off topic, but I wonder if any women play this game, too. and old people.

that forest to the right off the church on the main road is key. Hold that and you will beat all the ass. I played as the Rebs and I held it after the chancellorsville battle with a bunch of 1200 1300 man brigades and beat them back. Put maybe 1 brigade out on the far flank to take the church point if they fall back
-
Is this one of the new battles? I must have missed it
-
what the hell is this? which battle did it come from?
-
do we have to restart the campaign again for .79?
-
just during the battle. you combing weak brigades of the same division so they do not break
-
So, the other day I was playing stones river as CSA. I flanked them with 4 brigades then turned 1 into their back. Then I brought my remaining troops up and pushed them out of the woods and across the plains to the Nashville Pike. The battle ended with me capturing West Nashville Pike and I had 5 brigafes and a battery on top. January 1 came, and all my troops had teleported east of the Pike.
Can the devs fix that to a point? I understand that troops literally don't go to sleep on top of each other, Yank and reb, but if one captures a position on the field I doubt they'd give it up to go back to camp adn sleep. Wouldn't they just sleep on it?- 1

"I don't personally need this particulary feature, so I don't want anyone else to have it either"
I didn't say that I don't think we should ever have it. I just said that I am fine without it because I like playing the game without being dependent on an internet connection and other people

well the firearms course gives -10 marksmanship and +10 reload, while the marksmanship is +10 accuracy. At close range if you aren't getting the balls out quick your men will be all shot up
-
good. not everyone can and wants to do multiplayer. Some people just want to sit and play the game without having to worry about servers and extra people playing.

I used to be able to win Antietam on BG as CSA until they did whatever they did and now the enemy comes with 2:1 numbers and eats my army alive

I love the 54th Massachussetts Swamp Angels, and Robert Gould Shaw, as much as anyone; but this is not a good idea. Sorry.
why not? if they make it to the 1864 battle arenas, you could put them in
-
But they wre supposed to go backwards, not sideways
also, why isn't there buttons for shift brigade left or right. Soldiers did that in real life. In-game, I have to move the whole brigade back and around then put them in the new position.
Also, why are there not more formations? Like column or line or diamond or something?
Would these be possible in future patches or would it mean changing the whole game engine? -
Why is it whenever one is trying to fallback a brigade, they go sideways? Why not just straight back (even though it will block fire from friendlies behind)
-
I hit the fallback button twice, then the hold button twice. usually after about 50 yards they start backing up. then I can hit hold and get them back
-
what is the 0 recruits trick
-
which battle is this? is this the 1861 battle, the first battle you have to do? or is this some side mission
-
no. we are up to chickamauga now. start your game and reload your final battle. you will have a file called last battle or something like that
-
I love all of you. I love you for making this game. I love you for updating this game.

all I gotta say is...

oh. so it's as if the enemy has an unlimited herd of studs and it's my job to kill them up and improve my OWN army, rather than diminish the quality of theirs
-
So, I played a Reb campaign, and then before Antietam it said stuff like- you defeated the enemy at 2nd manassas= -5% army size. You have captured Harpers Ferry= -5% army size
and then the enemy army comes chock full of 3 star brigades? and I kill them all and then at Fredericksburg they are right back again.
What's the point of winning if they just regenerate 3 star men like a flock of roaches?- 1

that dynamic campaign sounds like a nice idea. Something like AEGOD's ACW II with the graphics and playstyle of Ultimate General. I'd love it

I usually have about 20 majors in reserve by the time I reach Chancellorsville. Right now I have 110 brigades and they're all colonel or higher. More than half are generals.
how the hell did you get 110 brigades? jesus christ. are you maxed out to 100 logistics or something, and conscripting all the men?
