  1. Currently I have purchased the Prolific Forger DLC so I can change my nation to join my friends and I am unable to utilize it because I am unable to delete outposts that contain ships in them. Currently I am unable to travel to these ports as they are all in enemy nation control and I cannot force remove them even though I have to click through warnings saying if you continue it will delete everything then it won't delete because a ship exists there. And I can't use the Forger because I have outposts that aren't in neutral or free ports.

Thank you for the time addressing this issue. Look forward to hearing back about this soon.

  2. As a compromise, I propose that the Pirate Nation as it currently sits, be split up into a loose coalition(think EU4 HRE) between pirate clans. In other words, each pirate clan that owns at least one port becomes their own "Nation". Non affiliated Pirates or clans without any owned ports could still port up at these different pirate clan ports so newbies aren't left without anything other than free ports to use.

In order to give Non affiliated pirates a chance at having a nation this would be the only case someone would be allowed to pull a flag from a free port (but only once per day or something like that). This has the effect of potentially having small enclaves of pirates setting up shop outside of the main pirate hub in the Bahamas.

With the eventual introduction of diplomacy between nations, these same mechanics should then be applied to pirates between their loose coalition of "Nations", however Pirates and National's should never be able to make a peace treaty between each other. That does not exclude the possibility of some kind of ceasefire agreement where the National party in question pays some kind of tribute every week or so to the pirate clan or clans that signed it.

This proposal would make Pirate internal politics closer to history (just "closer" not exactly) while still remaining fun and interesting.

    TLDR

    - Split Pirate Nation into a loose Coalition of PCN's (Pirate Clan Nation)

    - Only Clans that have captured at least one port are a PCN

    - Non affiliated pirates or clans without a port can port at any pirate port

                           - Can still assist with port assault/defense

    - Non affiliated pirates or clans without a port can pull a single flag per day(make it cost labor hours and gold) from a free port

                           - capable of creating pirate enclaves outside pirate coalition borders

    - National's and PCN can never be at peace

    - National's and PCN can have a temp cease fire but will require tribute by the National

                           - tribute comes from the admiralty coffers(once implemented), amount decided automatically by game, no 0 tribute exploit for constant peace

                           - if tribute can't be met hostilities continue

    - PCN's can make treaty's with other PCN's the same way Nations to Nations would be able to with each other

                           - This includes war, peace, port access, etc.

    TLDR;TLDR

    - Pirate Nation split into Pirate Clan Nations (PCN)

    - PCN can only make treaty's with other PCN

    - PCN can not make treaty's with Nationals except to offer cease fire for tribute

    - Any questions you may have, might have been answered above so please go back and read

  3. The wind really screwed us in that fight, but the point of the fight over all was to engage the heavy pirate fleet to see what we could do despite the wind disadvantage.  We made it possible for the other ports to be taken and we did what we could with a crappy situation in battle.  All in all it was not bad.  These battles are going to get more and more interesting.

I concur with this assessment. We did well despite the disadvantages we faced.

Overall it was a fun battle, and lets try to keep our banter civil and sportsman like.

  4. That is literally useless information.

Do we also need to add decimal points after all the integers in the game, for more accurate data?

Everyone, I think, has had the luxury of learning simple geometry in school.

I recommend imagining a dash in front of the number, and arriving at the exact same result.

Adding decimal points after integers wouldn't make the values more accurate they would become more precise. The negative sign in this case serves as an indicator of direction, which is fairly harmless. Its not the end of the game as you know it, if there's an indicator for the direction your ship is heeling.

As far as imagination goes why not just sit in a chair and imagine your captaining an age of sail ship instead of playing a game based in the age of sail, it is like the same thing.

  5. Degrees relate to the ship resting position on the level sea and works to both boards. Negative would make no sense.

Negative Degrees make perfect sense. Lets say your ship is experiencing a 4 degree heel, on one side of your ship the cannons will be 4 degrees above the horizontal while on the opposite side they would experiencing 4 degrees below the horizontal or otherwise written as -4 degrees. Simple geometry.

This just adds unecesarry work for the devs that will not help what so ever, you can know quite quickly just by feel what way your ship is heeling, also by looking at where the windcomes from

This work may seem unnecessary for highly experienced players but not everyone has had the luxury to play this game since Sea Trials.

This is simply a suggestion for a cosmetic change that doesn't change any game-play but provides more accurate data to the user without the need to "feel" for it.

  6. The indicator that displays the heeling of the ship should have positive and negative values determined by which side of the ship your currently aiming with your guns.

    Example:

Left or Right broadside side: negative values for depression into the water and positive for elevation above the water

Bow or Stern Chasers: negative values for heel to port and positive for heel to starboard

  7. Gaizka, a word of advice, if you wish to be a diplomat there's absolutely no value in posting little barbs like "47 USN kills to 4 of our kills on open water PVP".

First, that has absolutely zero credibility when this seems to have been your first port battle. I'm not sure if you're trying to posit that your clan is more skilled (many U.S. players and a couple of U.S. clans have been playing this game for over a year, not likely), or just that you only engage when the outcome is certainly in your favor (not admirable in the slightest).

For every piece of Spanish propaganda there is a daily new counterpoint, such as yesterday 6 Spanish (2 in Constitutions) running without a fight from 6 U.S. Players (with only 2 in Frigates). There's no way to win to win the "he said, she said" of who is "better" at PvP. All sides will gank and be ganked. And yet only the Spanish of all factions seem to aggressively engage in this particular type of forum braggadocio.

As a diplomat, if you wish to represent Spain or your clan, you'll be most effective if you do so without the false illusions of grandeur. I would advise a representative of any other faction to do the same.

I wish to clarify as I was in this fight, there was only 1 US frigate(myself).

  8. I know I have read before about this being worked on or something like. But anyway if you have been following world of warships, in and of itself a completely different beast of a game however their control scheme for the firing of guns is quite intuitive and simplistic. 1 single left mouse click to fire 1 shot, click and hold left mouse to fire one gun after another in a rolling broadside, double click left mouse for full broadside.

Just throwing this out there as a suggestion.

  9. Aye American Pride gets a little embarassing when you have examples like this. Though I would like to see the USS Texas running on its own power. :P

Still nice to have a piece of history in great condition. Some other US ships are just rusting away.

Every Fall around September/October there is a Naval Wargaming convention held on the USS Texas, can even rent quarters on her, eat in the mess, use the showers, etc. It is pretty cool playing a tabletop game in a dreadnought turret(they are a lot bigger in person O_O).

  10. Generally I believe the use of shell, fused, exploding rounds, etc and naval howitzers became widespread at a later period, the ACW for example, at least for ship to ship combat. Certainly we should have bomb vessels mounting mortars, or even rockets - how else could one have the "rockets red glare", and "bombs bursting in air" at least for the US players!!

But it was the British ships launching them :P.
