  1. Early hulls are nice adition, it apears that there is small bug with 8inch secondery being able to fit in lowered on ironclad hull which is funny looking, obviously those hulls are very reminiscent of each others but still have some uniquness to them.

    I really hope that Britan and/or Germans get next ones as those are most important nations at the moment (this sayed i assume that given update france will be added soon). 

    Over all i feel like CL and CAs that would give more freedom are very much needed now.

It is actually very easy just build 10 BBs and keep 3 of them in sea combat role, if you have trouble with money just lower reserch to nothing and crew training to almost 0, from then on build 1-3 smaller ships a year max. Current meta makes sure you cannot win any later campaign with smaller ships. If you are bloced then you have 0% chance of wining becouse you cannot force engagment with the one blocking you. On the other hand BBs power projection is so big that even if enemy have 4x or 5x ships he will most likly be unable to do so :)

     

    So over all just start with bbs or go bbs only :) that solved all problems for me

    Why 3 funnels when you have 19 knots of speed? Why standard bulkheads on battleship? And to make it all even funier this ship exploded a moment after i made this picture. Next salvo from my bb did something i assume that it caused flash fire and entire ship just went into oblivion. So ther armor is not adequate either :) And when i know that AI can make ships like this that made being my CA, CL and DD risky job (it by itself and with screaning force won many battles against me) it makes clown car AI design painfull to watch, fight against and over all not fun to play with at all :( If AI uses mk1 15 inch when it has acess to mk3 14 inch guns then, in 1920 fear factor is non existant.   4. My Light cruiser got 8 flash fires (i counted them in log) and it is still in one pice. It shouldent be :)

  5. Soo. this is first secound of combat and well this need to get fixed :0  + small graphical bug when designing light cruiser.



    Oh and another thing - there is something i noticed few times. AI gest more victory points then player, i once fought battle sinking CA and loosing CL, it was 1 vs 1 and it counted as loose, while technicly sinking more tones. Also AI got more VP. Look at number of VP on picture and tell me if there isent anything wrong with it.

  6. This show how much you would gain by ability to group ships in to taskforce. Also British invested in that game all their founds in too the fleet of capable TBs (while i put on only BBs and few CAs). Effect is that while they have numericly far bigger fleet and more capable when it come to tons of displacment fighting value) then they are blocked in their first turn. This battle i lost obviously costing me 9k tons of displacment and them about 3.4k ? Something like that proving again that blockade should be reworked to mission to bloc pecific port.

  7. - Torpedo dud chance

    - Torpedo trajectory changing as a possible failure

    - Torpedo "design" in ship designer just like shells

    - Torpedo launcher exploding chance after being hit

    - Seperate torpedo and ammo storage options in ship designer

    - Forbiding AI from using few bulkheads after 1910

    - Money amount is to small in 1920 onward, not just for me AI is runing out as well and that is without anyones port being blocked.

    - Ability to invest in civilian infrastructure and fleet suport ships.

    - Flags would be nice.

    - Ability to see enemy designs based on level of intel we have on them.

    - Sometimes it feels that damage from large size guns is not calculated properly when shells hit smaller target. It is for sure true on TB, maybe? on DD and probably on CL. Those things, when unarmored shouldent even be able to survive salvo of 13-16 inch high explosives, atleast i do not belive they would.

    - Hit chance should go dramaticly up when first shells start to hit target, unleass target makes dramatic turn or other manuver that would set off target sollution.

    - Please check the AI torpedo reload speed it seams sometimes strangly fast :)

  8. Major problem in gameplay that heapened to me. So i have 1 bb (23 knots, 13inch main) enemy have 2 CA (39 knots 9 inch main) 1 CL i 1 DD

    i will write battle in points to ensure it is simply writen

    1 - I go for CL as it closest

    2 -when it is atempting to evade hostile fleet get seperated in to 2 groups, i sink it. Now group of 2 CA and DD forms up. 

    3 - They move in line while i give chase.

    4 - I am shooting evrything in to the most dengerous and closest enemy that is ignoring it, becouse it is in line formation following 2CA. DD armed to teath with like i think 12? torpedo tubes total ignores me instead of charging.

