If all the factions have a resource port the competition is not reduced. Just look at what happens with the teak. And a dutch or danish player pays the same for the game as an english player, so I think thats it's unfair that one can access those resources and the others does not.
GB has no teak, or white oak, perhaps not even any live oak as well. I don't see your point here. Spain has all of those I believe, though granted you gave some to the russians i guess to be 'fair'.
It isn't about fair, its about creating something to fight over.

I'm sorry, but I think that response is bad manners. In my post I try to explain that the new resources created must be distributed equally, not that I want or not to go to get it.
But that is not the point of it, the reason it was done this way was to encourage competition for it. At least this item has no impact on the actual rvr battle itself unlike Cartagena tar. Hopefully this means the gulf will actually see some activity now.

Has this been taken out now? I was outside the capital and attacked by an ocean in the green zone and no button? Fortunately, server maintenance saved me but with a full Indiaman this was not funny, this was screw this game im done!
if he attacked an ai beside you it will pull you in. To counter this tactic, invite Clerk from combatnews to a battlegroup and this will not happen.

i thought no one was getting repairs back, seems to be confusion about whether they are or aren't getting repairs back...
-
so what is shabby?
-
add the option to disable all repairs...

this one keeps coming up... i think for now the only change coming up is that ships will sink slower.... but I too hate the looting system with a passion

Many times when selecting the shop or opening the equipment screen things happen slooowly. The resources in the shop screen can often take 5 seconds or more to appear, crafting can take seconds to update...
Is this being worked on or looked at? This wasn't as significant 18 months ago when the player population was higher...

Yep there are storms, it would be nice to have some idea of what the weather is while in port, including wind direction. Perhaps turn port into an OW instance, where you are looking out from the admiralty house from the balcony. Also permitting the use of the spyglass so you can see what ships/players are moving in and out the harbour or parked outside wating to gank

there was a debate some time ago (maybe 1.5 years :))
Long range frigates were usually supplied for 6 months at sea, average days at sea currently do not exceed 20 days. It was decided against using provisions as consumable as a result.Ok thats fair, I know my longest I think has been around 13 days.
Do you have any measure of the average lifespan of the ships in game? Not days at sea in one sitting, but days at sea between built and sunk?

They are cheap to produce now, but I agree they should be a consumable.

Look at his warehouse.. looks like he stocks up on everything
This maybe easily 'fixed' by forcing a player to actually buy the item after they accept the mission, as much as I hate it, I don't see how else to prevent this.

Was this recently? if so it could have been redeemed items from the Global server. Anyone with a bit of sense stocked up with items on the Global server before it closed and then redeemed them in the port of delivery on the new server. I still have some stuff on my alts I have not redeemed yet.
he buys PVP marks for 400k ea
Yes it could well have been a redeem I suppose, don't know why it would not have been redeemed at kpr though.

One day... there appeared a large mass of non-british goods in Saint Anne (or montego I forget) No idea where it came from, a 4 indiaman fleet could not have delivered it. I ran it back to kpr over a couple days (and you know how much I play) and made 10 mil+. Now I play while at work so no cannonfire before 2200 server time, so i trade with that time. Now it is not easy to turn over millions in a short period of time that I can see in safe zones. Usually all the items produced in the safezone belong to your nation. The only time you find goods from other nations is when something strange like happened at Saint Anne, or players just selling their loot at nearest port. I used to lap jamaica buying this stuff up, but I am not the only one doing it, and lately its not worth it.
Some nations may have other nations goods closer to their safezone than others perhaps, but I have yet to find a 20 minute trip pay off in millions. Ok closest I have come is by using the euro trader to buy resources and then sell at kpr to try and shoot down some of the ridiculous prices, but that often takes time for the contract to sell out.

More than half the map is deserted... I came across 6 undercrewed spanish indiamen north of the vera cruz safezone the other night, they just ducked into the first port they could. (I was only in a surprise)
Huge areas of the map are safe because no one has a reason to go there except the occasional trader, and some areas are a long trip to find nothing to shoot at. I dunno how we solve that with the realistic map..

under missions in port, its all the rage these days, can't lose your ship but it does consume repairs.

Well, make Refits or permaupgrades an item with weight 200-500, so that you can't transport it with a basic cutter. Now you have to transport the item or your ship from or to the production port.
But now the mod has weight... do we now add 'weight' to the ships when applying the mod? or...

Would be nice to see selectable limits, such as rate of ships min/max, size of battle 1v1, 3v3, 5v5 etc
Perhaps one more would be to have a selection which decides if it is a port setting and if one team is defending or not... mebbe thats going too far...

actually now i think about it.... whats the point of it being just for books... how many people actually sail with a book... and if they are its because they are going to sell it or just looted it.... and want it for an elite book, or to sell it.
I don't see the point of the change to allow books to be put in captains chest.. even mods these days. Do away with the captains chest except for marks...
By allowing books to go in the chest it now removes any risk from trying to move a valuable book you likely only have an interest in selling.
