Just becase the current version of the mod doesn't need to be updated, doesn't mean you don't have to put the mod back into the game files after an update. The update of course overrid those moded files.

I replaced them again, but now my campaign save won't load. Guess I screwed it up by starting the campaign after the update but before replacing the files.

Thankfully, Nebulous (check them out, its basically UA:D custom battles IN SPACE) has a very good mod scene and as a result some guides on just how to do exactly that!

Let me know if that works out for you!  It will only bundle things that are in a Bundle folder though, so be careful on how your assets are set up in the editor.

Anyone tried this yet? I would be very happy to supply 3D components for the game if anyone with coding experience could gwt them into the game.

This version is full of bugs up to a stage which I would call impossible to play. I cant move my Ships for no reason, after reloading the game i suddenly can, but a few months later its the same. Cant refit sometimes, although those ships are beeing in port. The game is showing my ships to be in battle, but I never got any battle window and next month those ships are back in port with about 60%dmg.

Yes, no battle prompts but ships are in battles according to the fleet screen and ships one builds for other nations remain in the fleet tab.

  4. The AI is completely unable to deal with the new economic limitations. Each round almost every nation is firing their head of the admirality. There is also not a single ship out of port for any nation.

Also I suffer transport losses of 35 million, but I am not even at war! This mechanic of losing money from having less than 100% transport capacity during peace time really needs to be changed.

Hmm guess work would possibly be some driver issue.

Maybe you can use a HW monitor and check if you run into a bottleneck somehow (ram, cpu,..).

Also could check your windows logs for system application, maybe you find some relevant errors there that point you to the right direction. I am trying to help, but currently we need more data to point to the right direction i fear.

It only happens when playing UAD and as I said the system monitor shows that not a single component is under any stress - quite the opposite.

I think in addition to the size of the launchers, the designs themselves should also be handled differently. Neither the Mk.4 or Mk.5 launchers at 21" can be properly fit into the Fast Scout Cruiser design - at least not as a quad launcher. Triples are possible, but with a degree of hanging off to the side. It's strange out of principle that the torpedo mounts tie their design only to their mark level and not also nations, since at the earliest for custom battles you'll have Atlanta-style ships with Japanese Type 93 launchers.

    image.png

I think if it could use the Mk.2 launcher - being the closest in design to the Mark 15 launcher - it could properly fit as a quad launcher. This is comparing a quad 21" of Mk.3 (As Mk.2 doesn't have a quad option) and Mk.5 and the length difference is staggering.

Don't waste your time with the 3D models in this game. There is only one guy working on them and that means that most models are not particularly accurate in their appearance or dimensions. This will only ever change with proper mod support.

    Beta Update v1.3 "Build 5"
    - New models for German late tech guns of large caliber.
    - New models for Austro-Hungarian late tech guns of large caliber.
    - Chinese guns models updated for the large caliber guns.
    - Fixed issues of the new dual barbettes.
    - Lower further the chance for bad weather. Previously the chances for rain and storm were 5.5% and 3.3% respectively. Now it is 3% and 1%, very low chances. If you get too frequent storms  then there must be something not working as expected.
    - Ship physics further improvement for more realistic and consistent acceleration.
    - Torpedo reliability improved (due to weather, torpedoes would deviate just too often, depending on their technology).
    - Battle AI fine tuning.
    - Fixed various minor bugs that were reported (thank you).

Please note that the changes on the gun models will surely affect designs and gun fire arcs. If you notice guns to stuck it can be due to this reason so you will need to update your designs or restart your campaigns.

PLEASE RESTART STEAM TO GET THE UPDATE FAST

@Nick Thomadis Invasions keep failing still. No matter how far on exceeds the required tonnage....

I didn't touch the game for several patches and came back with hope, but will shelf it again. It's still only frustrating and no joy at all - so the absolute opposite of what a game should be.

