  2. Apologies! I posted this under the wrong game at first... Greetings! Don't be insulted by my next statement, it is actually a compliment of sorts. I am assuming that Sid Meier's Gettysburg! is an inspiration for your current game because of the obvious similarity in subject but also the many similarities in gameplay. This is a worthy inspiration because SM's G-burg is one of my all time favorite games. When I was shown the preview for your game I immediately bought it and am eager to participate in its development. All that being said, in SM's G-burg, you could order brigades to move from point a to b using one of five different formations as the end goal. For example, your troops may start out in a road column and you may order them to move to another location, across rough terrain perhaps, in a manuever column. Once there, you may have them form into a battle line, a double line, or a skirmish line. I sense that the units in the game are designed to automatically make those transitions but it is difficult to visualize how your units will knit together to form a cohesive front when the units are just told to go places. The ability to order them to move in a wrap around fashion with the curving arrow is a great improvement, but I still can't tell whether they are really doing what I want them to do. Being able to place them in a double line to allow for reserves or a battle line to fully commit each regiment is a key stragtegic consideration that is lacking at present. I notice individual regimental control is not an option and I can understand why that decision may have been made for simplicity's sake, but it does limit. Really, my biggest issue is not being able to tell my troops precisely where I want them to be using a formation tool. I should also mention that when you order a SM's G-burg brigade to move to a new place and form a battle line, that the pattern of where the battle line will be and what it will look like shows up in the desired location, thus enabling one to plan how the front will form up. I understand that this is not SM's G-burg and I am not asking for you to sacrifice your own creative bent on it; the controls I have mentioned, however, make game play more controlable and ultimately enjoyable for the user.
