  1. The history of warfare is one of confusion, chaos, and uncertainty. The smoke should be heavier, if anything. When you are the CinC, you are not omniscient. You are being bombarded with fragmentary, garbled, and contradictoy reports and sightings. That is what Lee and Meade had to contend with. The publishers would like you to be able to enjoy the same experience. It is not a game defect; it is a deliberate game feature. Enjoy!

I'm not talking about that kind of confusion, to be more clear, I am talking about not SEEING an absolute shit, which is not caused by any battle stuff or detail, but by graphical issues.

  2. There's no "weekly version", there's an always on (minus an hour or two here and there to put up new versions of the game) server that you can play as often as you want/whenever you want.

    Yes, it's online only.

Total initial download is 700mb I think, and then patches when the come seem to be about 150mb or so.

    Soon.

Thank you very much then, I might buy it now.. or soon.. :)

I'd just say "Take my money and shut up" though I feel a bit like I'm wasting 40 saved euros.

  3. If those won't convince you, I don't think anything will:

In fact, just peruse this thread: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/614-naval-action-on-youtube/page-1

First of all, it looks technically a GREAT game, even if to me it seems just a cannon fight sim, after all I don't see how boarding could be tactically managed. I'd probably buy it but I have some questions:

    1. Once you get a weekly version, can you pay it whenever you want or just that precise day?

    2. Is it online?

    3. What's the size of the game?

    4. When is the open world version coming?

    Thank you.

  4. Up to you.  I've had far less fun and gotten far less usage with games I've spent as much on in the past.   :)

Agreed, same here, it's just that I don't know anything about this game except that I am a huge fan of the era and that I love ships and sea, I've read that the game has lots of cool systems and features, but yet I don't know anything about it. Also I'd just be able to play it once a week, and as I have a slow connection (500kb/s) it would be a pain to download a lot of GBs every week. If the price though will raise once the game is released I'll definitely buy it now, just need someone to convince me ahah. ;)

  5. I hope all fans of UBB realize, although you probably don't, that the developers of this game have already spent a small fortune for orignal four-color artwork that is loaded into the game. Well, just the miniature portraits of the unit commanders alone represent hundreds of manhours of creative, editorial, and CG effort. The mapboard (playing surface) is an exceptional piece of work showing considerable care and deliberation in its execution. What we don't see are the tradeoffs--hundreds probably--that got 20 pounds of game into a 10 pound game engine. Remember, the true professionals make the really hard stuff look easy.

I love the explosions and smoke, what I don't enjoy that much are the units. Why? It's because as I said before they make the game quite confusing, also for example on a cannon unit you can see the number "71" when there are only 3 cannons and more or less 10 men, same thing for the 300+ units, also blood is missing and you can't really see when some are dead or not.

  6. Is the game still updated? If yes, do you think that we might see some of these suggestions put in the game? I personally don't enjoy A LOT playing this game, I play it for almost 2 minutes aday and then close it for several graphical flaws and some missing content, so I'd like to see it improved. I've read about suggestions regarding blood, troops in detail, musicians. These are ideas that I'd love to see in the game because right now managing the troops gets really messy and confusing to me, even if I played a lot of strategical games that required commanding thousands of troops. Good luck.

  7. Hello, I recently bought Ultimate General Gettysburg, then I saw this game: Naval Action. As a huge fan of these kind of games I wanted to immediately buy it, but I can't find it anywhere. Then I saw "Preorder" so I thought that it wasn't out yet, but I watched some old videos about Naval Action like 7 months ago etc.

Is the game out? If yes, where can I buy it? Thank you.
