Sometimes this is an essential tactic to preserve ships but it usually comes at a cost, I suggest a prestige hit of at least 5 points if a side retreats from a battle. This might also encourage the AI to not always run away with its multitude of single CL and DD encounters which are interminably dull waiting for the end battle button to appear. Cheers, Laz3456
