And whatever prompted maintenance is apparently complete and steam is back online. May have been connectivity via ISP if other users didn't report. Very clear messaging in steam application that maintenance was occurring.

Like the title says. I jumped on and the steam servers were offline. If you're using the steam version check your friends list to see if the server is up. If the servers are undergoing maintenance it will say so in the friends panel. Is there a way to get a user/pass if we want to connect using the same creds, but as a bypass to the steam auth in the event they have unexpected outage? Don't get me wrong, SSO is the bee's knees, just don't like outage via 3rd party.

I saw the gameplay of the battles and was immediately excited. Enough to buy. Now I'm into it 10 hours, feels like a horrible grind, I have enough cash to buy a ship, but haven't because I'm afraid of losing hours of work. And that's really the crappy part. As someone who just jumped in and tried to figure the game out it feels like work, with the possibility of losing everything you work for. So in 10 hours I went from really exited, to really disappointed and regretting the purchase.
