HI, Is having a mic compulsory?, or is it ok to converse through in game chat?

The only time I have cancelled a mission straight away was when it spawned it the other side of the Island I was on, I didnt have the time to go around. Other than that, I quite like the random locations and having to find them. I hope in the future that we get some real long distance ones once different types of missions start appearing. Maybe they should award some more gold or XP for distance travelled, expenses!

Viewpoints from various part of the ships (bow, stern, crows nest, ships cabin) Wildlife, common or rare sightings (whales, dolphins off the bow, birds etc etc), with associated sounds (whalesong, bird calls etc). Crew songs and music. To be able to put a crew member on watch to shout when they spot land or another ship. To be able to fish or trawl.