    5 - lucky shoot destroys DD i give chase to 2CA's that are left.

    6 - Few lucky shots. They get outside of all but main guns. Obviously they keep distance what ever i do. They keep it outside of all but my main batery and theirs 9inch which are now out of ammo.

    7 - enemy ships still are out of main guns ammo. They do have torpedoes mind you, ammo for other guns they have (6inch i think) but honestly they wouldent be able to do anything with things other then torpedoes.

    8 - They still keep distance, i atempt to withdrow as it is damn boring to have this long range duel.  I cannot they ensure i am at range that they want me in. They do not care that they have no ammo.

    9 - it is over 2 houers (fortunetly time compression works well :) tho 5X speed still means i have spend over 20 minutes chasing impossible to catch ships, that will not let me withdrow.

    10 - At this point i have already fainted charge and retreated multiple times, but those damn CAs wont let me. I ask machine spirit for end battle pop up but it doesent arive.

    11 - Its over! battle time is up! But wait... nothing heapened? Is it becouse i alt tabed? Is it becouse i had x5 speed?

    12 - I give "leave battle" button hesitant press, it works.

    13 - I write this rather amused :)

  9. What i noticed - and this is a big problem on the BUG level is that battle generator in 1920 wil start battle in close range even if ship is equiped with radar. I have level 2 radar and my BC got droped 6km from convoy escort that consisted of torpedo spaming AI ships. Let me tell that those were some tight manuvers :) It was funny actually but over all very stupid :)  Capitan was like - i have 16 inch main battery but there is only like 2x3 of those i want to shoot all the guns :) Oh they have torpedoes? Abort abort abort!

     

    +1 on that it is beating the dead horse that will not move any muscle at this point :)

  10. In 1920 when designing big ship AI is using old tech turret (15 inch mk1 instead of 14 inch mk3) it is second time i see stupid design, not inefficient just plain stupid. Gaze upon AI monster. Also nedless to say look at speed of this thing. It just shows that power projection as a stat instead of form of task force mission  or even seperate mission to bloc port is arcady mechanic. This thing wouldent be able to bloc anything  :)

I am sad to say that blocade is silly since i am blocaded? is that a word :) ? but i have better fleet then my enemy, i want to fight to brake blocade in fact i would love it, but i simply cannot, there is no option... :( So it is arcade like point measure system in which bad things heapen to you becouse you did not build ships that would be worth enaugh point, no matter if you build actually good and BIG fleet (i am bloced while i have more ships then enemy!)

  12. To all that claim AI cannot build good ships i present you monster of north sea. Warship responsible for my lose of 2 CA; 2CL and 1 DD. If i loose this campaign it will be his fault (also dd raming needs to be fixed becouse for now dd will clip throu ships with minimal damage (note amount in the text on one of the pictures. Also ships that are held with duct tape after battle should be scutled without lost of the crew after battle (1% of flotability shouldent reach port after battle)


    Oh and on the bottom of the list German BC that is using mark 1 guns in 1920

  13. - More ship hulls (obvious) especially needed in 1890 - no cursed yet effective designs possible)

    - Sliders for amount of range finders during ship design

    - Slider for size of fire control room

    - Slider for engine room size on ship


    - More superstructure that would have practical and visual use - such as lifeboats on ships (maybe puting akagi island matteresses for example as a possible modification :))

    - Eternall war type of scenario - obviously expanding campaign would be alot of work so  this seams to be short term easy solution

    - Ability to force engagment or atleast attack port of enemy (start a fleet battle)


     

    - Removal of transport looses that are rng based and ading state of ship convoy esscort then based upon those ships that are on convoy duty determining actuall engagments

    - Ability to rename ships and actually set up naming scheme for your ships

    - Paint scheme for fleet including flag for navy

    -
    ability to set up taskforce that take part in engagment in stead of random - congrats your bb was ambushed by 10 destroyers (which heapened to me twice in fact :) )

    - Adding visible smoke in place which enemy is - which was not yet detected

    - Adding possibility to spend prestige on political decisions such as advocating for more funds and soo on.

