    The carriers were the very things that rendered the dreadnoughts useless, this would dramatically change the game, rendering it unrecognizable. It would simply become ultimate admiral "carriers". 

     

    You are asking for a different game guys, stay on target. 

     

    I would agree tah this carrier thing would make a great expansion pack/mod/second opus.

     

    Carriers would be a new invention "end game" if you imagine this game as say 1850 through 1945 carriers would only be around in their crudest form from the 1920s. So that would be 70 years with no carriers. 10-20 years of "prototype carriers" and then a couple of years of "fleet carriers", and yes that spells the end of the battleship era.... thats kind of the point....

  2. if there is no airpower in game (whether land based or carrier borne) then AA ceases to be an issue which will massively skew "gamer" ship design.

    Who needs AA either on board or via escort ships when there are no planes? 

    Planes are a must and rubbish WWI type planes will be pretty funny and then become much more a threat as we enter into the 40s...

    I dont get it though. If I make destroyers, whatever engine i use or whatever displacement, they are either overweight, or have practically zero weight left AND have to be really slow. To be able to build destroyers with weapons they have to go 22 knots or something ridiculous.....

  4. I will have a crack at it now. I think i gave up because the ship design thing 

    I wanted to build destroyers but the ship builder started off overweight? With nothing attached and it seemed impossible to build anything?

    Built 8 Torp Boats, nearly won but ran out of torps. I dont really get why building the destroyers is impossible.... seems weird? Why not just make it only TBs if thats all you can build with the resources available.....

  6. I too am trying to buy it. My first card with a bank would not show the small amount so i gave up after a day. Now trying it with another card from another bank. Fingers crossed.

    I also tried with paypal but it said "payment cancelled" both times when i tried, and then paypal texted me and said have you withdrawn £41 to Xsolla, so I said no, as the payment had shown as cancelled....  so a bit of a fail so far....

  7. It's good this topic is seeing a lot of discussion as reminding people its a game for people with RL is good.

    At @Otto Kohl says being repeatedly dragged into fights for 3 hours with no means of exiting the game without being killed is pretty shitty....

    I double down on not wanting to be able to LEAVE a fight instance thats ongoing, but only to be able to log off safely AFTER  battle is either won or you have escaped.

    ALSO this situation should be RARE so you can make the "cost" for using it VERY High. Even a 24 hour log off block or whatever. Most people should only have to use it very rarely if caught in a ridiculous situation of re-tags etc.... OR to stop PVPrs using it as a regular escape clause, maybe limiting its use to once every 14 days or something?

    I would also anticipate abuse with such a feature.  Logging off has been abused already before.  Honestly for a game such as this you just have to plan your time accordingly, and if you don't anticipate having the time then don't go out.  I have 3 young children that constantly drag me away from the game.  If I'm in a battle or on a long sail, I have to just live with it, I cannot expect the game to offer me a "log off for your kids" button.  But that constantly happens to me, just have to plan as best I can. 😦

    That would be a "Throw everything aboard!"-command to make ship as fast as possible. Maybe that could be a compromise?! Goods into water, Reps into water, Cannons, Guns and powder into water, Extra Planing into water, useless men, women and childs into water, ..

    By this way, the trader and the hunter and everyone thinks twice before using such a "Safe My Ass"-Button

    Thats a good idea. I mean it should be a literally "last resort" because you want to go to bed but dont want to sink and lose everything. Losing everything except the ship would be OK with me.... (plus the log off - cant log back in block)

  11. 1. I understand this will be abused. hence idea of log on timer. I think it should be alt proofed if possible too? eg IP linked? Or maybe even longer to make you really sure you want to use it...?

     

    This isn't from hunting.. for example I was attacked in home water, and spend nearly an hour trying to get away / fight. IF I got out then I would just get tagged again.

    If I join a solo fight before bed..great! But if it then develops into a huge fight with people joining, it can develop into an hour long encounter.

    As I say it's "semi serious" but anything to help players play, based on "most players" not just super hardcore killer gankers who want to exploit mechanisms. NA IS LONG. Anything which can help players "enjoy" the long (its stopped me from bed time MANY times!) is good.
