  1. Sooner mod stacking is removed and alts are banned every aspect of the game will be better for it.

And that's not a criticism towards Hachi or anyone here, just the way it is for now unfortunately.

  2. You should probably be looking at what's changed on your laptop instead of the game since 2017,  have to look deeper than just graphics drivers.  Also performance expectations shouldn't be too high on what I expect is a 4-5 year old laptop design.

Well, what if I use 12pd? Calibre doesn't make much of a difference, it's the distance that makes chain useless.

Caliber should make a difference also ball should do more rigging damage than it currently does. Certainly adjustments need to be made, hopefully they're not too far away. But imho most recent changes are a step in the right direction towards improved realism over arcade.

On a different topic - I'd like to suggest a DLC idea for the Devs to consider. The idea being to give the Devs some more $$$ for game development and also make life easier for players.

A huge pain point for me is lack of Outposts and Building slots. Yes, I know I could get an alt but I personally prefer to play within the scope of my one account. I'd be more than happy to spend some $$$ on additional slots for both. I have no need for Forged Papers and I know lots of other players don't either. The current cost of Forged Papers DLC  is $24.79 NZD. If I could pay say around NZD$20 for 3 more outposts and about the same for say 5 building slots I'd be whipping out the Visa STAT.

I think this would also have the added benefit of more resources in production, more trade and hence more OW activity. I think you might also see more PVP opportunities as players could open up additional slots in Freetown's, perhaps adjacent to the mission zones.

With respect but a big NO. As that moves the game more towards P2W which would be a disaster. DLC at most should be cosmetic only not provide any advantage no matter how slight..

This is pure gold. Some people take this game way to seriously.

Beats me how people have time to play the game and forums as much as they do then complain about content.

What is a nation with a decent US player base that does PVP? I just switched from the Pirates as they sadly seem to sit in port when a threat is in the harbor, and France's English clans seem to be quite full. Not sure which nation would be a good fit for me as my playing time is 3pm-10pm EST.

Keep in mind your peak time is also peak time for ANZAC's like myself and those players in Asia Pacific time zones that are mostly online during the day weekdays.

  7. All of this just reaffirms my early assumption upon returning to this game a few months ago after a couple years break.. That the server/community is dominated by a handful of veteran  players with way too much free time competing against one another at the possible longer term detriment of the player base.

Port wipe would mean the waste of months of efforts and struggles of all the factions in the old EU server.

It's Alpha none of that matters. All of that struggle was testing.

Before release I would expect a map reset with new victory conditions put in place.

As for any personal involvement:  I only sail for Poland as they are the smallest faction in the game, giving me the most OW PvP opportunities.  I could just as easily change factions to any other and not care one whit.  If your major causus belli is one privateering type doing the privateering thing... there are issues at a fundamental level.

"privateering type doing the privateering thing"

Fair enough but there is a time and a place. Not a smart move to attack trade ships next to your nations most valuable port just for a few simple PVP marks.  Being "Rogue" isn't an excuse to actively go out of your way to  hinder and frustrate your own nations larger ambitions.

  10. I certainly don't build ships for the gold considering amount of time that goes into maintaining sufficient levels of resources.

Main reward for crafting ships is helping others out, either clans for the right type of ships for Port Battles and raiding, individuals with a much sort after 5th rate or new traders with a free ship and some capital.

Some improvements I'd like to see added however to make crafting even more rewarding.

    - Ability to name the ship

    - Receive action reports on ships you have crafted.

    - Additional specialty crafting abilities unlocked beyond level 50 which can be added to a ship.

"I went through a lot of the steam reviews and found a lot of negative reviews where things like this. Folks jumping in thinking this is a finished game or expecting something like  NA:L and than writing  a bad review about a little part of the game. "

Agree think Steam reviewers should be required to complete minimum number of hours before posting a review and MUST consider the games development stage and not review the title as if it's final release.  Numbers of negative reviews is extremely unfortunate and in no way a clear reflection of NA accomplishments unique to PC gaming and it's current stage of development  imho.

Im base on facts. We have positive influence after devs added our country - More nations more fights, alliances, pvp more players from more countries. If we got problem it laying somewhere else - a population balance and some mechanics tweaks but you can`t force people to join more challenging nations. Are we?  Stop this crusade and enjoy the game mate. Potential future playerbase is 2.5 K players on one server as developers aiming (there were tests on 2700 players on one server if i remember correct)

Even if the game had 10,000 regular players online during peak times, 5 nations plus pirates is enough, I don't see where more nations is needed for such a small player base. If the game expands to Mediterranean  sure add more nations relative to that area and time period, but just the Caribbean map doesn't  5 or more nations let alone 10 plus.

Adding Poland made exactly opposite effect - our community get stronger and more united everyday (apart from some stubborns and pariahs) and quite a few new players came. Game will survive - there is no competitions but i think we need one or two ;) To be fair - would like to see in game Portugal, Ottoman Empire (Turks) and maybe Barbary Pirates (as a playable nation with limits) and "misfortunate" pirates had own mechanics finally. Despite historical correctness just for sake of gameplay

How does more nations improve gameplay? For the size of the map and potential future player base 5 nations is more than enough.

It would depend, partly on whether an Admiral of the Red White or Blue fleets got the assignment, squadrons would often have different homeports, in an area but not necessarily from the same fleet so Portsmouth may find ships from all three fleets in port, also ships from the Red fleet could easily be found temporarily assigned to a White squadron yet still be under the authority of their own fleet commander, while also under direct command of an admiral of the White and under direct instructions from the Admiralty in London. The Captain, fleet commanders, and Squadron commanders would all receive a copy of the orders and separate instructions as to who has what responsibilities.

It was an over complex system, where  disputes over the interpretation of orders were common, which in part led to dissolving the Red and Blue fleets and placing warships under the White Ensign, The mercantile Marine adopted the Red Ensign and mercantile ships under  command of retired RN officers and eventually the RNR/RNVR would fly the Blue Ensign, RMS Titanic is probably the most famous merchant ship that flew the Blue Ensign.

So you are saying that prussia, commonwealth and russia could not invade Caribbean or send colonial or privateering fleets there if they wished to do so?  Please stop applying old games logic to NA. The pattern of adding spain france and britain to caribbean games had to be broken. Previous game makers could not even bother to research for example that st bartholomew was swedish (until 1877) and virgin islands were danish for example. And they were danish until 1917!

Applying old game logic? Applying the main nations that were historically accurate for the region and time period of NA. Five nations plus pirates is enough, just don't see why the need to add more.
