It is especially ignorant to claim superiority of antique units of customary usage by using an example of technological success which relies on International Standard metric systems.

NASA put the flag on the moon (among other accomplishments) by using SI units and the metric system. They have *never^* flown a manned/orbital rocket as far as I know designed in Customary units, nor is their flight-path data calculated in it

Only the cockpit instrumentation has ever been in US customary units... (^except for that one case where a Mars satellite was litho-braked because one contractor was using customary units and passed the wrong value to the purely metric/SI NASA systems).

I sometimes use Imperial units for casual speech and for some 'back of envelope' stuff, but if I want *any* serious calculation I will convert any units to SI, perform all calculations in SI and convert back (if needed) for display or colloquialism.

You win for killjoy of the month. 🤡 Thanks for being a fun sucker. 🙄

I especially appreciate being called ignorant for trying to have a little fun on the forums. What a guy.

When many people verbally state the time they say things like "half past eight"  or "quarter to nine'.  But very few people write those as "1/2 past 8"  or "0.25 hours to 9 o'clock"

Whole different can of worms! ;)

I stick with 24hr time because of work but mainly because it pisses my wife off to no end.

  3. Well when you write out the date in longhand or say it in a sentence do you say "Today is July 5th, 2018." or do you say "Today is the 5th of July 2018." ?

I know there are a few of you wout there who are using the Julian calendar so today would be 2458304.500000

Personally I think that the stardate calendar is way more accurate so have a great 47634.44

Stop using mm/dd/yyyy and change it to dd/mm/yyyy for when you press m (top left) date.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that gets annoyed by using this system.

Whose flag is on the moon?  :P

And you can keep your metric system too!  Lol

You assumed it or you can provide a quote?
Game rules concern only NA player in game not his/her steam accounts.

I guess you can say that I assumed it when you previously posted the link for the steam code of conduct.

Violating that code will result in Steam suspensions, since you linked it I figured that you brought it up for a reason. If you linked it for other reasons that are not clear then I guess I just don't understand. Cheers.

It's not hard to figure out when someone is trolling, griefing others on purpose. Even theoretically if he was testing it "for science", where are his reports on the subject matter, where are his constructive proposals on improving the mechanics? i dont see any. Thats what testing is all about its not it?

Running and kiting is allowed. But if you try to just attack and do nothing for 1.5 hours - 3-4 times in a row in a patrol - you might look like a griefer to others.

I see your point Admin, but also remember that although we are "testers" very very few of us are what you are describing above. Those are the guys who are constantly on these forums with suggestions like the original poster in this thread and several other notables who have commented here. These are your true testers. The rest of us, myself included, are paddling around in circles trying to figure out how this game works. we aren't technically savvy nor have deep experience in MMOs. I literally have to google half the stuff these guys talk about sometimes. What kind of a report do you think you would get from Lucky? It is obvious that English is not his first language and it is difficult to understand what he is trying to say. Like in your previous post, communication can easily get lost in translation.

The point I'm trying to make here is that we are all supposed to be friends here working towards assisting you with feedback so you can make the best game that you can. If you want to punish abusers in game you can easily do it with asset forfeiture and chat bans. The idea that you would go to Steam to try to get their accounts suspended or deleted is a little harsh.

    On the topic in general

There are all sorts of grey areas with this case, because kiting is a genuine strategy. Unless you do it 3 times in a row for the purpose to waste time.  Any measures to limit kiting will affect everyone and might make patrols worse as a result.

Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying Steam services, software or other content.

Create a false identity for the purpose of misleading others.

    https://store.steampowered.com/online_conduct/

With all due respect, If you're going to invoke the Steam code of conduct you can't just cherry pick the ones that you like. The above code seems to completely go against the use of alts in our game. There is no reason to threaten to prevent this guy from playing. Some don't like his tactics and that's sometimes just too damn bad BUT we are supposed to be testing this game in all of its aspects. Wouldn't it be more productive to figure out what he is doing and then correct it if it needs to be? That is what testing is all about isn't it?

  8. Try this:

In Steam right click on Naval Action in your library

Got to properties then the Local Files tab then hit the "Verify Integrity of Game Files" button

This should analyze and correct any file errors that you have.

Come on guys, nations don't really matter with your rvr problem, so let them stay.

RvR isn't everyones darling, especially if you're not inclined to play 4-5 hours several days in a row. And maybe still some people prefer to hunt solo or in small groups in enemy waters - and sometimes it happens that they fly the black i was told... ;-)

But it is a good idea to make pirates the most vile hardcore nation with NO safe zones and WITH outlaw battles.

And NO taxes!!! Pirates don't pay taxes to anyone, that's why they're Pirates. ;)

    think about it this way:

    - more graphics equal less content

    - more graphic is bad for low end computers

That's why you have graphics settings in the game. Build the game for the top end computers. That way you either upgrade to enjoy the nice eye candy or you lower your settings to improve your performance. Building for the lowest common denominator would be a mistake.
