Attacking pearl harbor was a horrible mistake. Searching for a good gameplay and testing options - some of which might fail - can never qualify as "horrible mistake".

Ok, not "horrible mistakes"..But mistakes, which are time consuming and completely unnecessary.

    #New boarding, another example.

('Btw, attacking Pearl Harbor wasn`t a horrible mistake, but gambling, nothing unusual for Admirals/Generals, first strike to weaken an enemy is never a mistake... (Japanese reconaissance just wasn`t able to find US carriers, which weren`t in Pearl Harbor that day..bad luck ;))

Night flips I consider an injustice, and as such I rebel. When we removed the global server many warned that this would happen, and not just the Spanish. And if they did it to another nation, they would also think and say that it is an injustice. I understand that people from the other side of the Atlantic have the right to have port battles in their schedule, that is why they should not close the global server. And port timers is funny, it turns out that the game is configured to capture ports, the more better and then you have to abandon them because you can not keep them economically. I think if there are reasons for the complaint. Así que no me vuelvo loco por perder puertos sino la manera en que nos los quitan.

Every nation has an opportunity to set timers for each port. I don`t understand what your problem is.

It is a fair solution to all nations, after the "suffering" and moaning we had in the past about nightflips and teatime flips ;)

If you don`t want to hold the port, remove timer and save money.

Sounds good.  Capturing nation could seize all goods.  Paid for or not. Or the capturing nation could just leave the contracts unchanged.  It could be a choice.  But regardless, changing it won't stop Alts from setting prices.

Although I disagree that contacts are too long

At this specific point, the alts are not the problem. My issue is that after conquering the port, basically nothing changes with contracts which are 1 week old. In valuable ports, which are providing precious goods(woods or ingredients for refits), it means sometimes that you need to overbid the old contracts, plus the new ones.

There is no point in status quo after losing the port. Therefore all contracts should be claimed and/or automatically deleted after the maintenance.

Alt accounts or main, can start biding again, the old ones need to go.

    Battel of Roseau

    8329071BF7E2707B10BED67D2596DE10752B05CD

After the Swedish nation had lost the port Roseau against the french a while ago, we destided to strike back and get back our Elsaß-Lothringen.

To get into the portbattel, we had to smart-out the russian screening "fleet", who didnt got a fight tonight. Ones we made it into the portbattel, all forts and all towers got destroyed by a great mortar brig player, who got more the 600 points for the swedes and then started to shoot the bigger ships of the french fleet - demasting them and bringing fire and death all over their ships.
French tactics were smart too, because they had some smaller ships joining later and because they went for points, trapping more and more ships into a fight of nutrition in B-circel, killing a 3rd rate.
Swedish situation got desperate, after there where only 20 mins left untill the end of the portbattel. Then the french did the only misstake in that battel: they went in. Their first attack looked promising, nearly killing one of two oceans and all swedish hopes seemed to vanish. Lucky for the swedes, one of the old-rabbits stepped up, took over commande and saved the day, by making a brillant maneuver. French got in danger of getting beached and then getting killed by the mortar brig. The rest of the french main force had to split up and got hunted down one by one. One might guess, that there would have been more french losses, if they had gone in earlier. But that wouldnt have changed anything at circle B, were the sweds could slowly but steady win too.
It was a great battel of tactics, that was won, because the french deviated from their original plan, because there was a brilliant mortar brig and because rediii-russians failed to support their allied appropriately. Rumors, according to which the french-rediii-russian alliance is about to break, havent been confirmed yet; we are waiting to hear more from our spies.

Greatest respect to the french from the swedish nation-ts and we are looking to forward to defend it.

Unfortunately, this battle is showing ( and probably most to those which were participating), that notorius "kiting" is still possible. Not judging, just stating, what is already known.

I see no issue here, these contracts will disappear sooner or later and if they drive the price crazy, it means that's a potential way for easy money.

There is a huge issue with this. Those contracts can still be in market for weeks. And since "enemy" can not place contracts in a port which is not FFA, i don`t know why their contracts are still active.

That is why they need to disappear at next day after maintenance.

Absolutely and a choice to be respected same as a player asking a clan buddy to escort. That's a player choice not a mechanic.

How a mechanic that brings a stranger to escort you is better than asking a buddy to escort ? Ain't nobody got time that shizzzzz.... right ?

Same thing if you think about it.

Mechanic can offer a payment to a stranger. Simple.

You don`t like mechanic, ask your "buddy" to escort you.

    What is your problem actually?

    @Fenris

Do not assume whatever I am thinking. Read exactly what is written.

No mechanic will ever replace social get along. That's a fact.

    Thanks captain.

If you feel misunderstood, try to express yourself like all others here in forum, and not like a lawyer. Might help.

Game mechanics determine the behaviour in game, if there are no such "rules" and possibilities, game gets boring and chaotic. State of NA right now. That`s a fact.

You can "get social" without having something against a simple mechanic in game.

Try  not to torp any suggestion which is against your perception of this molested project.

    Thanks captain.

Every line of the code requires time and we being a small indie team cannot focus on everything.
The greatest suggestion was and is to finish the port UI, localize the game, try to bring more PVE content and bring more adrenaline to PVP. This will freshen up the game, bring new users (who hold on because of lack of their language).
As a result a lot of times users might feel that their suggestions are not acknowledged or ignored. Community should help us convey the information on priorities to them and explain that priorities must be finished first before starting work on something else.

