  1. Yeah I've been keeping in touch with the guys who moved and they all said best thing they have ever done. Community is great there.

    As always there are undesirables in the community, I can say that the ratio of idiots to pop is far less on PvP1.

Oh you mean only one one server since there is never any admin/mods on PvP2 or PvE?  Just like they posted the hints 2 hours before on only that server and not on the other two?   NO wonder so many PvP1 players got there before the PvP2 and PvE players and haven't been really back on since?   Love how they just ignore the other two servers.  IF these events are so random why can't they change the code for the other servers to be more prime time for them?

     

    One of the main reasons (I presume) is there are no volunteers from PvP2 to be mods, maybe if you were to message one of the devs they might make you a mod.

  3. Can we PLEASE not start this again. Why is it every time our sever breaks 200 a sudden panic to flee to pvp1 starts?

    People are people and the same problem with carebear and pirate hate have been going on forever , see the anti SORRY fights, so just going there does nothing but once again lower our server numbers.

    Were still in alpha so after launch these carebear fools will hopefully be in a minority on both servers or at least not be a majority.

    The real problem stems from the devs turing the focus on missions inches from home port thus catering to the carebear babies. Then they start altering port battles to fit carebear play since port battles seem to be the on pvp carebears play.

    What shpuld be done is allow port battles in pve server and not allow ANY open world pvp to be engaged. Problem solved for all carebear types and then true pvp players can have our server and let it be tuned to pvp not carebear vs carebear.

    What would this solve? PvP2 would be left with even less population and a more insecure playerbase.

  4. A long time ago in a universe far far away, there were two nations battling it out, havin' fun (with the occasional banter) and enjoying the game. However the big bad Someone? came along and made it into a Three nation server, then four... WHATTT??.

     

    It has been a very long time since I have even bothered to look at this server. I think the last time I was on I sold vics,pav's and all manner of ships for the price you would pay for a chinese tooth.

     

    One of the main problems with this server is the lack of PvP. people say that the like the low pop? I say go to the PvE server, that's what it's there for, it's for those who like the lack of PvP. I am not telling you to go to PVP1, in fact I'm hoping you go to PVE one, if you are a person who likes PvP, set it up, if people don't take it under themselves to get the server moving again nothing will happen.

     

    I say to those who like a pop of 150-200 who think that people are "sabotaging" the server, your right, you are sabotaging it yourself.

  5. Although I do think PvP2 will be important upon release, I do think that as of now PvP2 is of much importance due to the low pop. Latency does not matter, with a ping close to 400ms I can still board in PvP and win, as it has been said a thousand times by devs,moderators and users like myself, this is not a ping based game, it will slightly affect your boarding game but is quite easy to get over.

     

    As for the "Rumor" I think it is genuine many people "from the US and Asia" would have started on that server, they may have moved for whatever reason and they still have ships and money there, although it is not justifiable for them to "sabotage" the server, it is understandable.

  6. Hi there, so I'm getting this error when I try to connect to the server(SteamAPI_init() failed.), don't know why it's coming up (something to do with steams API?)

     

    anyway, help is appreciated, can't get into the game otherwise.

    my dislike of the server and the few people that participate in it, USA may have driven players to pirates, but they also did a good job of driving people to other servers.

     

    and as much as I would love to join in, it's far more interesting fighting people who are polite and show good sportsmanship.

Ive been to Charleston when they still had 150 ports and their ship prices were still in the millions for even common quaility ships i havent been there since then and also before they started losing all the ports they had and still holding strong on 150-170 they STILL refused to bring 1ST RATES! and whenever they brought constitutions to fight and we capped them or got them from blowing them up in battle they were ALWAYS STORE BOUGHT BASICS. so i just scraped them for parts. Bringing just basics to a big battle and you got the numbers and going against a nation with fewer numbers and that nation is bringing exceptionals with the best mods they got as well as best quality of ships your going to sink faster if your in a basic ship that you can only put a couple of mods on that cannot stay afloat.

     

    I made another post in another topic and i made a very good point and i'll say it here again.

     

    "Your USA guys do have most ports and keep trying to get more because of your greed. The more ports you gain the harder it is to defend them all because they become further away and not everyone on all nations including pirates would be willing to sail to the other end of the map just to defend a port they dont care about and dont even sail over there. you may have more people on usa then all the nations but not all of them want to sail so far away and then end up having to give up something to attack or defend a port when they can just sit back and chill with missions or fishing, without much worry. most of the usa players on pvp2 i still havent seen at all yet and i know they are in the golf of mexico because they aint up around the east coast."

    And guess what happened. we pushed our way to the gulf to find their hiding places as we were taking the ports because of the ones who tried to defend them and those ports were set at times we had enough people (few) and took them. FEAR clan was the main group we hit the hardest over there and i never saw oldcrankyman show up to any of those port battles but a few of his friends tried to defend them. they gave it their best at penzacola and they nearly did succeed in defending that port. but we sank both of their victories and one of their 3 pavels they brought. it was a good fight. and they o7 us. they brought the two vics and 3 pavels. i sank 1 vic and that pavel with my santisma and they nearly sunk me near the end. it was a fair fight and they didnt complain, insult, or fight like an unorganized fleet in that battle. they accepted the defeat and still gave a o7 to us. i dont see that from oldcrankyman, elmo, baron, JP Johns, JP shots, and yankyeager at all. i dont even see them fight like an organized group whenever i am fighting them. this is a good example of what you get when you use team work compared to calling out and insulting others because they lose. most of the time when i am in an even match with a usa player they immediately shoot sails and run. the last time i was one on one with a usa player and it was a perfect even match that fought and they did win was the last time i fought WH Knight right outside of Sunbury and we talked about the fight and complimented each other and told each other our side of that battle and its the only one on one fight ive had with the usa and they didnt run and they didnt shoot only my sails so they can run from me because they didnt want to lose something they can ALWAYS REPLACE.

     

    Also, the usa players that switched to pirate when they STILL HAD 150-170 ports AND PLENTY of SHIPS, they said they left because of people like oldcrankyman, elmo, baron, JP Johns, JP shots, and yankyeager because of the insults and ranting and raging. yankyeager and oldcrankyman need to LEARN TO CONTROL THEIR TEMPER! I for one have the worst anger issues and it took my whole life to learn how to control it and refine that control and THIS IS JUST A GAME! NO NEED TO GET ANGRY OVER LOSING IT IS GOING AND WILL HAPPEN WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT! You win some, you lose some.

Personally I like that there are no SOL's in the normal deep ports, they make it a bit more of a skirmish and even a little chaotic, I am an avid player of SOL's but I think they should keep the current system the have in regards to what ships can participate. and also with the new experimental crew patch they are adding it would be impractical to have 3rd rates in those battles.

  10. sounds like a good idea but until the server has population it would be untestable.

     

    at the moment the metric for over extension is when people start defending......so 3 ports from their capital it would seem. I mean that seriously too,  where ever you live + 3 or 4 ports any direction is all you care about

    Yes I have been thinking about it and this would require a larger population.

Hello, I had a thought of something that might be able to combat overextension of nations, all traders know that ports produce and consume, well what if the "consume" was made into something that players had to manage. If a port is neglected for a week or 2 and it doesn't have the resources it needs to be able to function properly then it could have some sort of "revolt" this would mean that the port now switches to a neutral port with an anytime or random timer set for it. I think this could combat the problem of nations zerging the map because maintaining those ports would be more and more difficult the bigger you get.
