  1. Everyone has their own opinion on the matter and they have every right to think as they please. That's why America IS the greatest country on the face of the earth. God bless American and Happy Independence Day !!!!
  2. I would love to see more battles added to the current game... possibly a dynamic campaign having you start as a Colonel and only having control over units you directly command by your rank and let the AI control the strategy / other units. As you promote, your control increases as do the number of troops you command ( Brigade, Division, Corps, General of the Army).
  3. This battle needs a revamp in my opinion .......
  4. I was surprised how easy it was to win on the final day by taking the southern objective and pushing up the union flank while putting slight pressure on their front. Oh... if only Lee had listen to Longstreet. I've played everyday of Gettysburg and found CSA victories are pretty easy at any stage of the battle. Day 1 You really have to push hard and quick to secure the heights and then push the enemy north of the city and use my reinforcements from AP Hill and Ewell's Corps to crush their flank on his arrival. Longstreet's Corps I cut across the flat field west of Seminary Ridge and position them to attack Cemetery Hill as soon as the map opens up. Usually works out perfect..... on BG level that is!!!!
  5. Like to see a video of how that battle played out!!!! You better come command my troops at the Washington battle.
  6. I think with the type of fighting and combat that occurred in the pacific that this gameplay could be tweaked to accommodate a really nice WW2 Pacfic War game.
  7. Hell ....I just played another full campaign on Colonel level ( just to see the victory screen : ) and showed up with 160k + troops to Washington and still got my ass kicked. The issue is the inability to use your flank troops for the southern part of the defense and the crazy requirement to hold every damn fort and the city. With 3 Corps on the top half, 1 depleted Corps is not enough to hold all 3 objectives on the bottom half of the map. I had over 3/4 of my men trapped on the top half of the map ..... very frustrating. Back n forth ....back n forth......just when you think it over there is another damn phase until there seems to be no realistic possibility to get a victory. The top part of the map on Day 2 has more damn yankee cannons then I saw the whole game!!!!! Now I know others have apparently won the Washington battle but I just don't see how. This last battle has really made me hate what I think is one hell of a great game.
  8. Agree....Day one at the Battle of Washington was a great fight...tons on maneuvering and objectives.I really think that it should have ended there. Maybe a day 2 on Legendary Level for the crazies !!!
  9. I complained on this earlier as well... day two is a little ridiculous. I was on BG level and there is no way I could field an army to cover all the locations to hold off the hoard that came after me..... especially after the attrition on the first day of battle. The southern part of the map was a slaughterhouse!!!
  10. I may have to try that at some point if I can't find a win. I just finished up another battle this afternoon and this was the best one I've had. I came within 30 minutes of a win but my lines crumbled at the church and sunken road right at the end......oh so close!!!! Damn you Antietam!!!!!
  11. I thought the smaller battles would help me by increading my recruit numbers slightly and according to my Intel the ememy was a total of 15% smaller from the loss at 2 Manassas and the 2 smaller battles prior to Antietam..... 5% less for each victory. Still faced 113k. On the early release I actually won Antietam on my first go. Was like damn I'm bad ass!!!! After the initial updates I've never pulled a victory since.... even on the historical battle. Overall.....Antietam is my Achilles Heel..... although I did cheat once and pull all my forces into Sharpsburg and fight a defensive battle from the town. Once the clock was close to ending, I ran my Calvary I hid on both sides and took the church and sunken road right when the clock ran out!!! : ) hey..... it worked!!! I wish there was a way to retreat from the field and take the reputation hit but save your army. I mean a real general could decide to retreat and fight another day if he knows a defeat is inevitable.
  12. Lol.... no Lee I be.... apparently !!!! : )
  13. Great Job.....Can't figure out why I had 113k vs 60k and you had 73k union troops. I felt I had pretty convincing wins at every battle prior to Antietam but still the union brought a huge army to the field !!!! Facing an almost 2-1 deficit it seems impossible.
  14. They basically all say what an awesome General I am and how they need more troops to help defeat me. The usually reply with we will send X number of troops or updated weaponry to assist them. Not saying it's a negative but the captured reports all feel very similar. I'm in the middle of Antietam now.... good god what a blood bath. I ended up with 62k vs 113k. No way I'm gonna hold all 3 victory points. I'm struggling at the church and the next wave is coming across the bridge in droves......so screwed!!!!
