I am a British player and I was tagged by a Danish player, after the battle started a French player joined on my side so instead of running I tried to draw the Danish ship towards the French player. I then noticed that the French player (name: Thomas Cook) was firing on me at first I thought it was just a few stray balls but eventually looked properly and noticed that he was firing on me. When challenged he tried to say that he had accidentally joined the wrong side, yet he still continued to fire on me till I said I was going to report him, then he said he would leave.
In the heat of battle I did not take a screenshot and I do not know if it would have changed the outcome of the battle as I was in a Reno against a Trinc, but a few broadsides from the French Frigate would have had some effect on my sails in what would have been a run away battle for me.
