I'm interested in testing out these changes, the one that really worries me though is ammunition, I understand in real life these ships had limited availability of shot and powder and that occasionally that led to one ship winning over another. But in this game i think limited ammunition would just over complicate things and depending on how it was implemented open it up for abuse. I.E. in a system where ammo is replenished after battle, a lone frigate tagging and letting go a SoL over and over again to eventually get the kill, an extreme example but still possible. and if we had to go back to port, that'd be one more trip i just wouldn't want to take. especially since  single battle atm would consume an entire shot supply

  2. I welcome everybody to post something about the game that really makes no sense.

     

    I will start with something that I had to learn the bad way, that is, by doing it:

     

    I crafted a Surprise, a green quality one (which is what devs want us to do now!), and gave it Speed bonus, just to try and improve it a little bit. It turned out that by giving a green quality ship a speed bonus, means that actually its no bonus at all, but a penalty of -0.57knots in speed!!!!!!!! That´s right!! I chose speed bonus and got a speed penalty instead!!!! It makes no sense!

     

    I am fairly sure either 

     

    A. you used a wood which gives a speed penalty

     

    B you puts guns on it, and their weight its causing you to lose some speed

     

    C a combination of A and B

Honestly i have no issue without commas, in fact its actually better this way because the European system, uses '.' instead of commas, and i think you can imagine the confusion from US players over that, as well as from European players if they saw ','. I think its fine as is, everyone can count and understand. just count your zero's and its all good, however I wouldn't mind something like a space in between so it'd appear as "10 000"  :D

  4. I'd say, keep them, just for completions sake so we can search on your document for a certain trim and see what counties right there, as opposed to search all regions on the map. also with this new tool tip I suppose this confirms that some regions have no trim... that makes me sad :(

  5. They stated in the patch notes, that all ships on sale were removed for the price sold, I.E>. they bought out the ships in the shop.

     

    same for the quality, the stats remain the same, but they lowered some ships to mastercraft,

    1. ship colors have changed for some vessels, due to recalculation of the color of the tooltip. Stats and parameters are the same. Color indicated that there could be better ships now."

    Just wanted to quote this because I still play Civ II. Albeit heavily patched to even marginally function on modern computers and OSs XD
  7. you didn't even capture/sink him in the end? so how was he 'dealt' with as it were? In fact this appears to just show a typical run of the mill loss for the brits, due to poor organization, We've really got to step up our game if we want to even attempt to 'deal with' LV. Though I do give points for Gunboats, gunboats are kewl

    This is true, and though I can certainly understand why people may want to go after him. the problem that is causing this is going away completely soon^tm. 

    So I would't make too much of a fuss over, it heck, not even sure the brits can muster that large of a fleet (let alone have everyone willing to potentially sacrifice their 1st rates or others) to attack PA, especially since we get it back anyway when the patch drops

  9. lol 5/10 most recover?look letter to the king +22 in a week , and now up to  like+ 30, again    you try to diminish us like Jeheil by a good 1/5 1/3 of our real success.  Must be an inferiority complex?  or is becouse we sieging jamaica again?

     

    Yeah your issue is the non objectivity,  pirates owned for what 2/3 of the time, more territory then brits, but is not the ports that matter right? 

     

    The average pirate clan now is vastly more competent in pvp then the other nations. beside some very small pvp clan.

     

     

     

    You evidently didn't read what I said, or at least didn't understand it, I never said the pirates didn't own most of the map, they did for a while, and because of the 'friendliness with the Danes' effectively owned approx 90% of it. 

     

    What I am saying if that, just because you owned 2/3 of the ports for however many months, means little when you lost most of them afterwards. I remember personally, when the dutch took Little inagua, the swedes took Parrot cay, lorimers etc at that time the Pirates 'lost the war' in my opinion. I never said i was objective, but when i saw the pirates went from hegemony over the entire map to a few ports, it was damn like the collapse of the Soviet Union. This was all done in pre-alliance (if my memory serves me right). In your mind you may have won pre-alliance because at one point you controlled, well lets be honest - the entire map - for a good portion of that time. But to me It means nothing to have controlled the map for so long, only to lose most of those gains it at the end of the era. Have the Pirates recovered? yes i think pirate 1st rates outside of KPR is evidence enough of that, and though to an extent i'm glad to see them back (mainly for the PvP) This recovery is all post alliance patch, which is outside the scope of what jeheil, and I was argueing

     

    also I left the last point because its true, in fact you bringing up the siege of Jamaica, I think its a good thing, It will hopefully get some of the lazier brits off their seat cushions, and will hopefully result in some good PvP

    pirates faded away only in last 2 months  of 6-7 months of pre-alliance patch  with koto as clan dead, and sorry-rubly inactive and under attack of brits usa swedish dutch and later even other nations like france-danes supported the attackers    

     

     

    It appears right there you are saying that despite having preformed admirably, or wonderfully, crushing opponents wherever they appeared, that you 'faded' away, and lost a large amount of ports. Which I think going from 120 ports, to however many it was before the most recent recovery(5/10?), is reasonable to call that something of a 'Loss'.

     

    not necessarily a valid comparison, but Napoleon at one point controlled most of Europe (in one way or another), but in the end he lost it all, I'd like to see an argument he won that series of wars, outside of the fact he survived them all.

  11. I agree the open missions are a big problem. Either the ships coming in have to spawn very very far away or the battle has to close at some point.

     

    On one hand with the new ROE attack circles you are removing players from dropping into the battle, while on the other hand you are opening up attacks at any point in missions... I am just confused where the Devs stand on late start instance spawning

    By "open Missions" Admin seems to be refering to 'hostility missions' which i suspect are different from normal missions newbs do, and they are given, inside an enemy region to raise hostility

    No timers on Port Battles? Great! We will see again solo'ing empty ports late in night, like 4-5 players taking empty port, not a PvP 25 vs 25...

     

    Still no ship deliveries...

     

    2x new ships only 1 dura? Probably Basic AI ships it will be... Basic, 1 dura new ships, perfect for testing!

    Still no Santa Secilia?

    No Deadman's Chest Event rework?

    No change in blueprints of Gunboat, Agamemmon, L'Ocean, Heavy Snake? Nice, only a few can craft them, I wonder what happens when "these few" will quit the game :)

     

     

    Srupl, Keep in mind the entire PB mechanic is changing, The enemy will have plenty of notice as too a Port Battle, and Im not sure that it'd be easy to get the to proc at night, and even after the 48 hours notice having no body show up to defend
