  1. Please write your in-game player name so that we can try to analyze logs

Also, please check your network and firewall settings, if the following ports are open:

I've been able to log into the game once in the past week that I've tried. I've tried 5 or 6 different days to log in.

My in-game name is Arnaud Arpes

I had been playing the game fine for over a month before this. I've reinstalled, and made sure all the necessary ports are open, even turned off firewall completely. Additionally I created Inbound Rules for client.exe to allow any port necessary.

  2. Daniel Alexander, it seems we're too late to the party. TAA looks to have disbanded or dissolved. We'll have to seek out an alternate fleet. Unfortunately, it's damn near impossible to communicate or get a response from most of those flying under the colors of France. So for the moment, I sail by my lonesome. I base myself in Plymouth, so if youre looking for a comrade, send me a message.

  3. Currently, ships are all (for the most part) named based on their original name in the real world. For example, 'the Renommee'. The Renomme was was a 'Galathee class frigate' and there were sister ships to her. Another, the Cerberus, would fall into the 'Coventry-class frigate'. I feel that for the sake of immersion the ships should be renamed in-game to the class which they are, if applicable.

There are ships like the HMS Victory, which have a class of 'First-Rate and obviously the size, guns, etc of first rate's differed from nation to nation and ship to ship and year to year. So it's difficult to pin some to a specific class. Those could perhaps continue to be listed as they are, or possibly named something like 'Victory Class First Rate' or 'Santísima Class First Rate'.

So, similar to how you see 'Frigate, Cutter, Brig,' now. You'd see more of that and less of named ships in the world.

EDIT: The main reason for this, being that someday hopefully we'll be able to name our ships and have the names appear in the world. So having a 'Renommee named Intimidator' wouldn't seem as right as having a 'Galathee Class Frigate, named Intimidator.'

  4. With regards to player made missions, it would be great if you were able to issue a mission which a player accepted in the port of origin for the mission, to carry items from your warehouse, or accompany one of your ships held there, to another destination you set. I can see that being very useful for well traveled captains who dont want to travel between their outposts to transport items to another outpost.

  5. The lighting does appear to be off at night. Ships lose their shine almost completely, and become a flat matte model it seems.

That being said, I'd prefer that night still exist, but that it be a severe hindrance to the captain. I propose:

Nights should be darker, almost painfully difficult to make out sea from shore and near impossible to spot another ship just from white sails. Meaning that it's dangerous to sail and to counter the inability to locate ships add lanterns to ships, which can be extinguished or covered. Lighthouses could also be added to make land aware to ships sailing by.

  6. I've F11'd this, but want to post here as well.

I'm sailing under French colors, have been since the start. However, just today I've been getting the warning 'You will become a Pirate if you attack this ship' [Confirm/Cancel] and this pops up on every single ship I click on; French w/Contraband, British trader, British warship, Swedish, etc. I've exited the game and logged back in, no change still.

Update: In one instance, I clicked a French ship which was a long ways off, it must have opened up 100+ of the Pirate messages (i counted the clicks), there were enough to made the slightly translucent option box into a completely opaque box. I had to click cancel about 100 times before I could get rid of the prompts. I noticed my FPS also dropped to about 13-15 while this box was up, which leads me to believe it was reissuing the warning at an out of control rate bogging it down.

Update 2 & CAUSE: I had switch my controls around in a previous battle, setting my single shot fire to mouse click, and the firing of all guns to spacebar, reversing them essentially. When I went into controls and pressed Reset, then selecting a ship in the OW, the message was no longer present. It appears to be related to the keys I was using.

    To be clear I had:

    Fire - space
    Single Shot - mouse0