    - AI making ships based on mocked battlest agains players - to simiulate arms race

  14. Concerning campaign -

    Right now AI in my opinion is mostly making decent-ish designs, which could have been used in real life. It is using them ineffectivly however when for example in 1vs1 bb thats just 2k tons lighter and SLOWER (and this is often problem even in bigger battles (i have one in which 6 cruiser atempted to escape from me making line and atempting to make circles around me becouse i spread my formations and AI lost it :) ) with HEAVIER broadside atempt to escape. So we have funny situation in which BB that have 5x2 12 inch guns and 4 x2 8 inch guns of which most is located in front will show its back in atempt to escape from fighting against enemy that has only 4x2 13 inch guns and and 4x2 8 inch guns. 

    Which is well stupid as if used properly this ship could very well threaten mine - which is nearly 30 knots in speed due to the fact that each enemy is atempting to escape and i am bored with them runing away :)





    Also this is cas of using something that is decent or even good in bad way but this... this should not exist :)

There is big problem with battle generator - if enemy have more ships then you he will impose blocade which will damage your economy + chance of loosing transport increases - however i found myself while having far better navy constantly having my transport destroyed for aparently no reason with no missions generated for entire years (i belive i went one year of war without any battles) just loosing more and more transport each year. Which is super stupid seeing while i have only CA i have almost about the same amount of them as total number on enemies. My ships are faster and more effective :)

    Like common... I have to restart campaign due to a unbalanced rng transport loosing and when you are on the death spirale you cannot come out of it... like at all.
     

  16. My feedback (sorry for wall of text but i do have alot to tell and i did played quite a bit. Also sorry for bad spelling)

    AI – acts strange. On one hand i had few big battles playing campaing in which they did relativly well, in fact there was one battle in which AI played evrything to their advantage and i lost (mind you i did only used CA in my campaing) which showed my that when AI plays as coherent force capable of using ships it has well then it actually may do suprisingly well


    On the other hand i had battle in which my 1 CA was ambushed by 6 torpedo boats. Whilie i thought that i lost but wanted to make my valiant stand, Tbs came one by one (not as they shoud in swarm or two packs from different sideds) atacking with torpedoes on max distance with no chance of actually scoring hit. So i torpedoed them back, i torpedoed torpedo boats


    So botom line is that when AI works it may do very well but it is often beaten by lack of cohesion or planing ahead.


    Ships AI make are not tailored to fight player – i think ai should get a hint of what player is building and build next ships which do well against those, prehaps after playing few "mocked" battlest to ensure new design is valid.

    In fact i would suggest that you make AI battle few standard designs evry time it is making new ships to ensure they are not stupid. For example

    in 1890 and 1900 guns are ineffective compered to torpedoes. Its truth, thats the reason why all my ships have torpedoes (and i do build only CA) so why is AI not puting them on evrything it can? We know it can but it does not. Which means AI is building ships that are already hendicaped.


    Gameplay – Its fine, however i think torpedoes should have chance to be a dud. There are many improvments planed so i am not gooing to list those that are about most likly change in few days.

    Ship building – Lack of hulls that give room for fun in 1890 is visable. I mean... there is only one correct way to build ships that are effective. I made some cursed but effective designs in later periods in fact you can by all means make cursed and fun ships in all dates above 1900.

    - Outside of more things to be added to that starting date i would suggest Ship designer improvments such as

     

    – slider for amount of rangefinders on ships
    - slider for size of fire control section
    - slider for size of machinery
    - New superstructures that would be cosmetical and practical – cat walks, protection from wind for crew, stairs and soo on – things that make ships look more unique.
    - paint scheme for ships and soo on.

    If you are planing to leave current designer then i would suggest giving player things to give soul to ship.



    What shoud be given next to player – I think that campaign expansion and more components for 1890 – 1900 starting date is a must. More agresive ai that always put torpedoes on it ships would be awesome and make for fun over all improvment even if a place holder waiting to be changed in to AI acting always as coherent fighting force
