I play this very interesting game about two months now, and I have some reflections. First issue I would like to discuss is map and list of ports/harbors/bases. I think actual list is not quite correct, there are some ports, that should have places in game, but they are not "active", and there are some ports, that are in game, and they should not. There are also some ports, than should have another name. Lastly some ports seems to me to big or to small. First - Europe. I will place list with ports and in some cases comment their conditions 1. Great Britain (from north to east) Albion has many ports, but I think there should be some alterations - Scapa Flow - Cromarty Firth (with Invergordon) - this port is missing, historically there was second base of Grand Fleet 1914-1918 - Firth of Forth (Rosyth) - Sunderland/Hull/Yarmouth - three less important ports - Sheerness (with Chatham, another possible name: Nore)!!! - "gate to London" , most important location in England ommited - Dover - Newhaven - really so important? - Portsmouth - Plymouth (or should be Devonport in XIX c. ?) - Barry - is important enough? - Liverpool - Greenwich (Glasgow) - I think this port should be in game - Belfast - Dublin - Cork - Berehaven - large harbor strategically located in case war with France 2. France (from north) France has not enough ports, mostly in north. War with England with only three ports on France's side look strange - Dunkerque - Le Havre - Cherbourg - Brest - Saint-Nazaire - La Rochelle - Marseilles - Toulon - Nice (much smaller port) - only one port in Corsica - Bizerte - Tunis - Alger - Oran (much later Mers el Kebir) 3. Germany (from west) They dont have enough ports! - Emden (much smaller port) - Wilhelmshaven (most important german Nordsee base!!!) - no Hamburg and no Bremen!!! - Brunsbüttel (west end of Kaiser-Wilhelm-Kanal) - Helgoland - Kiel - Lübesk or Wiesmar or Rostock - Swinemünde ! - Kolberg - Danzig - Pillau 4. Russia A. Baltic Sea 1. Libau (and no Klaipeda!!!) 2. Riga 3. Revel (today Tallin) 4. Kronstadt (but not in place of Petersburg!!!) 5. Helsingsborg (today Helsinki) 6. Abo 7. Alands Islands 8. Oulu - not so important but ok B. Black Sea 9. Odessa 10. Sevastopol 11. Kerch 12. Novorossiysk 12 Poti C. Arctic Sea 13. Murmansk 14 Arkhangielsk D. Far East 15. Vladivostok 16. Korsakovsk 17. Nikolaievsk (-on-Amur) 18 Petropavlovsk 5.
