As a Dutch player vet I have to say my playing patten hasn't 't changed with 40 ports or 5 ports , you only need the capital and free ports to have an enjoyable time, hell you don ' t even have to trade or sail risky trade routes, many other nations have been in this position before.
At this stage it literally changes nothing other than the odd whiner in nation chat and we all have to put up with that once and awhile don't we?
People change factions like a daily pair of socks anyway so there's always a way out for the casual.
Most impressive thing for me is the lack of moaning, blaming and excuses from the Dutch on the forum , it is what it is, just another cycle of naval action life.
Enjoy the Dutch hardcore mode before the patch , then hopefully thats when the real fun begins.

Tac says it all here! Cloggers for life!
On a side note, you haven't seen or heard much of me due to an extended vacation and some intensive businesstrips I had to make, but ....

And yes, it was a fancy dress.

Have to ask sorry for the interruption but the whole situation reminds me of some fellow, all fancy dress, walking into "The Gouged Eye" tavern at La Orchila and, with a sneer and a uninsterested look about, announcing the highest station of diplomacy in the Dutch West Indies was open for the taking, such as the madame upstairs... An amusing announcement to make at a free port sir. My own crew kept asking if this was for real.
Better find it amongst your peers on TS ?
I was drunk, ok? ;-)

So it's the funny talking captains versus the weird talking captains.
Sounds like a great battle royale to me.

Just keep the train going Dick Brave.
There is no worse notice than no notice. ;-)
Still like the uniform styling we did with the announcements.

As always the Swedish decisions ooze spirit, valour and a sensible lust for good fights.
I must confess I had more fun in battling at your side then against you guys, but one can only respect a decision taken by a great community.
With great respect and a proud feeling for mutual accomplishment we had against the pirates, I wish you to know that a table to talk will always be available; if not for businesses then for pleasure!
Good sailings northern Polar Bears, May your guns be as efficient as ever!

... Just read it ... I'm still on the fence.

I still maintain....the in game diplomacy can NEVER be as good as the player created diplomacy.
When I get back into my chair (having just fallen out of it) I shall watch this one with appropriate WTF just happened there then eyes !!
And so another episode begins.
Jeheil, I agree wholeheartedly!

Well i believe that DAS and ARSE voted against the treaty so i don't why DAS and ARSE both aprove the treaty whilst they both disagreed with it
I don't find it very "chique" to discuss voting behavior of the Dutch council members here in the forums unless they are stating it themselves.
As to council decisions: We fuck up together or we are all fucked together. Either way, it's together.
I'm sure there will be enough opportunity for all the members to use its deciding vote on a decision that has to be made in the future to come.

I agree a premature ejaculation only satisfies the one that had it, but it doesn't mean beautiful children cannot be born from it.
Although this draft might have been posted a bit ahead of the pack or, to complete the analogy, prematurely, I still like the looks of it.

Thank god there are people on these forums that get a Monty Python reference when they see one, Kloothommel! o7

Hehehe. Just another day in Dutch nation politics. Trust me, all is fine here. Enjoy the holiday!!
Ah, politics, I dread the day it will stop making us laugh. ;-)

What's this about a coup and two separate councils in the Dutch Nation? I'm on my frickin' two month holiday! Should I abort my travelling already and come back to slap my herring on all of you?

Starting positions:
- each nation starts with Capital and a cluster of 4 additional ports.
- Pirates start with all free ports as outposts, no towns, no capital.
and replace the French capital to New Orleans ;-)

US, Sweden and Denmark shouldnt be in the game, they were irrelevant in the caribean.
If they are is due to:
-attract US patriotic players
-have some extra option to choose
-avoid 90% of the player be british instead of the current 60%
Just replace the French capital to New Orleans and the map and division between nations is fine.

Nevertheless remains that Vicious and his merry men/women had an awesome idea to go mercenary.
I wish it had worked out better for all involved. Customer anonymity should be top priority to keep for any Mercenary group. It would think twice now before hiring. My compliments remain on generating content for our community.
From my role as Dutch captain: "You bastards! I knew there was a French connection", and waves a fist frantically in the air. ;-)

I think you are commenting on the developers suggestions of the diplomacy with war decs, alliances and peace treaties being run by the so called "Lords" or l33t PVP-ers?
To be honest, I think in the end, it will even have me going pirate.

For emphasis,
And I'm starting to repeat myself here a bit, but: The war declaration was done. It holds true until further notice by decree of our council. As noted, the Dutch diplomatic corps is always available to discuss terms with the Spanish in unison with our allies.
Our contribution is to stabilize our allies holdings and positions, as well as containing the pirate threat. (and of course having good fights against very good opponents which the honourable Spanish captains have been giving time and time again).
We will recognize a strong call for stability from all who are involved and are weary of war, so do our allies. The token of declaring a unilateral measure by the British, and active participation of US diplomats in conversations are very willing gestures, not to be ignored, in my humble opinion. I strongly suggest a communicative way forward instead of turning away our heads in bitterness.
Job 21:25 And another dies in the bitterness of his soul, and never eats with pleasure.
And to add to the wise words of his excellency, don Inocencio Botijo:
We are available to communicate, but not all-out on the forums.

We are still two ports ahead of the pirates, so all is cool.