  8. Played 27 years starting in 1890 as Germany and am just furious now. Land invasions are just ******. In a war against France I have 10x the victory points, but my army with every budget at 100% all the time (no clue if that even makes a difference) can't as much as defend my home provinces! Btw, the AI only gets Victory Points because I can't be arsed anymore to fight any battle that does not at least feature a BB on my side and that in turn means that the hopeless auto resolve screws me over big time.

Also I am trying to conquer Africa, but a) naval invasions with a massive tonnage plus fail again and again and b) even if I conquer all of Frances' terirtories the loss of their supply ports has zero effect on their land bound forces retaking those territories.

It's all just extremely annoying. All I can do as a player should lead to easy world domination but all these mechanics I can't influence AT ALL screw me over HARD!

One more thing, what the heck happened to my economy? I know the US and the UK got a GDP growth boost from government type, but is it too much? They have a combined tonnage of 15 million tonnes and over 2100 ships. How can they maintain that while I was going negative in peacetime for maintaining 90 ships (which, as you can see, I scrapped all of them), I always picked the GDP boost decision, but I had only 6-7 times the GDP of my starting Germany in 1890.

I have the entirety of Russia, part of China, and part of Japan as conquered states, but my GDP was 6% of the US 1.3 Trillion in 1925 and smaller than that of France and Italy... Hell, even partly conquered Japan (North Honshu and Kyushu, Okinawa, and North Hokkaido taken), leaving only South Hokkaido, South Honshu, and the Shikoku on the Japanese side still have more GDP than I do.

I know this game suppose to be hard, but how can I compete with 1k ships when I cannot field 90

No no, that is a misunderstanding. The game is NOT hard, not at all. What you are describing is just a very bad and rudimentary economy system that is still in need of a lot of fixing. Yet at its core this game is way too easy. I can't even recall a single battle that I lost or god forbid that I lost because the "AI" outsmarted me.

All the game does to increase the "level of difficulty" is give the AI even more money and in general introduce features the player has zero influence on (land battles, etc.) The AI designed ships are still way worse than anything a player with a day of experience in the ship builder can come up with so even if the AI has thousands of them all that does is create hundreds of lame battles you are going to win anyway, which in turn is a drain on your time. Which can aslo be said for the argument of "we have shared designs now". Cause I ain't got time to either design a ship for each year, for each tech level and each nation in the hopes the AI has all it takes to build them. Even a whole community will take forever to provide for that. Besides, even then the AI will ruin said designs with the first refit anyway.

So yeah, 1.3. is still firmly headed towards a wall in my opinion, which is really really sad, because of all the wasted potential.

  10. Also you either do something about the negative effects of the weather on accuracy or don't bother players with any bad weather battles. As you can see these ships are about to ram eachother and the hit chance is still zero.

Unfortunately, in its current state the weather is an extremely pointless game mechanic.

  11. @Nick Thomadis The UI for ship directions should not be effected by the weather condition. In any kind of bad weather, as soon as one zooms out even a little bit, the dotted direction line disappears and one no longer knows the direction a selected ship is going.

Also the avoid function is still not working correctly. Friendly ships keep crashing into each other, but more importantly crashing into enemy ships happens every battle - especially in a campaign with an early starting year since the fighting happens at very short ranges.

  12. @Nick Thomadis Another matter are landbattles. Here I am attacking Bohemia Moravia from three sides. The numbers in toatal for all three attacking forces are: 2.055.624 German troops, 318.858 French troops and 423.918 American troops vs. 246.358 Austrian troops. So almost 3 million vs 250.000 and I am not winning. On top of that Austria Hungary is blockaded by me (over a year I think).

So why am I not winning the invasion???

  13. @Nick Thomadis Hey Nick, are there plans to sort out the battle creation? At least on the basic level of location assignment?

In this example a battle has been created off Okinawa Island with a Austo-Hungarian BB that is located in the Eastern Med as the sole escort for a convoy. My German (+ the Korean Breckinridge) ships are all located in the Yellow Sea and the French ship is located in the Adriatic & Ionian Sea.
