Ship Officer Perks don't save

It seems to me I have a couple of ships that have perks and I choose the perks I want for them to have and when I go into battle they have them for I see the stars but when I get back to the camp they are gone and I have to put them in again then I save and quit.  Next day when I run the game and get to the camp I have to put the perks in again.  I would say sometimes my infantry saves the perks and some times they don't so I would think some more works needs to be done with saving the perks units have.
