations 5 ports blah blah its all i heard everyday and the posts on the forums nerf the pirates etc.. Pirates have nothing and we dont care and we dont cry about it. All we want is fights.
So keep screening to stop the port battle. Why not just let everyone in and have fun. I used to say back in the day (flag system) let them plant and have a battle we win or lose who cares.

Just remember Carebears, you are fighting a clan (BLACK) not the Pirate nation. Its pretty pathetic to come back to the game to see the 3 biggest nations allied. Its pvp not hold hands and throw flowers and do economy.
Want to play like that go pve.
You want server health, the 2 biggest nations US and Brit should be at war like it was last year, used to have 300 people on, now its 100. Its a joke.

Tex is right I stopped because it was boring. I got a message on the weekend epic 25v25 I said im in. Thats all it took, end game for me is 25v25 1st rate battles.

Devs screwed up with the alliance patch. This game is promoted as a sailing sandbox. Before gentleman made alliances with clans/nations we were playing a sandbox. People were diplomatic, now noobs and alts vote for safe havens to sail around with no threat.
Now it has so many rules and voting, and the big nations ally and limit pvp and player pop is low.
Yeah Ive had a break for a bit came back and the notion of grinding for a port battle is a bet meh.

Every port battle, I race our clan to be the first guy in there, as a leader I lead from the front no carebear crap. I want to be the guy firing the cannon balls first.
I came back from a break on the weekend and had a blast in the big port battle. Before the battle one of the guys said what you going to do Loco, I said charge at them, the Nelson call went up and we had a brawl.

I think the system is fine. If people dont show for a PB, then why have the attackers sit in a empty PB for 90min waiting. If no defenders show then the win should be given to the people who show up.

Until pirate mechanics happen and as devs stated in patch notes pirates will be treated as a nation. The unfortunate thing is we cannot make alliances unless they are gentleman agreements.

.I'd like to remind Loco that (discussed in post #23), there was no official alliance between GB and Black. It was voted down in GB because of the Pirate insistence they be granted both Baracoa and Port Antonio.
From my remembrance, many of us who thought it was a good idea anyway (barring the sticking point), were simply acting as if the terms had been agreed to.
I agree it was working pretty well while the US was riding high. Once they were beaten down a bit and thrown into disarray as a large clan moved from US to Pirates, however, it was a bit concerning to us who you would decide to fight, after they had collapsed. I assume plans were being made in case things changed, and the de facto alliance fell apart.
Dude who cares now patch is here time for a new chapter. Quit living in the past. Lol. This horse is flogged.
I don't have much ambition or drive to be "the best", I really just approach this game to play and have fun. That being said, I frequently see posts about Pirates feeling like everyone is against them. Some pirates thrive on it, and those I applaud. You're a pirate - the definition of a pirate is "someone who attacks and steals from ships at sea". So do that, and have fun. But don't expect a Nation to back you.You are criminals, historically speaking, EVERY Nation would hunt and kill pirates, without remorse.
Piracy is and always has been considered extremely criminal - Despite the fact that privateers were basically legalized pirates. A real Pirate was fair game for everyone. If you're tired of being targeted by all parties, don't be a pirate. If you thrive on the constant aggression and want to be at war with all nations, then be a pirate!
If you want to take part in diplomacy, legal warfare, and alliances, then join a Nation and do the Empire thing. Pirates are - according to patriots - scum and deserve to be hanged.
Long story short, be what you are, and stop trying to make your "Nation" something it's not.
Bear in mind, this isn't a discussion on Port battles, or expanding your "nation's" interest. If you're a pirate and are able to take ports, I could care less. Just don't complain when many other nations are naturally inclined to attack and destroy you.

Dude, you are totally off base. Again, you say you can see our votes. There were no votes or voting system when this went down. Why do you keep bringing this up when it didn't exist? It wasn't until the night we took Corrientes that Cordova made contact with the US. Bottom line is Pirates can't be trusted and we will leave it as that. I never felt comfortable with Cordova's negotiations with rats, so I'm glad it's clearly over.
Once again your wrong. Get your facts straight. Check the dates below. We could see where your votes where going before alliances kicked in. You had the pre-vote stage. We as Pirates and other clans questioned it and where it would put us as allies and Cordova choose to ignore it when the questions where asked. Guess he doesnt like the hard questions.

There were no "you all pacts". There was an agreement that we could take all ports west of Concepcion. We felt this included Corrientes. Again there was no voting for alliances when this all went down. But it doesn't matter. The point is the reasoning of the US/Brit alliance, and you haven't given a reason why it shouldn't exist.. You've only proven why it should.
As for no pacts are you calling the US player base liars?
Concepion is way down in the south and Corrientes is in the middle of the map. I will explain again for the 1000th time, Corrientes was a US port. We took it because Cordova said he didnt have the numbers and we were using it as a jump off point. Like all our deals with GB we were giving you that port uncontested. But you guys used that against us. Cordova said he wanted that port after we took it off US, I said give us a couple of days to get a jump over to Conttoy. He said ok. Then the next day he took it, at the same time NPG, WATCH, FEAR all said there was a non aggression pact and GB had not pulled flags on US for 2 days. During those 2 days we could see the votes on the alliance tab for you guys to go to an alliance.

Your assuming rats win 100% if you defend then we get zero resources. Thus forcing players to turn up for port battles.
You nationals can't have the whole cake lol.
