  1. I've collected images of ships, painting, and age of sail maps and charts from the 'net for a while. It's amazing what you can find out there that really gives you a feel for the era. If anyone is looking for something specific let me know, I may have found it.

  2. I got in just fine. I think it took longer to load than usual but I got in. Said 130 users were currently in. Forgot to check how many battles were going before I quit out.

    Nothing but 'Connection Error' here.

  3. I think a game set in the 18th /19th century without religion of any sort would be a major oversight.

.... I think it has a place in the game albeit not a major one.

Unless you're going to affect gameplay with it you would just be asking for trouble. Even today if you say the wrong thing about someone's faith (even the 17th century roots) you're going to make people very angry.  As for the occasional mention of religion, or inclusion of a chaplain, or whatever, that's no big thing.  But remember the sort of reputations navy chaplains had before you invite one onto your ship! :)

  4. Faith and religion played a huge role in the society and the fabric of life in 18 century. Do you think faith and religion have place in Naval action? If yes in what form?

No.  Faith was a part of society, but at sea it was certainly not a priority unless you were unfortunate enough to sail under a blue-light sailor like Saumarez.  They were not the norm, and it would ruin gameplay for those of us who are not religious to have to put up with it here. *(don't be offended by that comment, just stating facts as I see 'em)

  5. Please select the Independence! It is a powerful razee which would be very maneuverable but with the hull integrity of a second rate. The broadside weight would be insane for a frigate. Historically this ship was very succees

The problem with a razee'd ship is that they were never quite 'right'.  Cut down from their original design, they ended up as "neither fish nor flesh, nor good red herring".  Stick with something that was what it was intended to be.  The Agamemnon being a case in point.
