    High ranking captains don't want to sail on basic cutters, but they have no money at the moment to afford better ships ....so. Fighting in a basic cutter is real pain in the...

    Better ship = better PVE/PVP and more marks.

    People should stop seeing exploits everywhere ;)

    Thats odd, because Ive been seeing basic cutters with AI fleets of regular cutters.  Now, tell me that baint an exploit of the system?

    I've found the use of basic cutters tiresome but maybe if the ganking squads actually hit where the enemy clans are and not new players out of nation capitals you wouldn't see cutter swarms.

    You don't know me, do you.
    Pagan Pete uses Historical Brand (™) Pyracy! I be not yer typical player… I sail in a sloop looking fer traders, just like pyrates of tester year :)

    Well i want to learn to pvp and since i do not have my economy set up to buy/outfit any other ship basic cutter is what i use for PVP until i get the means and the skill not to get sunk as much.

    Yes, learn in your basic cutter, and make a bit of money. But there should be NO pvp rewards for a ship that give no PVP regards.

    The system IS being abused.

    what a pratt?

    I get this question a lot. :)
    A Pratt is en olde English term for;

    • A person that chatters or utters childishly or foolishly. British slang, derived from the word prattle.
    • idiot, un-cool, not liked.

    Essentially, rule  VIII is so Captains of the BLACK Flag remember to 'Keep it fun" in chat.

    That answer yer question?

    Keep your game im washing my hand of you and i am sure i won't be the only one either

    Wrong. WRONG! (Trump voice) The Devs are doing the correct thing, Quality over deadline. It is ready when it is ready. All good things come to those who wait. A stitch in time, saves nine. The delays may seem annoying, but delays because the Devs are actively listening and bug-hunting.

    [_]p Atta boy, Devs!:)

  6. On the test server, I noticed that If we get into a boarding action (By choice or unwillingly) we get NO REWARD despite all the cannon fire exchanged.

    Historical Context:

    • The nations of the world considered it preferable, by far, to capture an enemy ship. It was taken as a high achievement of skill and courage.

    The capture of vessels was preferable, and well rewarded, because the ship could be refit for use ti strengthen the navy, or striped for vital materials, to save cost on other ships. Why then do we receive "No Reward" for capturing a vessel in combat? It makes no sense to only reward potions etc for blasting a ship to match sticks.

    Even the crews got a share of the Prize money for capturing. We should receive the mission and combat rewards for defeating enemy ships, no matter how that victory is achieved.

    Pyrate Context; Post script.
    When prize money was rewarded the vaunted Royal Navy officers often screwed the men out of their share of $… Which is just ONE of the reasons so many crews mutinied and turned pyrate! But I digress...

  7. With some time to play the test server and see how the new mechanics are going to work, it has become evident to me that the Rogue / Red Flag's have the potential to exploit the ship experience system to create an unfair advantage.

    The process is as follows;
    1) A clan of Rogues forms

    2) That clan engages in internal pvp fights to gain xp, with no real risk, as the fights are;

    • Pre-planned
    • Agreed upon
    • Uses only ships that are expendable
    • Terminate when mercy is asked for

    3) The Rogue clans would then level their ships & captains much faster than any other nation.
