I am sure you can sail our ship selection like Renommee, Mercury and Constitution in ...
what was that game's name? I always keep forgetting
.......
we want some vessels to be locked to a nation and Some extremely rare.
Unique vessels will be available:
From national admiralty stores
From developers for the contribution to the game or to community (together with court ranks and plantations)
From capture or from rogue traders
Certain resources will be required to build those ships, and you can deny Superfrigates to USA if you capture live oak sources in port battles.
I'm liking the idea of connection between restriction of ships and economy! Keep'em coming but make sure to execute that idea into an actual feature.

Its insane damage wise but like someone else said, carronade is very weak against range and thus against a proper sniper, it will be dead within minutes.
-
I am fine with not being able to put carronades on the lowest deck, but why the middle decks as well? Does removing carronades from most of the decks on several other ships just because the Vic didn't use them historically really add anything to gameplay? I enjoyed seeing a 1st rate with all carronades and just demasting them from 500 out and sailing away laughing why they sit there in a corner being useless.
The class 2 68-lb carronades, can any ship even mount them on a broadside anymore? What's the point of even having them if not?

This!
I think NA is going too realistic to a point where it restrict us, the players! Remember, this is a sandbox and dev should take a moderate approach to the realistic aspect of the game. With the restriction of carronades on some ships, it leaves me thinking that I'm technically forced into one "weapon" per se.

Yup, kind of like milestone achievements.
Level 1:
*Destroy 20 Brigs
*Destroy 5 Mercury
*Destroy 10 Navy Brigs
Trade Level 1:
*Gain a profit of more than 10k
*Amass a fortune of 100k gold
Exploration Level 1
*Stay at sea for more than 15 days
Things like that can occupy other people
This would award reputation points or even ranks in rare cases.

I just wish admin would at least reply to this, it feels like this wonderful idea is getting ignored.
-
Yes please! This game is already realistic as it gets and if provision isn't here then what's the point?
-
Or a crafter - someone who rarely goes to sea?
Nu uh!
-
Just for testers morale, I want the other instances we had in sea trials brought back in. Getting visually burned out on this current instance.
What would be exceptionally nice would be several new instances made and have them match the time of day and weather (storms!) of the OW. However at this point I would take different instances even if they were random.
Hopefully at least one more instance can be released next patch.

I got your back on this one.

Yeah, the community is kind of a savage from time to time.

Oh man, I was planning to get a Bellona too.

Dutch Republic:
Wow! Okay france, i'm sorry; you've been a great nation but I don't understand what you all are saying sometimes, maybe this girls can enlighten me more.
-
I approve.
It's just that.. I don't have any ideas at this moment.
-
Oh hey! That's my pictureand I completely agree but if game-labs do that, I'm sure they can make night even darker and possibly add lanterns to our ship as an optional thing (covert or safety). -
Please make the night time even darker! Also let us have the ability to turn our lanterns within our ship or something along the line.
PLEASE

I don't know if someone has created a thread like this yet but since I haven't found one so far, I might as well create one! Obligatory thread for every forum.
Principe here, well that's my alias in game. Currently, I'm playing NA obviously while testing in some various ways and arguing with others in here, forum.
I started gaming ever since I was eleven years old, that is PC gaming from 11 years old so consoles beforehand! And now I'm around 18-24 years old, I mean who knows right!?
I discovered Uncharted Waters Online when I was merely 12 years old and I fell in love with it; I played and played and played till I became a leading adventurer there. I soon got a new computer and quickly lost focus on UWO and started playing various of other MMORPGs which grew stale. Until recently, I've been playing strategy games and focusing in life.
Now, I'm here. I wish to play this game till its end, depending on my real life situations as I will go to University soon but hey, that's life!
Anyways, I'm very nationalistic so expect me to grab France Flag's and lead ships to battle someday!
Oh and California Pride
-
I know I know.. I kinda copied the POTBS thread but hey! POTBS playerbase might be large here (since UWO is still very active at this moment) but we can't ignore UWO now can we!?
I'll start of first..

Oh, is this a start of US vs. Great Britain Political Drama? How exciting!

Then the actual port battle itself.
Shallow ports for light ships & Deep ports for both ships alike is a good idea.
Port vulnerability
I like this idea honestly, it's really convenient but I'm just worried about the consistently of it. Yes, it's alpha so we can test all day but in the future release, if its everyday then we as the working group, can't possibly compete against the wizard players who has all time of the world.
I feel like it's a bit too arcade right now, we can improve it later on though, but please look at my Casus Bella post just above or two post of this one.
If we want to stimulate the age of sailing, we might as well try to visualize the politics during the time, no? This can be troublesome since it might take a long time to conquer and decide to take a port but in every thing, there's always that perfect little balance
Announcements
It should be five hours prior to the actual battle itself currently It might be more but hey, this is alpha. We need to devote a lot of time for testing.
Port battle invites
It should be:
1. Player's proximity of the port
2. Player's who are in adjacent alliance with the nation (For example US & France are allies, and GB attacks France, then obviously US should get a priority for reinforcement for France)
3. Player's rank & honor & popularity, gotta cater those who are fully invested in the game as well, and just let them join the underdog I suppose.
4. Random choosing, you can't be too picky cause it will generation tensions, add this 4th factor and most people will be satisfied.
Thank You for granting us the option to suggest and improve the upcoming feature

I want to see a system like Europa IV actually. I believe it's called Casus Bella where a nation has to have an actual reason and a justifiable reason at that in order to conquer a port.
Whether its rightfully their ports and such. Then this is where merchants & adventurers come into play in the future as well, say a system is implemented where merchants & adventurers would have to work to fabricate a claim on that port and based on the amount of players working on fabricating the claim and their skill it would take from a day to a week! If the nations fails at this then they lose reputation and such.
Then so many things can be added to support this Casus Bella system like religious conflict or simply to ignite a war. This can balance things as well cause after a war you can't just take all the ports you conquered, there's always a peace treaty that grants you certain advantages, at least for the winners, and disadvantages for the losers!
Any thoughts?

Omg onox!?
What the heck are you doing here? You should be protecting France at UWO
Ahahaha joke aside, welcome aboard.

The crafting should also be expanded.
There should be blacksmith which is for the cannon themselves -- hopefully they can be modified to our liking as well to a degree.
Tailor, a crafter that makes clothing if avatar somehow gets in the game but more specifically sails and such.
Handcraft, a crafter that makes the modules which again, may be modified to our liking.
Then the exploration system should also be expanded with: archaeology, geography, etc
Like you said, I completely agree that despite this game being fully Naval "Action" the dev should give some other activities as to not overload the players!
I completely agree with your idea, please keep adding more, hopefully admin see this
-
I agree as well.
In this case, it's more of a realism versus convenience but the problem at the moment is that these two factors are always clashing within one another and it sort of makes a complicated scenario every time a suggestion comes up.
In UWO -- once again, I keep bringing it up but its a good comparison -- we never lose ship, unless you sell it or trade it.We had insurance system for the ship as well but it was very weak, it would merely take away at most 10k gold everyday and well I can easily get 1m a day in the game and others can make much much more so I propose a really heavy insurance as to not belittle it.Definitely, I don't want a precious ship to sink or get stolen easily as I probably put so much into it -- adding the fact that ship-building will be available later on.
Though, I can imagine many users here disagreeing with this honestly, goodluck.
Higher upkeep as the ship ages, new business for shipbuilders

We had master craftsman repair, it would repair the dura back to its full potential if you have enough, plus its craftable as well so economy.