  15. So I started an new CSA campaign on BG level to do a run through with the new changes to see what I thought. I didn't see the Fixed Unit option button and still kinda confused on what it did or didn't do. Is it no longer an option? So far I've played all the way through 2nd Manassas ( Bull Run) and I like what I see so far. The captured Intel reports while adding a small touch are kinda gimmicky as they basically say the same thing over and over. I still feel the skirmishes are pretty stout as I had a small group of 100 hold a 2000 man regiment at a standstill for quite a few volleys in several ocassions which seemed unrealistic to me. I tried to fight smarter this go around to minimize my own casualties after taking the victory points. I always seem to want to keep pressure on the enemy right up till the FINISH button comes up which of course increased my casualties in the past. Trying to use more restraint this go around !!!!! : ) At this point after 2nd Manassas I have a total of 60K troops in my CSA Army. Not sure if this is good or bad compared to others as it looks like the Union will have 120k at Antietam to face me after a quick sneak peak. I haven't fought the two smaller battles prior to Antietam so my numbers and theirs may change some. Regardless, I'm predicting a bloody beating by the union at Antietam with their 2 -1 superiority unless this latest update makes this battle different than in the past. I always struggle at Antietam it seems. Some minor updates I'd like to see. It would be nice to use real pics of commanders when possible, even if it was something the user could download themselves. Also be nice to make it easier to move units for one Corps to another when they are full and also move commanders around which can be a pain too. Regardless, this is one fantastic game which I've enjoyed from day 1. Well well done!!!!
  16. The problem I had on day 2 was the lower half of the map which included Washington and the 2 forts......both times I played I could field enough troops to defend all 3 locations sufficiently. I may need to rethink what Corps go where on Day 2 to mount a more effective defense. I also may need to work on my strategy on taking the forts as I struggled on repeated attacks on the 2 lower forts of Day 1. They were damn stubborn!!!,
  17. Well....maybe it's just me but I personally think the Batlle for Washington is a great battle on Day 1. It's a solid slug fest with numerous objectives to take and a lot of maneuvering which is quite taxing on your manpower. A really fun battle although the AI seems to have a lot more resistance when it's in the forts than when you are in them. Now Day 2 is pretty ridiculous in my opinion. After a crazy battle the day prior where you took all the victory objectives, you are forced to defend all the forts and D.C. with a depleted army against a now rejuvenated Union army that has twice your numbers. No doubt the last battle should be tough but damn...... I think Day 2 kinda ruins what was a solid ending battle. Now I play on BG level so I can even imagine what MG or Legendary is like!!!! It will be interesting to see what others think to see if it's just me and I'm just a crappy player!!! : )
  18. So...at battles like Fredericksburg where you have ammo dumps, can the wagon go to these sites to reload?
  19. I like to play the Historical Battles on BG level and I have tried every strategy I can think of and I can not win. I won in my campaign but that's it. I did cheat once and pulled all my units into Sharpsburg except Calvary that I hid in the woods and fought a mass defense from in the city, then with a little time left I sent my Calvary to take the 3 other victory points as they were undefeated. !! Lol...not sure Lee would have approved!!! : )
  20. Cold Harbor on BG Level I hit em hard on day 1 ...... god knows I can use the recruits especially with a 4K loss but with a 20k+ recruits for the victory it will help out the manpower for the end stretch. Will play another game not as aggressive to see how the other days play out but this certainly seems like a hard one for the CSA if it goes beyond the initial battle.
  21. Regarding historical battles, has anyone ever won Antietam playing the CSA on BG level? I've tried every strategy I can think of but their manpower at this battle wears me down every time. I actual won it in my CSA campaign but playing Historical, this is the only historical battle I can't find a victory no mater what I try. if you have, what was the strategy you utilized thanks!!!!!
  22. Take your time.....I'm still getting arse handing to me in the Historical Antietam playing the CSA !!!!! : )
  23. Lol... I never use my laptop to go online... other than when STEAM updates or Windows updates hence why I just take a pic with my phone.
  24. Yeah... I beat it in my campaign but I can never hold the church in the historical game. I get pushed off every time. I just went through and started playing the historical ones on BG level. My last 2 games I got carried away and and kept encircling the Union troops trying for a high body count instead of just taking the victory points and holding for a victory. Both Malvern Hill and 2nd Manassas was a blood bath!!!! Next is Antietam so I'm going get clobbered!!!!
