Collision avoidance makes ships refuse turn orders.

My ships refuse turn orders at all and just sail directly into the enemy formations.

 

Ive restarted this same battle over and over again and its the same thing every time, my ships just ignore turn orders and sail in whatever direction they want because of trying to avoid each other in the fleet.

 

Its very frustrating and nothing i do seems to fix it, the ships act like they need  a mile of seperation in order to acknowledge any turn orders, otherwise they just do whatever they want.

Use manual rudder

Don't use too many formations right now. Just maneuver them yourself, and as the above states, use manual rudder when you really need too. Captaining them yourself and keeping them distant will help. Ultimately though the movement logic will need to be improved, and I believe they are continuously doing that.
