  1. Some different PvP tournament events have some rare blueprints/gold/ships whatever as prizes. Extra points if you can get a Clan VS Clan lobby in the mission screen with a resetting ranked ELO style system and leaderboard with monthly prizes for the top scoring clans Port Battle is fun but messy and running, small ship screens and towers and lots of other factors add gameplay depth for the OW but it would be nice to have a straight fight also. It would also encourage pushing the combat to extremes and help test ship balance and abusable tactics.
  2. i like to boat and shoot the boat guns but some people may not like boat guns?? why? I do not know For those people I have some ideas. -I think it would be neat if you got some small XP amount for every port you visited. Perhaps a nice chunk for certain far off ports or ones away from your capital. Providing some non combat progression for new players and for people that like to trade and explore. -Offer a daily trade mission from NPC like the battle ones. It would be like deliver x amount to y place. These missions would cost money to accept if the goods were provided but reward more and offer XP. Limit how often you can accept these to encourage actual sand box trade routes. -Instead of the very exciting "ship reports" have very rare treasure map drops that provide a vague hint based on difficulty. Perhaps a port or even a general region for the harder ones. Have it spawn an event similar to the mission ones and when it is reached provide some rare or unique reward. The people that get the maps but dont care to wander around can sell them to others. Have the rewards range from pretty much junk or gold to some really cool stuff that cant be crafted. TY MENS
  3. These players are clearly perfect for pirate faction swap em, then the game can work like they think it should work (after the next update)
  4. About an hour and a half in there was some crossed swords and I got all excited. It turned out it was a 1v1 combat event in the middle of nowhere. With no rewards outside of standard damage gold/exp.
  5. YoYLO where is my chievo
  6. Breaking news MOD pirates try grouping and joining small battle with 3 snows, Lose all 3 to my snow a brig and heroic cutters.
  7. yo word on the street is u wudnt fight bois??? UK if u scared say ur scared if ur not rammin ur boats ur not really tryin imo
  8. we sinkin hella pirates out here bois 2 niagras and 2 snows down today get rekt pirates
  9. if u pirates wanna fight again get at me small sons
  10. Here we see the pirate in his natural habitat yet again catching each other on fire
  11. Ive been harassing the pirate scums in the bahamas. With the help of one NPC cutter I took down a snow.
  12. The grind desperately needs adjusted xp incentives for using the non-rate ships other then the free cutter yacth really must be implemented.
  13. Each mission is 50 xp base you can get out around another average 50 for the battle knowing what you are doing but quick completion usually gives you 30-40 but we will say 100xp a mission. That is ten missions at least. Each mission takes 5-20 minutes to get to and 15 minutes to complete. I see how you can say a "few hours" but realistically for someone who knows what they are doing its going to be 3-5 hours. Now your new player might not even be able to win his battles at first much less find his missions or even how to get missions. Max exp while min travel time repair at sea etc. Someone who is competent but new to the systems is probably looking at 10-11 hours someone who is new to this style of game or lost could probably spend 20+ hours before getting the first level. The kicker is that first level unlocks stone nothing useful. Incremental steps and reasons to use the non-rated ships besides the cutter/yacht are absolutely vital to this games success. Otherwise you are just going to see a huge chain of refunds and/or one time players. And this is all just doing the most efficient mind numbingly boring missions. Yes you can get good rewards from the small battles and it is way more fun it is just much less efficient. A good game I can get 100xp plus easily but there are so many variables including if someone runs the edge of the map taking up the whole battle timer. A string of 3x missions beats that out. If you play the PvP battles you will end up far behind the people that are grinding missions.
  14. There is an optimal way to farm xp from the npc that isn't clear at first. Your estimates are about the very high end max gain from a mission, 15 minutes is also about optimal completion. Maybe you are playing the bugged pirate mission spawns right outside the harbor but most take from 5-20 minutes to get to. So lets say 20 minutes sailing 20 minutes mission complete time. Even using your ridiculous low estimates for a new player completion time you are looking at 8 hours. Even doing nothing but grinding missions the most efficient way to gain xp you could easily be looking at 10 hours to get the next "level" and that doesn't unlock anything interesting besides marginal upgrades/variations of the cutter, and the cutter is free so why risk using a pickle or privateer or whatever. Playing the small/large battles, random PvP on the map is much less efficient then missions even though they are much more fun. This is one of the main problems with this game and about every complaint/bad review that is a simple fix.
