Let's not forget about communication improvements which somehow add 500T on biggest battleships

Thank you for giving me opportunity to recreate my favorite modern ship from my least favorite nation: Kirov

Tech boost is now if tech is late by 2 years it's boosted 10x (please let me know if it doesn't seem to boost at all)
It appears that unfortunately this feature doesn't work
Current tech progression is something near 4% per turn, which is close to normal 1-5 which game uses in vanilla. -

so on the last one unless its been fixed back when we could edit the save file, torpedo's stop working above 90knots period the end, they no longer hit anything because they move to fast for the game to detect the impact, and it's unreliable above 70knots
Oooh, I didn't know that. Interesting, thanks for info

Is there a way to add absolutely bonkers modules? For example:
-Atomic Engine as Engine
-Railgun as propellant
-Krupp 2000 as armor
-Rocket propulsion as Torpedo propulsion
-and other wacky stuff -

I know your pain, I'm only play 1890 campaign and not being able to destroy transport ships "The most intuitional way" A.K.A killing everything that dares to oppose you is really annoying. So far I have discovered two solutions to this massive inconvenience:
1. Kill almost every combat vessel except one which you severely cripple, after that you go to the general direction from where enemy fleet dared to approach you. It is my preferred method due to it's simplicity
2. Use cheat engine. So yeah, it's hideous, don't recommend unless you go full cheater mode alt-tabing every turn and in best case scenario reaching radar technology after 40 months of speedrunning rangefinders, and on top of that this tech is not good as other options- 1

I have had it not blockade the french until I sent a fleet to their Mediterranean harbors, so could well be that, seems so anyways.
So, I have to put my fleet on every zone in which they have port? I guess that makes sense, thanks!

I don't believe the game is that complicated at the moment. I think it takes into account their entire coast. So you may have superiority in the Irish Sea, but they have lots of vessels in other regions. Sink more Brits and blockade should enact sooner or later.
1 turn ago I have sank almost all of their fleet only few light cruisers (I think, not sure about that, might have sank entire fleet in one battle)

So I was playing as Germans in 1890 campaign and wanted to destroy British economy by blockade and...
It this case it is better to show than to talk about it:
12212 vs 812 power projection in North sea
3611 vs 0 in English channel
And 5937 vs 0 in Irish sea
I don't know how You guys but in my opinion I should be blockading brits... Am I missing something? -
I used to not put any armor on superstructures on any ship, which was a mistake. While this type of armor is not quite as important as other types in 1v1 scenarios it is necessary to put at least 30mm on battleship when expecting a swarm of enemies (i.e. in campaign) since overpens and superstructure pens can give you nasty -50% accuracy debuff.

You have to have maximum bulkheads or you die. That's it
I can confirm Maximum bulkheads are mandatory, "standard" and "many" bulkheads don't quite work in 1890 maybe because the anti-flood tech is like, nonexistent. However towers posses stat called "damage control" maybe more advanced ships deal better with flooding. I haven't played "modern" battle in a while so I might be completely wrong

I think that there are some urgent issues that need to be addressed
1. Custom gun calibers are very nice addition to game however the implementation is bit buggy. The problem is increasing caliber does not increase reload time which in turn allows to create "almost gun caliber" but with increased reload rate. It also increases accuracy too much. You can create 1890 battleship with 100% accuracy at 1000 meters and 59% at 2,500.
2. Custom calibers also highlight another issue, a "mark" gap. I mean why bother using mark III 406mm cannon when mark IV 381mm with increased caliber to maximum is superior in every way?
3. And for some reason my new 1890 campaign ended after first war.
4. I have confirmed only just now but when designing modern battleships after placing few batteries game decides to not use full power of my Gpu like it usually does and thus game drops from 50-60 FPS to 4. I'm using Nvdia although I doubt that it changes anything
Overall beta update is quite nice, especially since you can use "exploits" to absolutely wreak havoc on AI but I guess it is not intended to happened. -
In my recent playthroughs I have encountered very worrisome bug/feature. The problem is
the AI does not create new ships
This results in short campaigns where technological superiority is guaranteed for player, however the AI does spend money on research since intelligence agencies are geniuses (and I like it) and they provide latest news about technological development from opposing country. Another problem is the fact that 0% crew on Torpedoes does not prevent them from firing and hitting my ships , such event is most common in campaign starting year 1890 or 1900.
Oh yes I would like to ask how sinking enemy's entire starting fleet is counted as minor victory? I was blockaded at some point, but I retaliated. (can't provide screenshot since it took picture of map instead of summary).
I don't know is it indented but ctrl+alt+shift+z is able to hide battle summary and show our ships still sailing which is quite nice. -
While campaign is quite addicting there are some problem. I'm fully aware that this is first version and nothing is perfect, but I wish to share my experience.
My first nation to pick was germany, during this playthrough I was struggling to survive, (un)fortunately game froze during loading next turn. After this event I have decided to read some forum posts to gain knowledge, I gained it and tries again, same result I was getting heavily beaten by British AI. Then I have decided to try Brits, I have smashed Germans in 4 years. This is unironically example of "germany suffers".
General observation: Technological advancements are painfully slow especially when you don't pump money into research
General observation2 : What on earth is 90% nerf to hit chance because target is "maneuvering" even tho it literally has all engines wrecked? (1890 tech)
General observation3: Auto resolve is retarded example - Getting swarmed by TB - encounter-manual result-Death Autoresolve- "light" damage -

I really miss German destroyers with 6 inch guns

there is similar post about same topic saying: "there is something wrong with hard mode". Dev respond was "we are testing and it doesn't change anything right now"

Recently i've came up with idea of modifying battleships bow, this is how i see it (used paint because is easy and fast). About bonuses i think they should be minuscule, bows are not as important as towers. I don't think that implementing such idea would be very hard however considering that UAD team is small i would not be surprised if such concept would not end up in game.

I really hope that key won't end up in my auto-deleting spam folder. I really hope that it won't share the same fate as Xsolla thing to register.

More suggestions:
-mark 5 203mm guns (currently 4 mark max, when 229's and 7 inch are mark 5 which I think is stupid, you literary have a gap between light battleship guns and heaviest light cruiser guns)
-mark 4 460, 17 inch and 406 guns
-all ships designable, currently you have to chose between hull of battleship or destroyer or light cruiser etc. it would be nice to design your whole fleet
-More Semi-Dreadnoughts hulls, pls there are beautiful
-ability to set weather settings
-ability to set different tech year (1940 guns, 1916 propulsion, 1890 armor, etc.)
-torps in hull

Hello
I would like to suggest a new wacky mod idea: "the 10x" - Every modules feature (negative and positive) is multiplied by 10
