I've been watching YouTube videos and it looks to be a great game. I just took the plunge and bought the game. The first thing I was greeted with upon launching the game was the patch notes and... ouch. It's painfully obvious they were written by a non-native English speaker. The flow is all wrong. The problem is mainly in the syntax. There are just enough words in the wrong order or wrong tense to make it jarring to read. You should consider having a native speaker read and edit the text appearing in the game before it is released with each update. If you don't have anyone on staff, there are probably lots of community members who would volunteer to do this, just to improve the game quality that little bit more. (I would not mind helping, if needed.)

Hi! While I really appreciate the work you guys put into the translations, you forgot to add the option to switch between languages. Yeah, I know it sounds odd. But as I want to make a dual language Let's Play, one for my upcoming international channel and one for my german channel, I need the english version of the game. Any way to change this? Edit: Sorry, blind as f*ck. Used to the typical Total War bullshit. Changed in the ingame options menu. Thx!

Proposal: Chinese Translation
Trueservantx posted a topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Greetings. This is absolutely an amazing game. but many of my friend finds difficult to join in, the proplem is simple, language. Many of my fellow countryman are eager to join in, but those not daily used, strange English nautical terms scared them away. They desperately need a Chinese translation. So, here is our proposal, very simple, we'd like to help you do that! I'm a member of the Clan - Celestial Navy. Many of my comrades are study abroad in English speaking countries. They are willing and have the skill required to provide a full translation of the game. If you are interesting in this proposal, please mail us: Love the game, and we want to help. -
There have been a number of discussions concerning communication and the etiquette of in-game chat. As an international community, it is inevitable that we will sail with players whom do not speak the same language as we do. This is no ones fault and should not be looked down upon. However, every well-rounded admiral knows that, especially during battle, communication is key. So how do we go about coordinating with those with which we cannot communicate? Simply stating "'X' is the official language now use it or sink" is a bit draconian (not to mention your message will probably not get across for obvious reasons). So I offer a possible solution: predetermined in-game chat options. So you will be given a set list of options from which to glean possible phrases. For example Answer Action Emotion Person Each of these will then lead to possible statements >Answer - Yes No >Thank you Action Emotion Further, more detailed phrases could be stringed out: Action>"attack" >Person Answer >Action - Defend >Attack - Place >Person - Enemy 1 Enemy 2 > Enemy 3 Then, because this would be handled by the programming who would already have all possible translations for all possible words and phrases on hand (and thus be completely localized), the computer will be able to spit out a phrase "Attack Enemy 3!" in whatever language the other player has the game running in (so this also works for multiple languages) This would be crude, however it would be more effective than no chat at all. The dialect could obviously be fleshed out more as well (Action> Tack Heading> 90 deg= "Quick! Change Tack to 90 deg!" or Command> All ships> Battle Sails = "All ships, go to battle sails!")

Hello. Is not there a Russian translation of the game? This is very bad. Or something I have not found? Offered to help with translation, if it does not require knowledge of programming. Maybe there is any file xml?
