Running with Windows 8.1

I'm actually running 'Gettysburg' with Windows 8.1 although I see that you actually recommend Windows 7. The game runs perfectly although every so often it freezes for about a second (suspect this could be my setup rather than anything else) - the only annoying thing I have is the scrolling - the screen will scroll down perfectly and usually to the right but the auto scroll up and to the left is a real pain and takes repeated mouse movements to get it to go. Any reason? Is this a bug or just to do with my setup?
