The "swear" words used have changed significantly over the years. The f-bomb dropping sailor is more a product of the 20th Century compared to to the "salty" language of an 18th Century Jack.
but even more importantly is the context with which the "swearing" is used. If it was used as an expression without malice then it should be allowed. Not everything is black and white.
I have to admit, more than once I have been part of a swarm of yachts that displayed "threatening behaviors" towards others

Sweden and Germany have very little ships
Type: Ship of the line Displacement: 2,300 tonnes (approximate) Length: 53 m (174 ft) Beam: 12.9 m (42 ft) Height: 66 m (217 ft, keel to mast) Draft: 6.2–6.8 m (20–22 ft) Sail plan: ship rig Troops: 300 soldiers Complement: 500 sailors Armament: Planned for 126 guns from 6 to 36 pounds
Actual armament around 110 gunsJesus, is that ship within the timeline? I would love to see it in-game.

They could always try Ancient battles?
One can dream
Hell why not stick to the American Civil war and create a campaign map
-
The names are pretty useless imo, maybe have only your teammates name over them but also give us to option to get rid of them completely.
-
Oh the Dutch and their flamboyant ships.

if this ship is allowed people are gong to start demanding ships outside of the timeline :\

It's always nice to see something other than British, French or Spanish ships.

Q. Are battles in the Open World instanced or do they take place on the map?
A. Battles are instanced separately from the Open World Map.
This is very bad imo, your own faction cant come and help you if youre being attacked by pirates/other factions. I hope they change this, it might be a dealbreaker for me.
It's because people from the area are in fact pulled into the match. Kind of unfortunate I wish open world was open world without instances.

I believe the Devs got a bit on their minds of late...........
This stuff may come? But all in good time.
Let's get OW implemented first.
Like Tommy Shelbys post said, Just because we want this feature doesn't mean we want it NOW. It's worthy of discussion at the least.

Nope. A lot of this game will be based on decisions by the devs, with pools like that helping to visualize the opinion of the vocal part of the community. Nothing less, nothing more.
I take it you voted against adding studded sails and now you're displeased.
-
This is democracy since when...? o_O
Since all the other polls in the forums. Especially the one where we got to pick 3 ships from a list to be included in game. A lot of this game will be based on decisions from threads like this one.

Thanks! Im writing a paper on trafalgar, this will probably help
What course are you taking?

No artificial mechanics are needed. The instance creator should pull all nearby ships into the instance, regardless of nationality. If you want to help each other while in the instance, help each other - just refrain from firing on the other ship. If you don't sail away or rain death on both of your enemies. Keep it flexible.
would be funny if all the ships who get pulled into the match to start fighting each other as well. hahaha

Yeah good to see the French community is a live and kicking. We will need French to fight in-game
-
So pretty
These are the Galleys from Empire Total War xD
-
yup what we have so far is the bare minimum, basically a functioning system but very rough around the edges.
-
The thing about adding marines and such is that the work required would take away from more important things. But the team have shown their interest so far as making a poll asking us whether we wanted to see musket fire before seeing the animations.
Obviously these are all features we want added in game at some point because its entertaining and would add immersion.
-
The French ship in Master and Commander had it and it didn't look bad at all
This should be up to a vote because it's historically accurate and the arcade crowd would enjoy the faster speed.
-
Some day Captain. Right now it is a low priority feature on the urgent/not urgent important/not important quadrant.
Good to know that it will be implemented at some time. Thanks

love the idea of using the map to chart out your trajectory. This should make traveling less tedious for people who don't have the patience. But then again is this game being marketed at people who have little patience? I mean this is what it really comes down to. People who want to travel form town to town in an instant. People who want to dock by pushing a button in an instant. For them everything has to be now.
I think this game is targeted at an audience who is interested in this time period. They want to learn more about it and they want to experience it. I hope the devs don't steer away too much from that by trying to cater to the COD or Battlefield crowd who just want to sit and instantly be rewarded (instant gratification).
