  1. wowzers, so after like 2 months i think 'i feel like shooting some balls at some sea mans' and update/boot up naval action...

did they end up fixing all that shit with the balls bouncing off all the ships and stuff and the invincible masts?

  2. So in the future, we have to always have boarding setup to get money from battles?

Gold boarding upgrades, will be even more important in the future I assume?

    edit..

Or we still get money from Kills/Assists?

You see, in the real life in the past, you didnt get gold coins just for killing some ships, so it can't be in the game even if its fun.

    Happy to help.

  3. Before any more time sinks, put in quality of life improvements.

Land is battles was really cool but its been all downhill since then, and the new tagging/reinforcement junk kind of spoiled the good from land in battles.

Anyway before a garbage time sink like making people sail ships everywhere all the time, at least try to find the time to make quality of life improvements.

  4. It took me five hours, loooong ago, to half circumvent the map, along the coast, from Dutch Capital to Key West. I visited all Free towns along the way, had a chat with a pirate, ran from another, found some US guys and had a nice talk. Five hours of exploration and sight seeing, while listening to TS port battles in the Dutch-French war of long ago.

I did, back then establish 2 outposts in that half world trip, 1 at Great Corn, another at Key West.

I do not believe for a second anyone travels more than 1 hours to go to ANY frontline. It takes that much time AT most to Setup an outpost in a free town.

Unless you have all your outposts clustered in on place - I bet you do for you craters greediness - it is no issue and I think it is highly rewarding to go one, ONE, session on exploration and circumvent the map and Setup outposts where you need them, especially...ESPECIALLY if you crave pvp so much.

From those forward bases you can hit and effectively capture, if you like capturing ships so much, enemy ships and bring them back to your forward base.

No one is messing with the game. But surely it messes with some players Comfort. Time to adapt.

Same thing happened last big patch. Traders had to adapt. No more cargo teleport. Now it is time for the "troopers" to adapt.

    Thanks for sharing.

I still dont like the 12th April land patch that disable capturing ships because the things I already explained before, even if that patch has made me rich as Croesus because I did level up my crafting skill to max level.

Some people always want to make the game mechanism change into something that favours them only and dont really care about all others. In my opinion, it could never be good to favour some few elite.

I know some players that left the game because they complained the game is a bit slow to find battle. Maybe adding more difficulty on crew management will make the game even slower and discourage even more people.

    It will for sure.

  6. The point is we don't sail 5-6 hours a day now because of teleporting and ship teleporting......the best change in the game over the last 2 months has been no timer on teleports.

I think the argument is that the Devs want us to sail our ships to FOB rather than teleporting them which to be honest sounds to me like a huge timesink with zero excitement and fun.

The other byproduct is that capturing ships means we get depleted crew and have to sail as a fleet of sub par crewed ships.

The whole problem with this concept is it detracts from combat and goes for more time sinking ...it isn't immersion its frustration.

    Sounds fun though right?

The game will be more fun after this change than before, right?

  7.

Usa got destroyd by 1 clan not the "pirates"    is all a question of organization, wise choices, and determination.

    Dear Vicious,

last time I checked USA is still a Nation, TF and TDA are still clans and we didnt surrender... so what did you "Destroy"?

    I must be missing something

    Any faint pretense of dignity.

  8. Just had a thought and not sure if I missed it in the responses.. But this losing crew and having to go back and hire more is going to make the Mission system basically worthless... I just lost 70 crew to gun fire on a Bellona through undamaged sides from range(over 250m)  If we are looking at those kinds of crew losses you can just limit us to a single mission at a time no need for 3 now...

Naval Action  Crew Management and Hours Long Sailing :(

NA Is already time-consuming enough, please developers do not make any more changes that increase time sinks or introduce new time sinks.

  9. You need to add a "teleport ship between outpost" feature that is a gold sink or something. Before any of this time sink stuff you have proposed here.

Using capture to move ships between outposts is and has always been a core game mechanic, the way human beings actually play and enjoy your game.

I don't know why you think people will spend hours sailing ships between places when they used to be able to spend a little time finding a trader to capture and teleporting it. People won't. People weren't willing to spend another 30 minutes to sink a ship when they used to be able to do it faster, look at the response to your last "make everything take longer" change.

Are you going to change the name of your game from Naval Action to something reflecting the lack of action and bigger focus on reenacting the lengthy tedium of historical sailing?

  10. Having the computer automatically fire each gun when it knows it will score a hit is bad. Ie, firing as you bear.

Like the guy said, your 'gunners skill' is really your skill in moving the ship and selecting which fire settings, sail setting etc will result in the guns bearing at the same time they fire.

  11. I'm not sure it was 'vanity'as much as it was the attempt by people to emulate a game mechanic that was missing. There will always be people who prefer not to 'go along with the others'... That's fine, but the end result is what we see here.

"They are vanity, the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish."

    Jeremiah 10:15

  12. Forgive me if posted before but a very important thing is missing:

Fixing the ghostlike cannon balls that just pass through the enemy ships without any contact to hull, wood splittering or anything else.

    Video example:

    Credits to Cpt Blackthorne

Mainly but not only seen while fighting enemy ai ships.

This, I do not like to shoot and have the cannon balls just magically disappear because of the new magic armor meta.

  13. i hope its not random :)

it uses the center point of attacker and defender that are creating the battle, draws a vector and places spawns accordingly based on attacker and defender positions.

Being able to use this to do ganks that exploit the 'join spot is on land' feature where no one can help the victim, no matter what, is a really bad mechanic, it is plainly broken.