Being a small team does not explain why you create horrible mistakes. The best, and the latest example is Requin, among many others. You create problems, and AFTERWARDS you offer solutions which are time consuming.

You have no strategy for this development, no new ideas, it looks to me you are just groping in the dark, hoping to find ANYTHING that would bring back so many which have left.

For 2 years now there is no real development in this game, only repetition of old recipes, with polished surface, and renaming( PVP Event is Patrol zone now), i mean you have been running a test server, just to create 3 bars instead of 2 showing the ship structure and health status....Are you guys seriously trying to tell me THIS has anything to do with a SMALL team?

No Sir, i am not buying it .

No mechanics will ever be able to reach even close to what players can imagine together.

You are wrong again. When a clan needs to escort quartermasters which have loaded 10 000 white oak, essential for any 1st rate port battle fleet, then you can have "social" part and an importance in one matter.

When a single trader just wants protection, because he wants to sell those idiotic trading goods we have in game in a "hostile" port,  because the mechanics in this undergoing game are not protecting him, THEN he needs a mechanic which he can use for his benefit. And a simple board, where he would be able to HIRE escort would do. If an independent player wants/needs an escort WITHOUT any  INGAME mechanic, he will never be able to :1. pay the escort,  and 2. FIND the escort.

All that @admin needs to figure out, is the AWARD for the escorts.

But no....His highness in a high castle, Mr. "i don`t need anything but a pickle in Shroud Cay" Hethwill, is still against it.

Go figure why we have 400 online.

Thanks to you, among many other reasons.

you fell for the oldest trick in the book...……. the "this is my last ship" trick..... ships are dirt cheap and money grows in ports. for example. 2.8mil for a first rate. 2.8mil = 4missions  or one trade run. but I would wager that yall were fighting in 4th/5th rates which are worth less than 1 mil. never show mercy to a rear admiral. if they have been playing the game long enough to reach max rank and still haven't figured out the economy is broken as crap then your doing them a favor by sinking their last ship. you will force them to rethink how they are playing the game...

    Unforgiven but fair ;)

    Of course

But a lot bigger percentage registers on forum to post something they want to be improved or changed (or negatively react to something). Almost zero posts first posts just saying thank you or great game or such... This is universal across game companies.

Many stated many times that the game is great and has a huge potential. However you manage each year to disappoint the "community" with weird actions, and this is totally beyond me.

Could count few of them, but you might imagine which one was the latest..First letter R, and it`s a ship .

Either you are not reading many great suggestions, or you maybe have completely different point of view, how this game should be. And that is why so many left the game, and those who stayed are getting bored.

In conjunction with the universal message board every port would have (a public section and a section only visible to nationals) according to my earlier suggestion...

    ...here...

... by help of such message board I imagine our traders could hire compatriots for escorting them from port A to port B. The longer the distance, the higher the price. It does not stop at this:

Not only could they offer their escorts money as payment, but the game will reward the escorting players with PvP marks for every merchantman which came through and arrived safely. Plus the PvP marks  and combat marks escorts will regularly make when they fence off any interceptors and sink those. Merchant will not get marks, because his objective is met by his cargos having arrived at destination. So in this mission our fighters and our traders have to do something together which satisfies both (and maybe a successful enemy as well).

So this is a more positive use of the PvP mark system, not only destructive. Gratifications for helping some guys bringing their valuables where they want them. I think they could even hire several escort captains if their cargo justifies the extra expense. Like it is an Indiaman full of upgrade modules, or a clan shifts its warehouse from one place to another, or transports full of copper ingots, cartagena tars or white oak. Ships loaded with gold and silver coins like a Spanish treasure fleet.

    painting1.jpg

Contracting merchant appoints a convoy commander (could be himself or one of the escort captains he trusts the most) which determines the route.

If group is attacked on the journey it behaves like a battle group, so all ships get pulled into battle instance. However, convoy commander can decide to detach one of his escort captains (if they are several) and have him encounter sighted enemies, so the rest of the fleet can proceed without delay by the starting battle, leaving the unit behind which is busy with the enemy. I think it is best to give every participant of such merchant fleet escort mission his reward in PvP marks/combat marks, if he sailed only half way and went into battle (even lost it), or stayed until destination port was reached. So they won't quarrel who is doing what on the journey and facing disadvantages. Because priority task is, the merchant ships make it to port and the mission is accomplished.

I imagine a thrilling hide-and-seek adventure for such merchant escort missions to happen. Spies in ports may get a wink what's scheduled and inform their nations where and when to strike.

How many marks? Think of a multiplier distance + number surviving traders. If no trader arrives, no marks (except those individually won in combat): mission failed.

    Yeah...Another try :)

Noble effort, many tried before. I hope @admin reads you.

That is actually part of the problem, because clans beaming themselves into other nations can torpedo what is believed there to be the national stance (as it is now), thus sabotaging relations to other nations (and clans who are serious about their position in the game world, if you like that better). It is a chaos factor at the present, without disciplinating measures in sight.

Yep. Well said. A "chaos factor".

And not a "content" like some might believe.
